Nightmare of a Vacation
I can’t even put into words how bad this vacation was for us. The condo was “cleaned” and I was told we could check-in. Upon entering the condo, we immediately noticed the level of filth that was on every single surface. The baseboards had never been cleaned, both showers were covered in a thick layer of black mold, the floors were unswept and unmopped leaving our feet black, there was a used tampon in the bathroom drawer, and the bedrooms were disheveled. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was broken and the condo was 75 degrees with 80+ percent humidity. I immediately notified Brittany of our issues. It took over 24 hours and multiple texts before she sent somebody to clean and fix the AC.
On night three, the fire alarm was triggered around 3-4am but ONLY in our unit. We had to call the fire department to come out as the unit doesn’t automatically notify them. After 30 minutes, they arrived and told us to let the owner know immediately or they would receive a fine for malfunctioning fire alarms. Brittany told me she was sending somebody to replace the units. Two residents from an upstairs unit were sent (NOT fire professionals) and she instructed them to shut the fire alarm off in the breaker box. We said absolutely not - we would not stay without a functioning alarm.
Brittany told me we would receive a refund. After 5 weeks, texts saying she paid me, and multiple calls to VRBO, she finally issued a partial refund.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Horrible host
