About this property
Pearl of the Nordheide, just outside of Hamburg
The pretty half-timbered house is situated on a rather large plot with a very large south- and a smaller west-facing terrace. In the house are on the upper floor four bedrooms (two double beds, two single beds), an open gallery and a full bath. On the ground floor there is a kitchen and the living / dining room next to the hallway and guest toilet. Both kitchen and living / dining room have direct access to the terrace. Furthermore there is on the ground floor a utility room (next to the kitchen) as well as a double garage. In the garage there are six bicycles (3 adults, three kids) and the barbecue grill. In good weather, the garden is a dream, if it is not quite that beautiful, the house offers enough space.
Luhdorf is a district of Winsen, but has largely preserved its village character. In addition to various farm shops, there are two bakers, for example to pick up fresh rolls in the morning by bike. Through Luhdorf flows the river Luhe, in which one can take a bath or swim very well or also do canoeing. The center of Winsen (Luhe) is within a few minutes drive, there are very good shopping possibilities. By using the nearby motorway, it is only 20 km to Lüneburg or 35 km to Hamburg. Both cities can also be reached by train with HVV tickets from Winsen station. To the Lüneburger Heide (and the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide) it is not even 20 KM. This route is also very nice to cycle along the Luhe cycle path.
By car you can reach the exit "Winsen-Ost" of the A39 motorway within three minutes. From there you get very quickly to Hamburg or Lüneburg. Winsen is part of the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV). With an HVV ticket you can get into the bus in Luhdorf and go with the Metronom (train) in only 20 minutes to Hamburg (or 10 minutes to Lüneburg). The best way is to buy a 9:00 o'clock all day ticket. You can then travel all day in Hamburg, even on the Elbe ferries (for example the very popular line 62 from Landungsbrücken to Finkenwerder).

About the host
Hosted by Andreas Meyer
We live in Hamburg and have a pretty nice country house in the Nordheide. We use it on weekends and holidays, so it is fully equipped. If we do not use it ourselves, we gladly make it available to guests.
