The house is beautiful and well maintained, but the experience was overshadowed by the host’s approach. It felt like they weren’t ready to rent out their home. The number of rules and restrictions was overwhelming, and locked drawers and chained doors created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Basic amenities like soap, shampoo, coffee, and tea were missing, forcing us to shop instead of enjoying a simple morning. The heating system was a major issue—freezing downstairs (55F) and unbearably hot upstairs (90F), despite following instructions. The host even admitted this problem upfront. Entertainment was limited: no streaming logins allowed, only an HDMI cord option, which isn’t practical for most travelers. What’s most concerning is that these limitations were revealed only after booking and on arrival, leaving no chance to make an informed decision. While the hosts were friendly and responsive, the experience lacked a hospitality mindset. If renting continues, I strongly recommend rethinking the approach: provide basic amenities, fix heating, and allow entertainment access. A rental should feel welcoming, not restrictive
