About this property

Visit an Old Time Coal Miners Town! Minutes from Roslyn!

Visit the old town of Ronald, built in the late1880's just after No. 3 coal mine opened. The town was a supply center for miners and families. Minutes away from quaint Roslyn & Cle Elum, plus all the areas recreational activities, such as hiking trails, fishing, snow sports and more.
This home has all the cozy amenities that you will need for a fun vacation stay. The open floor plan has the LR, kitchen and dining area all in the main room. The primary bedroom has a small fort like loft on top for a child to play or sleep above their parents. The loft ladder pulls out for use & goes up against the wall, out of the way, when not in use. Another bedroom is accessed via a pull down "ladder" in the hallway. This ladder holds a total weight of 250 pounds. The upstairs has a desk for work, and is quite roomy except for the A-frame ceiling. Watch your head in some spots! You can gently close the ladder to keep heat focused to the lower level in winter.
The living room sofa has a bed that can be made into a queen size with mattress topper in the couch storage & linens on the hall shelf. Extra accent pillows from the couch, can be stored in the basket coffee table. Every inch of space is thought of for its use in a tiny space!
There is under cabinet lighting for the tiny kitchen & hallway shelf. There are mood setting candles above the kitchen counter. Lighting can be accessed with the remotes. Please turn (both) off when not in use.
There is a BBQ, corn hole & an outdoor fire pit & marshmallow skewers for spring, summer enjoyment.
There is a full size washer/dryer in the hallway and an old style bathroom at the end of the hall. Several upgrades have been made, while keeping the charm of old. There is a new refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, iron, hairdryer etc. More upgrades will be made in the future, but you can still imagine how miners lived back in the day.
There is a new good sized fenced front yard. But do keep an eye on your pets as cars do go by in the street. The speed limit is 25 MPH. Ronald is so close to the forest, there has been deer and bear sightings in town. Deer have hopped the fence to eat plums!
A trail just minutes walking distance, around the back of the fire station is a great place to ride your bikes, take your dog for a walk & can take you past Roslyn to Cle Elum! Watch out for loose neighboring dogs. Speelyi Beach is also just minutes away by car, towards Old #3. Drive right onto the beach for parking! Easy to find with GPS Maps. (See captions under photos).
The kitchen is fully stocked, with everything you need. The toaster, toaster oven and microwave are in the hall. There is a start up supply of TP, paper towels, trash bags etc. Should be enough to last a weekend! Longer stays may need to bring or shop in town.
Coffee, tea and hot chocolate, we try to keep in stock or bring your own favorites. Many ways to make it. There is a coffee grinder, a French press and a coffee maker. Small town grocery in each town or a Safeway in Cle Elum is a great way to stock up on essentials. Please leave some coffee for the next guest. We don't always have a way to keep it stocked.
There is Wi-Fi and a ROKU tv for free shows or bring your streaming passwords. Just enter your dates (as a guest) and it will automatically delete any streaming passwords that you use.

Please inform the host via your phone app of any problems or concerns upon arrival, so we can work to address these immediately. Please report any damages that occur during your stay. Not all damages will need to be paid for by you, we especially, really need to know so we can fix them.

If possible please message between the hours of 7am to 7pm. Anytime, if it's an emergency or dial 911. Host always tries to be available!

As the snow season approaches we especially recommend Travelers Insurance. "Insure My Trip" for any reason, is one place to order it. Refund policy is the policy. Insurance can protect your reservation should you need a refund. Bad weather, snow, the pass closes , you become ill, house loses power or Internet, or any other reason that you may not to be able to make it is not refundable. Please check the refund policy before booking.

We have some seasonal "minimum" stay requirements. Spring break, winter holiday, New Years Day & 3 day weekends, such as Martin Luther King, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Labor Day, 4th of July & Veterans Day are all 3 nights stay. Thanksgiving is a 4 night minimum stay. Unless only fewer nights are available.

HOUSE INFO & CARE:
Please see pet rules below if bringing a pet! Must be pre approved.

HOUSEKEEPING FEE: $110.00. This ensures that all the linens are clean, beds made & ready. Floors, the kitchen, bathroom and all sanitation has been done. Your starter pack of TP, paper towels, soaps, trash bags etc. have been stocked.

HEAT: There are 2 wall heaters on the main floor. One is under the window by the refrigerator, the other is in the bathroom. On Check Out, During the winter, please leave heaters on LOW. Leave turned off in summer.

There is a hatchet & sharpener for splitting wood, (chop outside please). A start up bundle will be provided. Please inform us if you would like to purchase additional bundles at $5.00 each, in advance of your reservation. It is a generous supply of about 6 to 7 logs. This goes to housekeeping for carrying inside. Do not take leftover wood with you. Bring your own fire starter, paper, etc. Do not bring your own wood, stove holds a certain size.
Do make sure there is no burn ban in effect for Kittitas County. No fires are allowed during a burn ban. Usually Aug - Oct depending on the weather.

