A cozy retreat right in the city with a big deck and view of the mountains. Enjoy this incredibly clean, well-equipped home conveniently located 6 minutes drive from downtown Flagstaff. Its unique hillside location is quiet and beautiful, set amongst the pines with an incredible Mountain View. Has a furnished private deck to enjoy the city and Mountain Views. The quaint neighborhood it is located in is just 1.6 miles from downtown and near to lots of stores, restaurants, and coffee shops. Everything is newly decorated and updated - it’s gorgeous and super cozy! We thought of everything (we think!) to make your stay easy including lots of coffee and condiments. As our reviews reflect, the home is ready for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing in. Our guidebook includes ways to enjoy the town from "professional locals" who have spent tons of time taking out-of-town relatives to all the best sights. Flagstaff is perfectly situated to stay in during trips to Grand Canyon, Sedona, Petrified Forest, Sunset crater, and more.

Enjoy the quiet deck with amazing city and nature views from the large furnished deck and the living/dining area. Grill and relax on the covered landscaped patio or play ping pong! Parking for up to 3 vehicles in the private driveway! The newly renovated kitchen and living room has large windows opening up to a gorgeous view where you can relax and take in the mountain air and watch city lights or pines and peaks. We have equipped the home with lots of games and every amenity we could think of for both kids and adults including a ping pong table. The home is 100% pet-free. It has never had a pet living in it, and since it is kept extremely clean it's great for people with pet or dander allergies. It's in a neighborhood only a few minutes from downtown. A great place to stay if you're wanting fast access to Downtown Flagstaff, NAU, Snowbowl ski area or if you want to do day trips to Grand Canyon, Sedona, the Petrified Forest, and more!

GREAT LOCATION:
The house is only a 3-5 minute drive from downtown Flagstaff and 7 minutes from NAU's campus. It is in walking distance of restaurants, stores and forest service trails that have some of the countries best hiking and biking (one is accessible from the end of the street). We are a 15 minute drive from Snowbowl ski area and 1.25 hours from Grand Canyon and 20 minutes from Oak Creek Canyon & Sedona. The nearby shopping district has lots of great coffee shops and locally owned restaurants as well as national chains.

WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN & GRILL
We have equipped it with everything you'll need for cooking including cutlery, pots and pans, crock pots, serving dishes, and spices and condiments. Ready too cook just like you were home! We also have lots of coffee and all the goodies to go in it. We supply ground coffee, but there’s a keurig too if you’d like to bring your own pods. The dining area seats 6, but there are two extra chairs in the closet for additional guests.

BATHROOMS
Our bathrooms have plenty of towels and washcloths as well as conditioner, shampoo, lotion and soap.

SLEEPING
The king bedroom has a luxury Leesa king sized bed, and the two other bedrooms have each got queen beds. We also have a full size air mattress in addition to the beds for additional sleeping space. We have plenty of extra pillows and blankets.

AIR CONDITIONING
The two upstairs bedrooms are equipped with new AC units for use in the summer months. The house is north/south facing and with open windows the lower story stays cool with use of the fans even in the couple of weeks that gets really hot here in Flagstaff. (And yes, open windows are safe).

EQUIPPED FOR KIDS
We are equipped with a pack n' play, toys and high chair for guests with small children. Our closets are packed with games.

COUPONS & PERKS
The guest book includes great coupons for nearby restaurants and activities in Flagstaff, Grand Canyon and Sedona.

INTERNET & TV
Our house has high speed internet/WiFi and Antenna TV as well as Amazon fire so you can sign into your own movie apps.

EXTRAS
We have camp chairs, a cooler and yoga mats free for you to borrow for your excursions.

The kitchen had all the basics needed for making and serving a meal. We loved the coffee maker, and it was nice the owners had coffee grounds available. The house is spacious, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed are stay. Our hosts were wonderful, and we would recommend the, Mountain View Retreat.

It’s a nice house in a great location. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet at night. We (6 of us) all enjoyed the hiking trails nearby, and enjoyed cooking in a very functional kitchen. We definitely will go back again in the future. The only drawback was that there was no bathroom downstairs besides the one in the master bedroom and was inconvenient for anyone staying downstairs at night.

Best place to stay!

I have stayed at multiple vacation homes but this one was by far the best one! House was clean and well equipped. I would stay there again if we get an opportunity to go that way 😊

Great home away from home!

We had an amazing trip exploring all of the areas in and around Flagstaff. We stayed pretty busy, but it was great having a place to relax and hang out in the evenings that was so comfortable and homey!

Beautiful house and great hosts

We had a wonderful time in this house! Very well designed, clean and comfortable beds. The host’s guide book is filled with great information and fabulous recommendations . They made sure that we have everything we needed. The house is perfectly located to see the Grand Canyon and Sedona .

This home was the Best!!

