PERFECT Spot For A Family Getaway
Our family of four stayed here for a few weeks and it was the perfect home away from home. All of the amenities you might need have been thought of from umbrellas and portable lawn chairs to Tupperware and meat seasonings. The property is well maintained and the location is central to everything. It’s also private and secluded so you won’t be bothered by people partying at the lake or noisy neighbors interrupting the peace. Another plus for this house is the cleanliness. Sometimes in lake homes you have to make a small trade in this department, but this house felt clean and sanity from the moment we entered. Consider yourself lucky if you get to call this your home base while at the lake.

Gorgeous Property!
We enjoyed a wonderful ski weekend at Birch Bluff. The house is absolutely gorgeous—gleaming hardwood floors, wonderful original built ins—a truly beautiful home. The house was pristine upon arrival with cozy linens, plenty of towels, and a well-equipped kitchen. Very close to Mt. Sunappee — a six minute drive. Communication with the owner was clear and easy. We will definitely stay here again!

About the host

We have been renting through VRBO for 20 years. We own two houses in downtown Chatham Cape Cod that we have rented for the lat 20 years. Three years ago we purchased this 100 year old home in Newbury NH as we like to ski and hike and wanted a place removed from the craziness of Mass and crowds. It has been a 3 year renovation project but the house has come together nicely.

Why they chose this property

This is a great property for couples or small families looking to get away from the craziness and prefer a classic home setting versus some 70s style, no charm chalet, full of old bunk beds claiming to sleep16 people.

What makes this property unique

Great views of Mt Sunapee. Close to John Hay estate, Sunapee lake and village, Warner, Bradford and New London ( home of Sawyer College). Bubbas bar and grill less than 5 min drive. Many restaurants with in 15-20 mins, including The Anchorage Restaurant and water front dar at Sunapee Harbor where Aerosmith got their start many years ago.
Plenty of hiking trails, mountain biking and kayaking. Mt Sunapee offers mountain biking all summer long.
