Welcome to the Hillside Retreat! This 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom home can sleep up to 9 and is the perfect location for wine tasting, visiting the beach, or just hanging out with friends and family. We are kid and dog friendly and located a few minutes from the 101 freeway, so it`s a great launching pad for anywhere in Central California!
Our home is located on a quiet street in a small town called Atascadero. The two story home sits on the side of a hill and was renovated in 2021. You will enter into the living room with a flat screen TV and electric fireplace. The dining table seats 8 and the kitchen has a table with two barstools. We have one bedroom and bathroom downstairs and three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. The sliding door next to the dining table leads to an outdoor deck with a lounge seating area in addition to a giant game of connect four.
PLEASE NOTE: Since the home is on the side of a hill, there are 12-14 steps to get to the front door. Unfortunately, the property is not ADA friendly and if it would be difficult for someone in your group to access the front door, we kindly ask that you look for another home that is more flat.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
1. Downstairs King Bedroom. There is a full bathroom right next to this bedroom.
2. Upstairs Queen Bedroom. Bedrooms 2&3 share a jack and hill bathroom in between the two rooms.
3. Upstairs Queen Bedroom. Bedrooms 2&3 share a jack and hill bathroom in between the two rooms.
4. Upstairs Kids Room with a bunk bed with three twin mattresses. This room has an en suite bathroom.
GUEST AMENITIES:
Each bathroom includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and lotion for our guests to enjoy.
KITCHEN:
We have all your basic cooking needs, including utensils, plates, and bowls for adults and children. There is also a toaster, microwave and a Keurig machine with some K cups. Please note that while we do provide all your basic cooking needs, the kitchen is on the smaller side.
OUTDOOR:
There is an outdoor deck behind the dining table with outdoor seating and a giant connect four game.
CHILDREN SAFETY:
Please ensure children are carefully watched at all times, especially in the backyard, which is sloped. We are not responsible for any injuries or accidents during your stay.
OTHER:
Central CA occasionally has PG&E power outages. These outages typically last only 1-2 hours. We will provide you with the same updates we get from PG&E. We appreciate your understanding if this happens during your stay.
We have two exterior cameras to ensure the property is safe at all times. One is by the parking area and the other one is by the large deck.
Our home is in a residential neighborhood and also has a country feel. You will often see deer roaming the streets and lizards in the front and back yard. Occasionally, the lizards may enter the home when the doors are open. The lizards are harmless and you can scoop them up with a cup and put them outside. In addition, a pest control company services our home every other month, but it is natural for some insects to make it into the home when the doors are open. We appreciate your understanding of this.
The guests will have access to the entire house.
Please note that we share the bottom part of our driveway with our neighbor. Our house is the grey one on the LEFT side.
PETS:
We welcome up to two house trained dogs for an additional $125 per dog. We appreciate you keeping an eye on your dogs and kindly ask that they do not jump on the beds and furniture. Dogs should be crated inside the home when owners are out. Damage to the property will incur additional charges.
HOUSE RULES:
- QUIET HOURS: The neighborhood Noise Curfew starts at 10pm. Please be respectful of our neighbors and bring your conversations indoors by 10pm. If you wish to play music outdoors, it must be appropriate for a family friendly neighborhood.
- NO SMOKING: No smoking of any kind (cigarettes, vapors, marijuana, etc) indoors. If you smoke outdoors, please pick up after yourself.
- NO UNREGISTERED GUESTS: A max of 9 guests are allowed and all guests must be a part of your reservation.
- OTHER: Removing shoes indoors helps us maintain a clean home. Do not flush sanitary items down the toilet. The house is on a septic system so toilets will get clogged if anything other than toilet paper is flushed.
EARLY CHECK IN / LATE CHECK OUT:
We offer early check in and late check out when we do not have another reservation checking in or out that same day. You can check in as early as 12pm and check out as late as 3pm for an additional $50 each. Please request early check in / late check out within 24 hours of your check in date so we can check out most up to date calendar to see if we can accommodate your request.
If you`d like to guarantee an early check in / late check out, we can block the day before /after for $100.
RENTAL AGREEMENT & CHECK IN PROCESS
Guests are required to sign a short-term rental agreement prior to check-in. The agreement outlines house rules, liability, and property use. We also ask guests to provide an ID and CC upon booking. These additional security measures had to be implemented to prevent fraudulent bookings. A link with all of this information will be provided upon booking. If you are not comfortable with any of this information, you are welcome to cancel within 24 hours of booking as long as it`s not a same day booking.
