Great! Except Parking

Just a heads up that parking is not "daily" or "over night" it was based on 12 hour time periods, so if you are leaving your car be prepared for higher than expected expenses. The property was fantastic and we loved the location and convenience of the property. Would stay again, just wouldn't rent a car. Thanks!

Charleston loft

The key situation and locking system is complicated. The bar across the street is very loud until about 3 am. However the unit is beautiful and clean. And right within walking distance to many good spots. We had a good time

Beautiful apartment, but it is extremely loud at night on the weekends due to live music at the neighboring nightclubs and bars. At the time of our stay, the solution was a small film covering the windows and a white noise machine, but those were woefully inadequate. Even with earplugs, the music was audible, and the vibrations of the floor and furniture and bed and pillows further prevented sleep. Might be great for folks who desire an immersive bar/club/concert experience even when they are home. As an aside, the “parking” that is included with the property is an expensive nearby public parking garage. We ended up leaving the property around midnight and checking into a hotel. Management was very receptive to our feedback and apologized appropriately. Moving forward, I would hope there is more transparency in the property description and less reliance on negative reviews.

Adorable and clean , BUT…..

The place was clean, and so cute. BUT… the noise coming from the bar across the street till 230-4 am was just so bad that we didn’t sleep for the 3 days we were there. I say some reviews but nothing like what we experienced. I would have gone back but there is no way with the entire place facing the 3 story bar. It is unfortunate because spent a lot and was really looking forward to it.

Loved the property but would not stay there again! The instructions were clear on where the property was located, where to park, and how to get inside. The place was beautiful! Loved the style and decor! Very well renovated! However, the club across the street was enough to convince me to not come back! Obviously you expect the noise being on King St and it is mentioned in the listing however it is extremely understated from what you experience. There was live music until 11 and then the club dance music started that almost made us think the mirror was going to shatter every time the bass went off! Again expected. What wasn’t expected was the way the city had decided to “crowd control” and that is by shutting off the street in front of the hotel making it more difficult to get into the alley for parking. There were so many drunk people on the sidewalk that you could not even walk on the sidewalk at all. Even had a drunk guy from Uptown Social fall off the sidewalk, into the street, and then get back up and come to my vehicle and threaten me like I had pushed him into the street from inside the car. Extremely scary with having a baby in the vehicle! This is a great location if you’re looking to join the scene, not worried about sleep, or make sure you’re home before the partiers have time to get drunk and shut down the street!

Cute Apartment, TOUGH TO SLEEP

I stayed at this unit from June 1(Wednesday) - June 8 (Wednesday), 2022. First, the positives — This is a very cute apartment for 1-2 people. It is on the 3rd floor of a building, so be prepared to trek up 3 flights of stairs. It has a high ceiling, the walls are painted a calming blue, there is very nice art work everywhere, the small but full kitchen is nicely stocked with pots & pans, etc. The AC works well. The queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is basic but nice. During the day, I had work to do, and this apartment provided a nice, quiet (considering it is on King Street), space to work in. There is a washer & dryer on the first floor available for the people staying in this building. The concierge number provided by the company that owns this unit — Stay Duvet — was great. Someone always responded to my calls and texts, which was especially critical when I first got to the building, because the code lock was not immediately easy to use. This place is great during the day. The negatives — It says in the description that there is a popular bar across the street, so ear plugs are recommended for sleeping. THIS WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. The sound machine provided by Stay Duvet that was placed next to the bed was very useful during the week. I used that, plus ear plugs, and I could still hear the the music, but I could sleep somewhat-to-fairly-well the first two nights (Wednesday and Thursday). But come Friday night, the volume of the music from UPTOWN SOCIAL cranked up to such a level that it became impossible to drown out the noise with just ear plugs and the sound machine. The music and noise was in high gear around 11pm, then got louder after midnight, then it got even louder between 1am-2am (LAST HOUR!!!!!). The booming sound of the base and drums, and the DJ screaming, were so darn loud it was as though I was trying to sleep right outside of the bar… the apartment is just across the street on King Street, and since sound travels up (law of physics), I guess I was basically sleeping right in front of the band playing and the DJ screaming. The bar closes at 2am, so I could sleep after that. This happened again on Saturday night, and again on Sunday night. UPTOWN SOCIAL had quieter bands on Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday nights, so I was able to sleep with my ear plugs and the sound machine. I wish the windows and walls were sound-proofed so that I could sleep easier.
