The house was great, the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything but cooking oil. We were able to tie up to the dock overnight, that made fishing much easier. So in closing, bring soap, shampoo and cooking spray and you’ll be golden!
Our group consisted of 4 adult men and 2 11 year old boys. Our plans while there were to fish Butternut Lake and surrounding lakes. I have 2 suggestions.. description of sleeping arrangements could be more and the dock could be better suited to dock 2 boats
Once again this place was perfect, we stayed in this place for the third time, nice and quiet, and most of all this place is clean and had everything what you need for the stay, fishing was great, pikes, smallmouth bass, and walleyes, we can't wait to book this place again ☺
This was a comfortable cabin on a quiet lake surrounded by beautiful scenery. You'll enjoy the privacy and outdoor space. Everything was clean as others said.
Cabin was very clean and organized. All accommodations as described. Amazing setting on a beautiful lake. Plan on returning next year. A experience all around!
Nice place. All the basics for a guys fishing trip. Clean and comfortable. Some blackout shades on the east side would be nice as 5am sunrise shines bright. Bring your own soap or body wash and at least 150' of extension cord if charging boat batteries at the dock. We know the drill and would be back.
Butternut Lake is a little slice of heaven. The house was clean, equipped, and plenty of space for our family. All my questions were quickly answered before or during the stay. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing and swimming daily. Great hiking and biking were also close by. We appreciated the fish cleaning station so we could enjoy our catch for dinner. Great quiet get away to unplug and enjoy the Northwoods.
This was a sligltly dated but clean and comfortable 3 bedroom lake house. All the basics we needed for a weekend fishing trip. We were very comfortablenand enjoyed the fire pit at night. If you're fishing and bringing a boat and want to leave it at the dock make sure to bring minimum 125' of extension cord to charge batteries.
Cabin was very clean. Although we have been coming to butternut for over 30 years, the family grows and more space is needed. This fit the bill perfectly!! Enjoyed the canoes and the surroundings! Thank you to Alana for prompt reply’s to all my questions. The s’mores were an extra touch👍.
Reservations and Communication with owner was excellent! Always quick to respond to our questions. Home was very clear, no clutter. Lake was crystal clear. Close enough to Eagle River & Three Lakes that if you needed something, it would be about 1 1/2 hour roundtrip. Remember you are in the National Forest. So, so many Loons on the lake! Heard them during the day and into the night. House had no A/C, dishwasher, outlets in bathrooms that worked. We managed just fine without! Plenty of room for up to 8 adults. We brought our boat and tied up once to pier, had minor damage due to waves of other boats. A boat lift would have been perfect, but not expected. Boat launch only 1/2 mile away and only $5/day to launch. Very quiet lake, peaceful!! Decided next time, might not even bring the boat. Sat in the water reading Patterson collection of boats or on the large deck overlooking the lake! Perfect vacation, didn't want it to end!!
The rental was very spacious and clean. The view of the lake from the huge deck was awesome. The roomy master bedroom, which had a nice on-suite bathroom, was very comfortable, including the bed. We first tried one bedroom that was on the other side of the living area and that bed was so hard that I got up and moved to the master suite because I couldn't sleep on that rock hard mattress. The pillows were very hard, too. Also, I always bring my own food when I go to rentals due to diet restrictions. This place was rather sparsely stocked, not even having cooking oil and only providing one extra kitchen garbage bag for our stay. And, something that was a bit inconvenient was that there were no check-out procedures posted anywhere and I didn't receive an email telling me of the procedures. I tried going back into my email to see if there was a link for me to contact the property owner/manager and when clicked on the link that was provided it said they had no record of me from that email, even though I was using the email they sent me for check-in purposes. So, it made it impossible for me to contact the owner/property manager. That part was frustrating. But, the size, beauty and cleanliness of the rental kind of made up for the small-ish inconveniences.
The property is amazing. The cabin was very clean and was fully furnished and has everything you may need for a worry free vacation. The only thing we disliked was the fishingWe hardly caught anything for the first 4 days we were there we had to pull the boats out and go to Lac Vieux where we caught abundant of fish
