A great place to stay near Fort Worden and North Beach
The place was great - well supplied kitchen and comfortable common spaces. The host was quick to reply to any questions. Neighborhood is quiet and close to walks and beach - we walked the community trails and the beach from North beach to Point Wilson twice. A quick drive to restaurants, breweries and other attractions.
The photos matched the space and the hosts were often quick to answer messages before check-in and texts after we arrived. We opted to use the summerhouse and did have a few glitches like short circuiting a fuse when turning on two appliances at once or a misaligned knob on the stove that made it stay on. Both were quickly tended to as the hosts stay on the first floor of the duplex.
During an unexpected city-wide power outage the hosts were gracious and took us around to see the Sound and Fort Warden.
I would rent again if I had a car. This is about a 5-7 minute drive into town and a 40 minute walk with hills. Neighborhood was quiet and the water pressure was strong. One thing to note, laundry is not in the rented unit. You'll have to coordinate with the hosts who are more than accommodating to let you use.
The property was very well provisioned, full kitchen, every convenience. Location was close enough to everything, but absolutely no ruckus. Beds were large and comfortable, large tvs and plenty of room to lounge around. Large backyard with room for games and relaxing. Definitely not a bland hotel experience, very homelike and welcoming. Thanks for the lovely experience, hope to return again.

Why they chose this property
If you look at a satellite view of the property, you'll notice that the extensive acreage of forest that the 600 acre State Park provides extends to this yard. It's a thoroughfare for deer, forest songbirds, squirrels and other animals. Old growth trees on the property create quiet and solitude.
