Designed for living inside and out, it combines charm, natural materials, freshness, a large garden with trees and modern comfort, only a few minutes from the beaches and the very lively centre of Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc.
THE HOUSE
It will welcome you with a pleasant north-facing veranda, which directly leads to the kitchen, and a large entrance, a buffer space perfectly isolating its day and night side, for the respect of the different rhythms of life of its occupants.
Day side:
A beautiful living room of 42 m2 with 127 cm SAMSUNG Plasma TV and a dining area opening onto the intimate terrace and the east-facing part of the garden, with garden furniture, dining area.
A separate fully equipped kitchen, with washing machine and dryer completes this living space.
Overlooking the entrance, a large bathroom with bath, sink and a toilet.
On the night side, served by a large bright corridor:
Two bedrooms with 160 beds, and two with bunk beds (i.e. 4 single beds).
A bathroom with a Moroccan atmosphere, with a large walk-in shower, a sink and a separate toilet.
An exceptional environment, only 10 minutes walk from the centre of ST-VIVIEN-DE-MÉDOC, with all amenities in the surroundings, its astonishing disparate church, which will not leave you indifferent, its superb year-round market on Wednesday mornings, and its other festive night market on Sunday evenings in season, its shops, its Beau-Bourg art gallery, and its charming little port with restaurants in season (traditional, creperie, seafood), starting point for canoeing, kayaking and jet-skiing excursions. Don't miss the visit of the Spirulina production of the Pointe d'Argent and the tasting of the oysters matured in Médoc Gigas Méduli at the Ferme Eau Médoc, products also present on the Wednesday morning market.

Staying on the Pointe du Médoc
The west side, by the D1215 and the transversal roads:
- the other part of ST VIVIEN, then 5 km GRAYAN-ET-L'HÔPITAL, peaceful village and its beautiful Gurp beach (10 km from the house) with its colourful blockhouses tagged on the beach, its annual off-road motorcycle racing event, the Gurp-TT in mid-January. Don't miss out on tasting the best mussels and chips and burgers in the region in the village at the Relax-Café, a family and surfer atmosphere with mini-golf offered.
- 4.5 km away, VENSAC, its mill and mounaques in the heart of the village which will enchant the little ones.PGJyPg
The north side, by the D1215:
- at 6 km, or also by the port road, TALAIS and its old oyster port with white and blue huts of craftsmen and restaurateurs (seafood, oysters, prawns), starting point of a cycle and pedestrian path that leads to the marsh and the dike of the estuary.
- 15 km, SOULAC-SUR-MER, its basilica of Notre Dame de la fin des Terres listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, its majestic "Soulacaises" houses with brick facings and blue shutters, its covered market every morning, its pedestrian street in season, its Oceanic cinema, its small shops, restaurants, bookshops, ice cream parlours, its pretty seafront where you will no longer see the mythical and awful Signal, a building from the 60s damaged by the retreat of the coastline and dismantled in January 2023... To be noted, the annual Belle Epoque event Soulac 1900, at the end of May.
- 18km away, the VERDON-SUR-MER with its beaches, the Océane des Piscines and the Estuarine de la Chambrette, its oyster port, the Port-Médoc marina and further on the Pointe-de-Grave and Port-Bloc, the ferry pier for Royan.
In Port-Médoc, board the Vedettes La Bohème 20 minutes from the house to visit the sublime Phare de CORDOUAN, King of Lighthouses and Lighthouse of the Kings, the only lighthouse at sea still guarded and accessible to visitors in the world, recently classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site (reservation well in advance strongly recommended), and its sandbank which has been sculpted over the years and has nothing to envy to the Banc d'Arguin in the Arcachon basin.
A little further... by the superb crossing of the estuary provided by 2 ferries from the Verdon (about 20 minutes):
- ROYAN (its modern cathedral, its circular market, its port, its seasonal and year-round shops)
- to the east and south-east: MESCHERS and its cliffs, caves and troglodyte dwellings, TALMONT-SUR-GIRONDE, one of the most beautiful villages in France, its carrelets and its fortified church overlooking the estuary, SAINTES and all the other beautiful villages and riches of Saintonge,
- to the north-west: LA PALMYRE and its zoo, MARENNES (Cité de l'Huître), the Train des Mouettes (steam locomotive between Saujon and La Tremblade) the island of OLÉRON, the island of AIX, the island of Ré, the Fort-Boyard, LA ROCHELLE, etc.
