This home was truly amazing and did not disapoint! Check in was super easy and the communication was instant. The home was immaculate and perfectly represented. So much room and so comfortable. We will be back!
Check in was smooth. Russ responded to a locked garage promptly. The house was clean with plenty of towels. The kitchen was well supplied with the essentials. Hot tub was clean and worked well. The kids enjoyed the basement games. It was very spacious for our family. We loved the location, and easy assess to trails, and restaurants in Lead and Deadwood.
Very , very nice house super clean and quiet area Will make enjoy your time with the family want to make barbecue, the grill is big enough to cook fast and easy !!!
This was the first time in 30 years that we were able to have our entire family together for a reunion. Although my wife passed away suddenly before the date it was an excellent opportunity for our family to celebrate the life of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. It was a time for memories and reflection on the life of this beautiful person. The setting and accommodations were perfect for this. The wild daises were blooming and the weather was perfect. We also had a photographer take a lot of family pictures. Many memories were created here at this wonderful location. Hoping to make this an annual event for the family.
Minnesota/Wisconsin friends side by side get together
Good location for our friends to get together to ride the beautiful trails in the Black Hills on side-by-sides…This place had everything you could want and the space for parking 4 trucks with trailers couldnt worked out better. The space in the house is amazing! Great location!
We had a great stay at this house. Very nice and spacious. We had five trucks and trailers and there was plenty of room to park with 7 buggies unloaded while we were there. Great location and nice neighborhood. This house had everything we needed and more. Wi-Fi and cell service is not great but on vacation who needs it. Highly recommended if your staying in the area.
Was a great place..suites our family well..there was alot of bees and front door entrance..the master sink took a little to drain..other then that it was a very nice place to stay..thank you!!

It was ok.
The AC did not work. Called the owner and she said when it’s hot out it struggles to catch up. It was 73 outside and 76 inside. There was an error on the there and she still did not address it.

Nicole, we are sorry to hear the stay did not meet your expectations, specifically regarding the air conditioning. The high temp on June 10, the day you reached out to me, was 95. Unfortunately, the AC does struggle to keep up on the few very hot days in the Black Hills. I did respond to your inquiry regarding the error code indicating it is triggered when the AC is struggling to keep up. When you reached out, it was cooling, so we asked you to contact us if it did not continue cooling. We did not hear back, so assumed it was working. We should have checked back the next day, but did not want to hassle you. We have also since changed out the filters, so that should help as well. We appreciated your stay and do hope you enjoyed your time in the Black Hills.
The nine of us loved this property! The property owners were very responsive to our questions. For our purposes, the property was close to the attractions that interested us. We are friends that have known each other for over 50 years and had a blast! The owners' recommendations for places to eat in Deadwood were very helpful. We highly recommend this spacious and well appointed home for a base to explore the Black Hills of South Dakota.
There was plenty of room, though the 6 in the loft sharing a bathroom had the only congestion. Beautiful home with lots of seating! We are all adults, and there were plenty of rooms for the couples as well as the single gals. Lots of space for several cars. Didn't have time to use the hot tub. I could have used a chair to sit on in the bunk room putting on shoes, but it worked well.
Great place for a big various-aged group. Enough spaces for "groups" to go to and do their own thing, enough bathrooms, beds, couch space, seating, windows for views, etc. Very nice house, very cozy and great location. Unfortunately, no snow came until our check out day, but it was lovely to watch the little bit we were there. We had booked the house in hopes of being able to do some snow activities:(
Only a few minor complaints...instructions for TV use could be a little more helpful. Took us a couple days to realize the downstairs remote also can run the upstairs TV; adjusting heat was a little wonky (could've been user error too), but the first day cold air was coming out of vent by kitchen sink, while hot air was coming out of vent in Great Room, it eventually seemed to get figured out...not sure how; the binder with all instructions has 3 different sets of instructions. I had printed off your email, but not everyone saw that copy, so might be worth updating the binder...especially with the garbage days. And just a few things that could be better (but definitely not deal-breakers), some bath towels are on their last leg, no tissues to be found, more/bigger mixing/popcorn type bowls would be nice, rubber spatulas, maybe another big fridge (in garage maybe?).
But overall, it was a great stay. Everything we needed (garbage bags, kitchen towels, shovel, brooms, bedding) was in a great supply. Community house was also a big hit for our group. Thanks!!

Unresponsive owner, poorly cleaned and maintained
Firstly the maintenance and cleanliness of the house is lacking. We arrived to 2 out of 3 waste bins completely full, a broken screen door, and a clogged sink upstairs. The refrigerator and several toilets we had to clean ourselves before we felt comfortable using. We have little ones so retrieving toys under the sofas indicate cleaning staff never moves furniture to sweep and mop, does not wipe within cabinets and drawers, and does not organise the kitchen for ease of use after guests depart. A great deal more kitchen equipment needed for house capacity; no small dinnerware or child friendly cups, no rubber spatulas, a whisk, a 4-6 slice toaster, or a kettle. The pans stick horribly, never found the cord for the griddle, and the igniter on the bbq wasn’t functioning (and there wasn’t a long arm lighter to be found to remedy). The house desperately needs window treatments in the great room, also particularly for the sofa sleeper areas. The linen amenities need doubled, not nearly enough bath or pool/hot tub towels for the house capacity. The biggest issue was no wifi and inadequate guest guide. Flickering lights suggest perhaps there is a larger electrical issue. I tried calling the owner with no luck and my e-mail wasn't answered until the next day and no solution was offered. I emailed the owner our feedback after our departure and received no reply. The other half of our party rented Copper Skies nearby and had a far better experience for less expense!

We are sorry the property didn't meet your expectations. This is not typical as indicated by other reviews of the property. The cleaning issues have been addressed with our cleaning company, and we will certainly update our kitchen and other supplies as we do that frequently. While your review indicates we were 'unresponsive' as hosts, we corresponded numerous times via email to assist in addressing your issues. The internet provider was contacted, but unfortunately the issue couldn't be resolved during your stay. We are currently looking into a new provider to improve reliability. The great room has large windows providing a beautiful view of Terry Peak. The windows do allow a large amount of sunshine during the few summer months. We are also looking into tinting for those that will reduce sun exposure but not obstruct the amazing view.
This was the perfect property for our stay in The Black Hills! The neighborhood is beautiful and is in close proximity to everything Lead and Deadwood have to offer. The house itself is incredible and a perfect setting for a getaway. The owners were great at communicating and made it seamless. We’ll be back!