We loved this home! It had everything we needed and the location is so close to shopping but made you feel so secluded amongst the pine trees and view of the mountains. The beds were very comfy and we loved the open design of the home. We would definitely rent this home if we came back to Flagstaff! Thank you Vanessa and Sarah!! (They even left us delicious chocolate chip cookies upon our arrival!)

Amazing Experience

This home is beautiful and well maintained. It has all of the items you could need in the laundry room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Big bonus for me was the fan I found in the closet since I’m a very hot sleeper! The location is perfect with nice views. The owner is extremely responsive. We had a great time! Angie W.

Wonderful house with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains! The first thing we noticed when walking in was how clean and comfortable the Neal's place was, like walking into your own home. The three bedrooms had very nice beds that all in our group slept great on. Everything you could possibly need is provided, we especially loved having access to the baby gate and high chair for our little one. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone! Thanks for a perfect stay! (P.s. the scones were delicious)

Beautifully renovated home situated on a quiet, conveniently located neighborhood

My wife and I, along with a few close friends, stayed here for two nights for a weekend ski trip. We were all very pleasantly surprised by the state of the rental property. It has been very recently renovated and is immaculate. I was also pleasantly surprised that it was very private! The rental owners kept an open line of communication. They were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable in every way. They left us a card and flowers (it was my wife and my anniversay) which was very much appreciated. They even came early one morning to shovel the driveway for us after a long nights snow! I highly recommend this rental. Our stay was perfect. Hope yours is too.

So much snow!

We loved our quick visit to the snow from phx. We were super close to free sledding at Foxglenn park and the house was warm and very cute when we arrived. It was a bit of a challenge to get to with all the ice and snow on the steep hills. We got stuck in the neighborhood but a really kind neighbor helped us out. The driveway was a bit scary bc of the snow but it was cleared when we arrived. There were a few ice patches which made it a challenge for us to get the car in and out but other than that, it was a great visit! We ended up parking at the top of the drive to avoid getting stuck at the bottom.

Fantastic place

We were all very happy with our stay at Gorgeous Hillside Home. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making sure their guests are comfortable. They even left us some welcome goodies which was so nice and tasty. They have an awesome guestbook with lots of suggestions for places to visit, restaurants, home instructions, etc... Everything is very clean, very new, and the view of the mountain from the living room and the deck is just beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and there were lots of board games for the kids and the family to enjoy together. It’s a very short distance to downtown Flagstaff and there’s easy access from this Flagstaff location to the Grand Canyon. Having two bathrooms was nice so we didn’t need to share with the kids and no need to rush everyone through showers to be on time. The home is quite spacious and would have easily accommodated a few more people than our family or four with no problem. Thanks so much Neal family. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and stay here again on our next visit! Kurtz family

The review forced a comment on the skiing, but we didn't ski, so that part isn't accurate. I'm sure it's great though.Overall a nice house, just a little run down feeling with worn furnishings. We couldn't figure out how to turn a few lights on. The house is "decorated" with lots of lists of rules which was sort of strange/not welcoming. The coffee maker was missing a lid on the carafe which significantly impacts it's functionality. Overall, not big deal. However, the accuracy of the listing was poor. We literally chose this place because the pictures showed a ping pong table and we had some ping-pong loving teens with us who were looking forward to using it. It was not there at all. So, not a super accurate depiction in the pictures.

Location was excellent - short drive into town, trails easily accessible by foot, beautiful view. Layout of the house worked well for 2 families with 3 kids. The back deck is great for coffee in the morning or winding down in the evening. The house does seem more worn-in than the pictures reflect - it's not quite as polished as it probably once was and it doesn't have the ping-pong table or all of the outdoor seating areas. That said, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful hillside home

This home was perfect for my family of 5. Location was reallyclose to Downtown Flagstaff where we were able to walk around shops and eat some really good food. The house was beautifully decorated and pleasantly clean and comfortable. The backpatio was very nice to sit out on and relax! It was a quick trip for us and we wish we could have stayed longer as it was a gem to find this place! Next time we visit Flagstaff i would love to stay here again!

We built and raised our kids in this beautiful spot. As frequent travelers and VRBO guests ourselves, we were inspired to renovate and convert the house into a retreat. We hope people will enjoy the fantastic location and the gorgeous views from a deck that brought us thousands of hours of enjoyment! We have tried to equip it with everyone one can think of for your stay especially those traveling with families.

Why they chose this property

The views, the proximity to downtown, the quiet private lot, and of course the gorgeous decor that we put our hearts into. It is also fully equipped with everything you can think of for cooking, laundry, sleeping and having fun.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy our large private deck amongst the pines. Furnished to relax or dine outside or in. Also has covered front porch furnished to enjoy in rainy weather and play ping pong on. As an added bonus, this house is right near everything but still feels private amongst the trees on the hillside! There is nearby trail access for mountain biking and hiking at the end of the street. Great spot to visit Flagstaff, Grand Canyon and Sedona from. Our bedrooms have brand new mattresses. We have furnished the house for comfort and convenience and have taken care to include "locals" tips and treats for your visit.
