Luxury Lake House on Potato Lake

6000 square feet of luxury log cabin set on 225 feet of shoreline. The perfect location to host your next family reunion, friends summer lake weekend, fall leaf peeping excursion, snowmobiling or ice fishing trip or simply a change of scenery for those who work/school remotely. Complete with gourmet kitchen, all the essentials for preparing a Holiday meal and lower level game room for year round enjoyment.

Main level Great Room is furnished with large sectional overlooking the lake. Attached dining room has a table with space for 12. Table can be separated to comfortably seat 16.

Lower level entertaining space showcases a 70 inch TV, sectional, queen bed for additional sleeping space, pool table, ping pong table and exercise room. There is also a play room complete with toys and games for the little ones.

One bedroom is on the main level with attached bath and walk in closet large enough for an air mattress if desired (not provided). There is also a half bath located on the main level. 3 bedrooms and office are located on the upper level. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. A second bathroom is shared by the additional bedrooms. A queen murphy bed can be found in the office along with a full size crib. The remaining bedroom is on the lower level. Towels and linens all provided.

Screened in sun room is perfect for escaping the heat. Fire pit and outdoor patio on the lake side have ample seating for relaxation. There is a short, paved path down to the water with a small sand beach. Wagon's are available to carry your cooler and beach towels (which are provided). Kayaks, paddle boards, tube for pulling behind the boat and Lily pad can be found in the boat house, which is located on the water for easy access.

Crib, pack and play, high chair, baby gate and stroller are all on site to alleviate the stress of traveling with small children. Washer and Dryer can be found on the main level.

Our pontoon with seating for 12 is available to rent for your stay as well. Rental is by a daily rate but must be rented for your entire reservation. Includes one tank of fuel. Inquire if interested.

The house is conveniently located 9 miles from the town of Park Rapids, less than a mile from the public boat launch on Potato Lake, 2 miles to Summerhill Adventures, 3 miles to Eagle View Golf Course, 5 miles to Evergreen Fun Park and 17 miles to Itasca State Park which is open year round for hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Family Trip

We visited MN this year for a family reunion. We have relatives with a cabin on fishhook lake and the house on Potato Lake was perfect to gather as a group. There are plenty of bedrooms, great options for water activities, indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and we would definitely recommend staying here. A great stay in lake country!

Beautiful home and location

This was a great home for our families to meet for our annual trip. Our favorite spot was the screened porch for reading, visiting or playing games. We caught fish off the dock, used the kayaks and paddle boards, walked the road, and played lots of pool and ping pong. Plenty of space for our group of 10. One of the few homes we have stayed in where everyone had their own bed! We grew up staying on Potato Lake so it was special to return.

The Best

Best vrbo we have stayed at. Absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Exceeded expectations. Loved the layout. Loved that it was luxurious with space while not being fussy or full of tchotchke. The grandkids (teenagers) had so much fun with the kayaks and paddle boards at the lakeside, then they stayed up till 2am playing ping pong downstairs. Chris was a super host, accessible and congenial. We would love to return to this lodge. It is the best!

Park Rapids in October

We had a great time coming back to this "cabin"! Having been there the year before it felt like coming home! We really like how the spaces are so big and there is lots of room for the kids to have a great time, whether it's playing games, playing outside, doing crafts in the screened in porch, watching tv, etc. The "big" kids enjoyed all the spaces again and we are hopefully looking forward to another visit next year! Clean house, plenty of towels and some cooking supplies. Use of the grill and the kayaks is a bonus!! Thank you so much!!!

My family and I are in love with this place and would definitely return. It was cozy, relaxing and just amazing. We had a large group, including littles, middles, teens, tweens, and adults. There was plenty of room for comfortable sitting, sleeping, and eating. They even have the extras like highchair, pack-n-play, crib, beach towels, fully stocked kitchen, etc. The kids had a great time and stayed busy with the indoor/outdoor games/toys available. We had everything we needed. Checking in and out was smooth and easy. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions I had. These hosts are very accommodating.

Beautiful House and Property, Great VRBO!

My family (2 adults, 3 children) stayed at this cabin with our friends (2 adults, 5 children) for the 2nd year in a row. This is an absolutely beautiful property and one of the best set-up VRBO's I have every stayed at. There is everything necessary to make a trip with young children easy and convenient, from cribs and pack-and-plays, to toddler gates, sound machines, and lots of toys. The kitchen is fantastic, with every utensil and many options for brewing coffee :). The position in the middle of the north shore of Potato Lake means you will have great sunlight from sunrise to sunset. Good boathouse with kayaks, paddleboards, a Mau Matt, and lots of beach toys. We plan on staying here for many years to come!

Beautiful home

Spent NYE weekend with 9 family members (two kids ages 17 and 12). This home was absolutely wonderful, so much space to spread out. Everything was clean and stocked. Except we were surprised to find no shampoo, conditioner, or soap other than hand soap. We didn’t read anywhere that we needed to bring our own so 9 people had to scramble in their bags to find stuff we could use when showering.

