This was the worst experience I ever had with VRBO. The realtor that managed the property never once replied to my questions or concerns. The stair case was extremely moldy (smell) the a/c was not working upstairs.

Enjoyed our stay

We had a lot of fun. We rent a lot in the area and loved the house and this is the first time we had to pick up keys for a property which added time to the trip. Besides that the trip was a good one.

You had to drive 30 minutes to pick up keys, I have rented handfuls of times at places in this area with a lockbox or key code…absolutely unnecessary. Our AC was not working but the management company was very helpful in brining fans as it could not be repaired during our stay (thankfully it was not during summer); you would think though if you’re paying a place to manage and even hold physical keys they would make sure it’s working. The house photos are highly better the physical accommodations, it’s just a very worn rental house that needs simple care from the elements.

A little bad internet and a broken bed

A couple of issues , one broken bed was before we arrive, an one tv didn't work on the master bedroom and some internet problem

Reel me in Beach House

The house was nicely located with lots of beds but the AC does cool off the top level so it stays very hot. The fridge was outdated and did not have a microwave and it was not cleaned deeply. Found trash in several areas and behind furniture. Electrical outlet did not work in one of the rooms and it needs a paint job badly. cabinets and walls. Very expensive for the condition.

Beautiful home but could use a few things

This is a really beautiful home with lots of space for everyone, and plenty of bathrooms too! Just missing a few creature comforts like an icemaker, better pots and pans in the kitchen, and maybe a fish cleaning station downstairs. Some other suggestions might be stairs coming off the outside deck, and although obviously costly, a second AC unit for the upstairs would do wonders for cooling down those bedrooms, and I’m guessing for the electric bill as well. The back doors to the deck would not lock properly, or even stay closed, which added to the problem of not keeping the house cool (we did report that to Ryson). Also, we have rented many houses over the years, and it has been a very long time since we’ve had to actually stop at an office and pick up/drop off keys. Keyless entry would be amazing. We did have a wonderful time though, and really enjoyed all of the fireworks off the deck on the Fourth of July! We love Galveston and Sea Isle is a really neat community.

A work in progress

This is a lovely house and slept our party of 13 perfectly. Beds, sheets and towels as well as living space was great. However it needs some basic supplies besides coffee filters to be ready for guests. We were supplied with two kitchen trash bags, a sample size of dish soap, a roll and a half of paper towels, two pods for the dishwasher (that didn’t work) and one dollar store, cheap kitchen towel. For 3 nights and 13 people these basics were less than adequate. Please go to WalMart and buy a large box of everything so your renters have enough items to keep your place clean. You also need a dish drying rack for items that do not go in the dishwasher. We put the trash cans out on Sunday, which were already full when we checked in, and when we left this morning they had not been emptied by the trash company (all the neighbors cans had). Guests also need to be aware that there are no beach towels or condiments of any kind available, and that once you pass the Walmart there is no main grocery store. We left some kids beach toys and a boogie board. Overall all the family had a good time and there was plenty of space.

We arrived late Thursday night, hoping to get a good night’s rest before our friends arrived the next day. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the house, we noticed a very strong musty smell, like dust and an old house that had not been cleaned or used for a long time. The floors and furniture were dusty, and the house did not feel clean.Getting into the house was also difficult. There is only a very narrow outdoor staircase, making it hard and unsafe to carry luggage, coolers, or other heavy items upstairs. In addition, the outside of the house was very dark with very little lighting at night.The master bedroom was another disappointment. The bed was dirty, and we found dust on the bedding. I ended up washing the sheets myself because I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping on them. We also discovered that one side of the bed frame was broken, causing the mattress to sink.That first night, the air conditioner stopped working, and we also discovered water leaking downstairs. We contacted the property manager, but because it was late, no one could come immediately. The air conditioner eventually started working again on its own, but it continued shutting off throughout our stay.The next morning, we reported all of the issues. Someone came to replace the sheets, which helped with the smell somewhat, but the house was still dusty. Later, when our friends arrived, we gave them the master bedroom and moved to another bedroom, only to find that bed was also damaged and sagging

Frustrating

We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Sea Isle. This community is so sweet and very well maintained. Check in is 20 plus minutes away from the property. I HIGHLY recommend they add a digital code key for the property! This was very inconvienent. We arrived to the area early, and were not allowed to check in early, even though we offered to pay a fee. We were told that they house wasn't ready at 2pm for a 4pm check in. Thinking that they house was still being cleaned, we anticipated a sparkling and great smelling home. The house has an awful odor of mold and mustiness. It was clear that no one had been in the house recently. The floors were not swept and as I stated, it had a very old/musty/closed up odor. The next day, were were eating breakfast and some family members were showering. We noticed a water bubble in the sheet rock. Then all of a sudden, water started dripping from the ceiling/cabinet area of the kitchen. We couldn't figure out where the water was coming from. It wasn't pouring, but was steady drip for a while. We called maintenance, and the man who showed up was pretty clueless. He didn't fix anything and just said if it starts leaking again, let us know. Well, ok.... Check out is at 10am... so, if you're more than 4-5 people staying in a home that you've brought food, clothes, etc... it takes a bit to clean everything up. We all got up and worked hard to be out of the house prior to 10am and then hustled to turn in the keys to the office. Only once I arrived to the office, it was closed and we just had a key drop off. Kitchen chairs were broken, outside furniture is not nicely arrange upon our arrival, there was a stain on the living room couch, the upstairs "game room" couch isn't even a seat. No one older than a child could sit there. The doorways are extremely narrow... especially in the bunk room. Our family enjoyed each other and our time, but would have had a much better experience if the house was nicely kept, updated, aired out, free of leaks and broken/stained furniture. My hope is that this honest review will be seen by the owners so that they can understand that the management company is not caring for the home, and it is desperate need of repair.

Lovely property,met my family's needs had to buy dishwashing soap, could use a few more boardgames.

Enjoyed the property. Only real problem was the onslaught of mosquitoes which was beyond your control and not your fault however spraying in the neighborhood would have helped.

Great house!

We enjoyed our stay at this house. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms make it ideal for a large crowd. I do suggest new pots and pans for the kitchen or bring your own if you plan on cooking big meals. A fish cleaning station would also be a great addition.

Perfect long weekend

We went with our kids and grandkids (14 of us total) for the weekend. This was a great house for all of us with lots of space to spread out. Especially loved the fence that kept our youngest grandkids from the water. We were always with them downstairs but it wasn’t as nerve racking. They could still fish but not so worried about one wrong step and them falling in. The yard is completely fenced in Loved that the decks also had no stair access. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of towels for everyone. We will definitely go back again and hopefully be able to stay longer.
