Helen Haus - RIVERFRONT 3 bdr 3.5 bath Town Home in beautiful Alpine Helen!
Helen Haus is a NEW LISTING JULY 2025! Check out the owner's awesome reviews at their sister property - https://www.vrbo.com/2629686.
Welcome to Helen Haus! A spacious and relaxing three bedroom - three and a half bath riverfront townhome with rear covered decks overlooking the gentle flowing Chattahoochee River!
Our first floor features a a large living area with ample seating, large tv, beautiful fireplace (seasonal), fully equipped kitchen, dining area, half bath and private deck where you can enjoy the gorgeous views and tranquil sounds of the Chattahoochee River.
Second floor hosts two bedrooms. On the river side of the house is the master suite with a king bed, private bath with jetted tub and separate shower, TV and peaceful balcony. Opposite the master suite is the beautifully appointed guest room #2 with a queen bed, private bath and TV.
The basement level is home to what we like to call our Bear Cave (guest room #3) with a queen bed, private outdoor sitting area and full bath. An additional two single beds can be found in our dorm area... a perfect space for the kids to retreat and have their own space to hang out!
Rear covered decks: Your home away from home has two relaxing rear covered decks with amazing views of the Chattahoochee River just feet away. Enjoy quiet mornings with a hot beverage or a drink of choice later in the day. Prepare your favorite meal in the full kitchen or enjoy take out from any one of Helen’s many restaurants. Either way your very own riverside view is always available.
Parking: Our HOA limits parking for each unit to no more than two spaces. We are assigned parking space marked “D” plus one visitor spot marked "V" either right next to our assigned space or across the parking lot.
Mobility accommodations: While we are not ADA compliant we do offer assistance for moderately physically impaired individuals. Handrail located on front of home to assist with entry, chairlift to assist with gaining access to the bedrooms upstairs, and handrails located in master bathroom.
Things to do:
Stay busy
Our townhome's location is across the river from the water park. It's the perfect balance of being close enough to downtown to explore the area or to sit back, relax, put your feet up and watch the river water go by!
You are within walking distance or up to a two mile drive from the following: Numerous restaurants (casual to upscale, traditional to German fare - some with outside seating, some on the river, some with live music), several live music venues, Habersham Winery, historic Nora Mill Granary, antique stores, Helen event Festhalle, Christmas festivities, various parades (some viewed right from the condo's front balcony), wedding chapel, miniature golf, summer tubing on the river, a small waterpark (pool, waterslides and a lazy river), family style roller coaster, slot car race track, riverside picnic park, downtown's city park, Helen's Arts and Heritage Center (a small museum), Betty's Country Grocery Store (warmly unique with all the essentials), liquor stores, many interesting and engaging shops, horse drawn carriage tours, the trail head to hike nearby Heritage Trail or from Helen to Unicoi State Park.
Two to three miles from the condo: The historic Old Sautee Store (rocking chair porch and interesting history, souvenirs and gifts), Hardman Farm and Indian Mound Historic Site (in Sautee), the educational Folk Pottery Museum (in Sautee), the lovely Lavender Shop (in Sautee), Fred's Famous Peanuts roadside store, Woody's Mountain Bike Rental (with trail location info), Innsbruck Golf Course (hilly and beautiful- open to the public), two miniature golfs, Cool River Zipline (some ziplines go over the Chattahoochee, have an awesome wall climbing, aerial walkways and more) , Chickamauga Creek covered bridge and Unicoi State Park.
Within five to ten miles from the condo: Several waterfall trails, Yonah Mountain Vineyard, Serenity Vineyard and other local and well rated wineries (there is a "wine trail" - a tour of seven wineries with tasting rooms available), Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland, Smithgall Woods State Park and many, many other places of interest.
If you are out driving the scenic countryside you might wish to enjoy two nearby spectacular waterfall trails just 6-7 miles away (Dukes Creek Falls and Raven Cliff Falls - both off Hyw 348). Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, is approx. 40 minutes north of Helen. A number of beautiful vistas can be enjoyed at roadside pull offs on Richard Russell Scenic Hwy. GA Highways 129, 75 and 348 provide access to a number of trails including the Appalachian Trail.
Relax and Enjoy:
Indulge in your private candle lit jetted tub.
In cooler months, snuggle in the living room in front of your gas fireplace.
Unwind on the covered decks watching the river go by or the occasional ducks and people fishing.
Helen Haus and the charming Alpine town of Helen both offer so much including the feeling of home.
Our place is a great place to stay for your north Georgia get-away. Click "ask owner" if you have any questions. Thank you.