More than enough

We had originally planned to go snowmobiling, but no snow! We brought lots of games, but there were games for all ages provided, I.pool table, foosball, ping pong, children’s toy room and board games. We had 5 adults plus 5,2,and 1 year old kids. So many bed options! Even had crib with white noise maker. Walked at nearby Itasca State Park and shopped Park Rapids, but not much open. Beautiful place!

Amazing property, great for families and large groups!

We stayed 5 nights with two large families including lots of young children. Chris has done an amazing job with this house! The property itself is absolutely beautiful; definitely one of the most impressive houses I have ever stayed in. Everything we could have wanted was on hand. There were multiple types and styles of coffee makers and all manner of cooking supplies. There's a a large downstairs area with full playroom, lots of toys, ping pong, and other games that kept the kids entertained for hours. The beach was great and a good, shallow slope for kids. Chris was very easy to communicate with and helpful throughout the trip. Overall great stay; we couldn't have asked for a better property or host!

Cousins summer reunion

This property was PERFECT for three families all with young kids. The house is beautiful with gorgeous views, very well appointed and totally child safe. There are many thoughtful things for kids: toys, crib and high chair and plates/cups. The kitchen is huge and well equipped with nearly everything you could want. Outdoors: the pavers down to the sandy beach at the lake was so nice. We rented the pontoon and best decision ever! Lots of water toys too. Short drive to Itasca Park and downtown Park Rapids. Excellent communication. We will definitely return!

We didn’t want to leave!

Our extended family loved this lake house. It was spacious enough for our large family and more than plenty of sleeping space. The house is huge and the kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed and had plenty of space for gathering during cooking/dinner time. We sat outside from coffee time to cocktail time around the fire pit. The view of the lake from the screened in porch was beautiful. The lake was perfect sized and we caught plenty of northerns, walleye, bass and perch. The kids loved that they could fish off the dock. And the water toys were a huge plus. The house was secluded and the lake was quiet. We are all thinking of a time to get back. Thank you for such a wonderful vacation house!

Beautiful in October

This "cabin" was perfect for our family gathering in mid-October. 3 levels to spread out in, with beds for all of us. A plus was that we could all (16) eat together on one table! Beautiful home with a very woodsy surrounding, places to walk/hike and use of kayaks made many good memories for us all. We hope to make this our destination for a yearly event from now on! Suzi

Dream Minnesota lakehouse

We were a group of three young families, all traveling to MN for the first time for a getaway. This house has it ALL for families. It is spacious, clean, well-designed, and most of all, beautiful. Plenty of toys for the kids, pool and ping pong tables for adults. Kitchen is well-stocked and easy to use. Plenty of lake accessories (kayaks, SUP, fishing rods) available for use. We also used the pontoon boat and it was incredibly fun and easy to drive. We are already dreaming of a return trip one day!

Great Place for families! We want to come back!

The Lodge at Potato is a great vacation rental for any large family/group. We finally found a rental that every one of our 12 family members could sleep in their own bed and find plenty of personal spaces as well as large gathering spaces. We have 6 adults and six children including several teens. The expansive home was very clean and full of amenities that made our vacation memorable. The beds were sooo comfortable. First class linens! The lower level had a pool table, ping pong, exercise room and TV room (with 70" screen TV. The kitchen is first class with a huge Viking range/stove that is commercial class, huge island, and a butler pantry/coffee bar. This made cooking for 12 people a breeze. The refrigerator in the garage really helped with food storage as you can imagine how much food 12 people eat! The oversize grill allowed us to cook 6 full racks of ribs at one time. the dining room table seated all 12 of us. The screened porch was probably the most used room in the home. We played games into the night as well as relaxed with coffee in the mornings. The firepit was also enjoyable with plenty of seating so all could enjoy it. The property features a paver walk way down the hill to the lake. This nice feature was much preferred to navigating steps down to the lake. The boat house was loaded with water toys, paddle boards, and kayaks. The lily pad was a huge hit with the kids. They spent most of the day playing in the water. All are in perfect working condition and quality equipment. Our host, Chris, is a great host. He was available to answer any question we had quickly. He provided timely information and was in contact with us to make sure we had everything we needed. So to sum up our experience, The Lodge at Potato exceeded our expectations. We plan to be back!

Perfect for a large family

This house was fantastic for our extended family stay. We had 14 guests and had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen and main living spaces were large enough to easily gather, had enough place settings and all of the cookware needed, and wow, a giant grill! We loved the fire pit area overlooking the lake, the screened in porch was fantastic, and the dock and water activities were awesome. We would love to come back!

Great Space for a Family Vacation!

We enjoyed the kitchen, the dining area, the beds and bathrooms. If a bathroom was added to the basement, it would be even better. The view of the lake was beautiful and those who used the pontoon had a great time on the lake. We loved being in Park Rapids because of the easy access to Itasca State Park & Mississippi River Headwaters, to the Rapid Rivers Logger's Camp, Summerhill Shopping, to Lake George and Bemidji! Thanks to our hosts!
