We loved our stay here! The house is simple and comfortable, with everything you need to settle in. What makes Hacienda Dominguez so special are the wonderful outdoor spaces. Tucked up against rimrock with great views over the Ortiz mountians, and incredible sunsets, we loved the hot tub tucked into the hillside, dining under the lights, and reading next to the pond and waterfall. It really felt like a hidden rustic resort - Exactly what we needed and wanted! Highly recommended!
The house is located in the most gorgeous setting - way off the beaten path. A gorgeous waterfall swimming pond is scenically viewed from the wall to wall windows with the red cliffs right behind. A hot tub only a few feet away. Ahhhh. The bed was comfy and using the wood burning fireplace for atmosphere was perfect. Lorenzo and Chelsea are the perfect hosts and invited me to help with the hops (think beer) at a neighbors’ ranch. What a treat to have an experience of the ranching community life here. Perfect in every way. I’ll be sorry to leave for Santa Fe today. But “I’ll be back!”

About the host
Hosted by Lorenzo Dominguez
Founded upon a dream of a healthier life closer to nature, Chelsea & Lorenzo (Chelenzo) moved to New Mexico from New York in 2021 with their family to plant regenerative roots in the Land of Enchantment.
Set in high desert mountains of Cerrillos, New Mexico, Hacienda Domínguez offers guests to experience a farm in action, as well as the opportunity to hike daily on 350 acres just east of the Turquoise Trail (Route 14) and directly above the Galisteo River Basin. Upon the land, nature lovers, hikers and outdoorsmen alike will discover arroyos, caves, mesmerizing 360 degree vistas of the mountains that surround Santa Fe, as well as awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets.
The Hacienda also offers other regenerative services in partnership with the mecca of holistic-minded neighbors and local businesses we have here in Cerrillos, including massage therapy, horseback riding, soil health workshops, soul-cleansing drum making, sweat hut ceremonies and herbal medicinal opportunities.
Chelenzo Farms is a work-in-progress and will offer visitors the opportunity to tour and experience an homestead in action. Applying permaculture and land conservation principles, the Dominguez Family aspire to rejuvenate the magical landscape into a flourishing rain garden and small scale farm replete with edible native plants and trees. Our animals include chickens, goats, and ducks (someday we'll have rabbits, horses and a donkey too!) also offer optional (if not, optimal) organic fresh nourishment for our guests.

What makes this property unique
Please note, Hacienda Dominguez & Chelenzo Farms is a start-up research farm, so you can observe our planning and farm infrastructure building in the spring; planting in the summer; and harvesting in the fall.
Farm activities occur 7 days a week, primarily M-F 9 AM - 4 PM, below the driveway and 200 feet away from the house. The backyard with the pond and waterfall, and hot tub are private and out of sight from the 1,000 square foot garden and conservation areas.