On the Médoc Atlantic side, to the south:
- via the D1215 then the D102 transverse, 12 km away, VENDAYS-MONTALIVET, its Carrefour Market, its market town, then at the roundabout,
- either following due west the D102, MONTALIVET, its seasonal shops and restaurants, its huge market every morning in season, and the unmissable Monta Car Old School 2nd half of May, Show-bike last weekend of June.
- or due south by the D101 Route des Lacs NAUJAC-SUR-MER / SAINT-ISIDORE (Pin Sec beach, Animalia Parc Accrobranche).
- then 30 km HOURTIN and its 3 sites
HOURTIN LAKE:
- Hourtin Port, family resort par excellence, with its shallow flat and fresh water lake up to 300 m from the shore, ideal for learning water activities, its shops, restaurants, and leisure activities: beaches with supervised swimming or barely further away to believe yourself alone in the world in a wild setting at the end during the day, sailing, kitesurfing + school, paddle, pedal boat, canoe, kayak, windsurfing, fishing, boat trips, catamaran, wakeboard, skatepark, bike rental, horse riding + school, tennis, hiking, night market on Friday evening (July and August), seasonal entertainment on the Port and the Ile aux Enfants, a fun paradise for young and old. For the more sporty, tour of the lake possible by mountain bike, 57 km loop.
- On the other side of the lake, the exceptional site of PIQUEYROT not to be missed: catering and water activities but the water is deep, and therefore less suitable for children and beginners.
- A little further south of Hourtin, discover the place called LACHANAU (not to be confused with Lacanau) and its small fishermen's houses, its wild beach, and its kitesurfing spot (the only 2 on the lake with the one at the port).
HOURTIN BOURG: all shops (including Carrefour open 7 days a week in season unfortunately burned down on 08/03/26), medical centre, tourist office, superb market on Thursday mornings all year round, and on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings in July and August, and its Lou Hapchot cinema.
HOURTIN PLAGE, shops, restaurants, and leisure activities: supervised swimming, surfing + school, cycling (by cycle path 45 minutes from the house), hiking, seasonal entertainment, night market on Monday evenings (July and August).
- continuing further south: CARCANS-MAUBUISSON, the southern tip of the lake, and Bombannes, its leisure centre, to the south-west of the lake, LACANAU lake and ocean (its golf courses and its Lacanau Pro in mid-August, the only French stage of the Surfing World Cup), the ARCACHON basin.
On the central and estuarine Médoc side, via the D1215:
- 15 km LESPARRE-MÉDOC, heart of the peninsula and sub-prefecture, its Tour de l'Honneur classified as a historical monument, its neo-Gothic style churches, and its Jean Dujardin cinema.
- Its neighbouring communes, GAILLAN-EN-MÉDOC (cooperative cellar Les Vignerons d'Uni-Médoc and barrel cellar), BLAIGNAN-PRIGNAC (Les Noisettines du Médoc specialities), ORDONNAC, CIVRAC-EN-MÉDOC, COUQUÈQUES (transformist cabaret not to be missed), BÉGADAN.
On the Médoc estuarine side, take the picturesque Route des Châteaux or Route du Vin (D2) to the east, starting from St-Vivien-de-Médoc:
- JAU-DIGNAC-ET-LOIRAC, the Port de Richard, its Lighthouse (breathtaking 360° view), its Museum (open from March to October) and its fishermen's carrelets lined up. Great photos guaranteed!
- VALEYRAC and the pretty Port de Goulée overlooking the estuary
- PORT-DE-BY and its Tower belonging to Château La-Tour-de-By, free visits
- SAINT-CHRISTOLY-MÉDOC and the superb restaurant La Maison du Douanier
