Located in the Purple Parrot Village Resort, you’ll be within 5 mins. (by vehicle) of grocery stores, local restaurants, and a great seafood market. Gulf Islands National Seashore, which offers miles of undeveloped, federally preserved beaches, is right down the street and is a fantastic place to sunbathe, birdwatch, and collect seashells. (NOTE: this beach does have a $25 entrance fee per vehicle for a 7-day pass.) Other nearby beach options include Perdido Key State Park and the handful of public beach areas—all within a quarter mile or 5 min. drive. Big Lagoon State Park is also a quick drive across the bridge and offers bayside beaches, kayaking, and miles of hiking trails. Purple Parrot also sits adjacent to Lost Key Golf Club, an Arnold Palmer Championship course.
The Perdido Key area moves at a slower pace than the neighboring beach towns but is only a short drive to historic downtown Pensacola (which offers tons of restaurants, breweries, and local shops), Orange Beach, and Gulf Shores. It really is the perfect spot for your tropical getaway.
