HIDDEN GEM - COZY 1 BEDROOM LAKEFRONT HOME/COTTAGE


Our home is a very lovely, one bedroom lakefront cottage (it is a duplex) with an all knotty pine interior, fireplace, very large master bedroom, well stocked kitchen, large living room/dining room, and new bath.Charming, cozy and immaculate in a great lakeside neighborhood with neighborhood park and YMCA. Cozy in the winter and FABULOUS in the summer.

The large, private backyard and patio abuts Lake Erie. There is a large park a short walk/bike ride down the street, and a large, private backyard to watch the truly great sunsets, sunrises and sailboat races on Lake Erie.

Conveniently located, it is 20 minutes from Cedar Point and the many Sandusky water parks (Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay), 30 minutes to the ferry for the Lake Erie Islands and wineries, 20 minutes to historic Milan/Norwalk Ohio (home of Thomas Edison), and 30 minutes to Cleveland’s Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, the Science Museum, Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, and the world famous Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Orchestra, and Art and History museums. (CLEVELAND IS FABULOUS !!!) There is fine shopping, FANCY restaurants, boat rentals and the quaint City of Vermilion (complete with ice cream Shoppe, wonderful beaches and a 5 star French restaurant on the water) to visit.

Spend a day at Cedar Point, and come home to the quiet of the Lake for dinner and an evening of relaxing at the water. Go fishing in the morning, and then head into Milan in the afternoon of history. Head off for a day at the water parks and come home to a home cooked meal on the grill. Spend a day at the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame and visit the many sites of Cleveland (USS Mather, the USS Cod submarine, the many nightclubs in the Flats by the Cuyahoga River, the Science Museum, or catch an Indians game) (Cleveland really is a great city) and come home to a night of catching fireflies in the backyard, or a trip into Vermilion for ice cream or just a peaceful sunset at the water.

Our house offers you days of quiet by the water with the fun and excitement of day trips to the many sites in Vermilion, Sandusky, Huron, Milan, Norwalk, and Cleveland, as well as the Lake Erie Islands. IT IS A GORGEOUS, RECENTLY RENOVATED HOME THAT IS COZY!!! You will have a vacation to remember for always.

A wonderful place to stay

My husband and I stayed at this “hidden gem” for a week and throughly enjoyed it! Kate was a wonderful host and her cottage had everything thar we needed plus more. She even provided us with our first morning breakfast which included coffee and muffins and even butter! But one of the most impressive feature were the bathrobes!! We look forward to coming back next year and hopefully can extend our stay.

Great Time

The cottage is exactly as advertised. It is neat, clean and cozy. The provided towels and bedsheets are a great bonus. The kitchen is stocked better than most and clean. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and allowed us to relax and get away. It was easy to get to things we wanted to do, such as kayaking and biking.

Lake Erie gem!

I had the most marvelous week at this property! If I could give it six stars, I would! It is comfortable and homey, a perfect place to relax and unplug. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need if you feel like cooking. And there’s some great restaurants, too-just ask Kate for recommendations! The view and surroundings are priceless. So beautiful! The sunsets are incredible and view of the lake is stunning. Watching the boats and the ever changing color of lake with a good cup of coffee made on the Cuisinart coffee maker was the best way to start my day. We had a little confusion on check-in that was quickly remedied. Kate is a gracious and responsive host. I will be back!

Great Place for a Getaway!

This is a fantastic place for a getaway!! For me, it was a solo retreat to get some reading and writing done. The home was exactly as I expected. Clean, well kept up and with a very well equipped kitchen, this was a great place for a three night/four day retreat. In March the weather was a bit sketchy making it difficult to really enjoy what otherwise would be a great view of the lake. But, the wood burning fireplace was a warm, wonderful consolation! Lastly the owner was very easy to work with, alway a plus. All together this makes for a Great Lake cottage getaway!

It was absolutely perfect. There is nothing i can say that i would change! The neighborhood is quaint and quiet, and there is a convenience store right across the street. The real star here is, of course, the property itself. Incredible sunsets in the evening and sunrise each morning. It is unusual to be situated where you can see both! Since the property is located lakeside, it was so calming to watch the water. The accomodations were top notch, the kitchen was stocked with any and everything you could ever need. The owners were responsive and so kind.

Shore View!

This home is just feet away from the lake. The weather was not good for being outside, however a wall of windows faces the lake so we could still enjoy watching the waves, the color vatiations in the water and when it did calm down: two freighters, smaller boats, a sail boat and the birds. We had everything we needed. Kate started us out with a delicious treat! We struggled with the technology of the tv, but that is our own fault as we do not use streaming services at home and so the learning curve is there for us. We look forward to going back if it is available again.

Why they chose this property

We purchased our lakefront home years ago. Recently we gutted large parts of the home, replaced kitchens and baths and added a second story. THE PLACE IS WONDERFUL. THE LOCATION IS WONDERFUL.

Our one bedroom side provides a wonderful cozy getaway opportunity in a breathtaking lakefront location, while being close to Cleveland, the Cleveland Clinic, the islands, Cedar Point, and all of the waterfront points of interest. Our home is lovely, cozy, and immaculate. The views are magnificent and the lakefront wonderful.

What makes this property unique

A PEACEFUL, BEAUTIFUL AND IMMACULATE LAKEFRONT RETREAT IN A CHARMING NEIGHBORHOOD.
Also, our home is a duplex - so there is a mirror image house next door with three bedrooms. This arrangement has proved a wonderful option for family gatherings - particularly for two separate families - or grandparents/parent vacations. Because we have a large backyard, there is ample privacy.

SO YOU KNOW - WE STRICTLY ENFORCE THE GOLDEN RULE: YOU MUST TREAT OUR GUESTS AND NEIGHBORS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED - WITH REPECT AND KINDNESS.

ALSO, IN THE SUMMER CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT TIMES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME FOR CLEANING. (If off-season - we are easy. Talk to us.)