Please turn off all lights, lower wall heater temperature, unplug portable heaters and close all windows & blinds.

COFFEE, CONDIMENTS: Feel free to use these while there. If you do use a lot of the coffee, tea or hot choc (or food), please replace, (or let us know we are out) so the next guests will have coffee/food items. We only keep squeezable condiments for guests in the fridge, to keep sanitary for our guests. Please let us know if we are out of anything.
CHECK OUT/CONDITION of HOME:
Please rinse your dishes before leaving & put in dishwasher. Flip clean or dirty sign. D/W soap pods are under the kitchen sink. Gently wipe off counters & stove. Please wash wine glasses, pots & pans by hand & put away.
Leave used beds unmade or leave sheets & towels next to washer/dryer in hall. Housekeeping loves when you start a load of towels, but please do not leave in washer. Start dryer cycle & you can leave in the dryer.
Leave comforters/quilts in the bedrooms they came in & do not remove covers. They are washed as needed or on a wash schedule. If one gets dirty, please leave the entire duvet or quilt in the hall by the washer. Guest will be charged for bleach or stains that damage pillowcases, sheets, towels etc.
Sofa: Please put back the memory foam bed topper, if used, back inside the storage section of the couch. Linens for sofa bed are on the hall shelf. Use the top & bottom sheet to keep the couch & comforter cover clean for the next guest. Be sure the front pull strap is left out.
There is a couch cover for dogs that are staying! If you need to use the couch for sleeping, feel free to remove the cover & leave folded to the side. Housekeeping can take care of putting it back on. it's very helpful in keeping the couch clean!

TRASH: You must remove your own trash or pay a removal fee. Minimum fee starts at $50.00. There is NO trash pick-up at this house.. When I stay, I separate my recycling from trash & take it all home to dispose of.
Trash can is hand sensor activated. Switch in back, can be turned off if you have a dog that may get into it.
PET FEE: Pet fee is $15.00 a night per pet. This will be charged separately after your reservation has been made.
There are doggy bowls, poop bags, high quality dog biscuits, toys, and blankets to cover the furniture/beds or for cuddles. Please bring your own pets favorite bed, blankets & toys or use ours. Check the fridg for home made dog biscuits!
PET RULES: Well behaved pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis. No more than 2 dogs. Please message host a photo & description. Such as breed, size, and temperament.
You cannot leave your pet alone in the home. You must crate or take with you. Please clean up the yard with poop bags. There is a lint roller and upholstery attachment for the vacuum cleaner on hall shelf.
Please recognize home is on main street, (State Route 903) & keep your pet contained inside the yard with the gate closed. Speed limit is 25MPH.
Note: Pet fee does not cover cleaning up after your pet or excessive hair. It's more like a low-cost boarding/extra guest fee covering wear & tear etc. Shedding, hair on furniture, pet pee (hope there is none!), & any other spots on furniture must be cleaned before you check out. Housekeeping only takes care of the standard cleaning of the home. If there is excessive cleaning, you will be charged an additional fee upwards of $35.00 that will go directly to housekeeping.
Any damage done by a pet; you are responsible for the full cost of repair. Bringing your pet means you have seen & agree to these rules.
We love responsible pet owners & well-mannered pets. It's great for you to enjoy your pets & have them with you, but it has to be comfortable for everybody concerned.
Any unauthorized pets, guest will be charged a $250 fee & reservation could be canceled.
OUTDOOR CAMERA: There is a camera facing the driveway for security, weather observation, road/driveway conditions.
CHECK OUT information is also on the wall next to the back door inside. No food or drinks upstairs. LADDER rules are on the wall in the hall. Read them!
Please take good care of my home! It can be fragile, don't force things. It's an old home & I hope you enjoy it with it's quirks & charm!

Perfect little spot for a quick weekend getaway for my partner and I. Warm, clean, comfortable, and a beautiful location, especially this fall-color time of year. Property contact was very accessible, helpful, and welcoming. Thank you!

I am a local real estate broker in WA state. I have managed, rented, worked with buyers & sellers for over the last 10 years. I work with buyers & sellers all over the PNW.
I would love to manage your STR property or help you get it ready for your STR platform. I can help with the furnishings, marketing & building your listing. I have experience with staging properties and can help from step A to Z to get your property ready to list or rent.

What makes this property unique

I purchased this property because of it's unique charm. Some of the other homes I looked at had been completely remodeled or complete disasters! I didn't need anything large, just a place to enjoy, not far from home. I'm hoping to continue to remodel & update as long as I can keep it cozy at the same time.
I've been to the site ruins of foundations where other homes had been & since torn down and some other historical buildings in town. It has such a sense of history and imagination of what it must have been like. The town is so small that these can be discovered with just a bit of exploring.
