About this property
Prime sunsets, great kayaking, huge yard, volleyball court, and free firewood
Porch Time is a perfect gathering space for couples, families, and friends looking to enjoy a comfortable new house with unique outdoor spaces and "perfect sunset views" of Little Sturgeon Bay from the massive covered porch that spans the entire length of the house or through large glass doors in the great room and bedrooms. The house is easily accessible with 36" doors all on 1 level and is well equipped with all linens, towels, soaps, spices, games, puzzles, TV, and reliable WiFi.
Only 45 minutes from Green Bay and 15 to Sturgeon Bay.
The modern kitchen with large island overlooks the great room and is perfect for food prep and conversation. All the pots, pans, utensils, and casseroles are provided as well as a well stocked coffee bar with a coffee maker, ground coffee, filters, and a grinder. The great room comfortably accommodates TV watching or game playing on the ornate coffee table and seating for 8 at the dining room table.
We can accommodate 6 adults comfortably in the 3 bedrooms. 2 bedrooms have queen beds and the primary suite has a king bed. The primary suite also has a full sized futon AND a set of twin sized bunk beds in over sized walk in closet. Both the futon and the bunk beds work great for kids, but can accommodate adults as well. We also have a queen size mattress under the king bed available which can be placed in the great room or in the primary suite. Bedroom 2 also has a twin sized futon that comfortably accommodates 1 person.
The covered porch highlights the property. You can spend an entire day here in the comfortable patio furniture watching the boats and wildlife, eating your meals, sampling from your cooler, and then enjoying the setting sun.
Grill up your food on the gas grill (with propane provided) and enjoy eating outside.
There is also a protected sitting area outside the front entrance for days when there's a strong wind off the lake.
In the large yard, you can enjoy sun or shade (there is plenty of each!), play any of the provided yard games, enjoy volleyball or badminton (net is set up May -October), commune around the large fire pit (wood provided), hang out in one of the provided hammocks, or simply relax on the waterfront.

A seawall protects the waterfront with large rocks in the water and a flat, lighted walkway on the house side. The walkway provides an incredible vantage point for the expansive views of the bay.
You can easily access the water through an opening in the wall. We provide 2 kayaks and other items to enjoy the water. There are stairs crafted from large rocks leading into the water and is shallow but rocky and there are weed patches. The swimming here is great!
You may also use the 2 car attached garage and garage door openers.

Fantastic area with hiking, restaurants, golf, biking, county and state parks, boating, fishing, shopping, farms, orchards, all close Sturgeon Bay, Door County's largest and most vibrant city. There is also a friendly bar with great food and incredible views across the street! Check it out, it's called Sunset on Riley's Point.
Head to Sturgeon Bay and don't miss the Saturday morning Farmer's Market in summer and fall! Throughout the year, you can stroll through downtown and enjoy great shopping, food, and drinks. Be sure to walk across the steel bridge and enjoy the great views of nature, yachts, industry, and the wonderful collection of people that live in and visit this special place.
Viewing the North Pierhead lighthouse by walking out on the break wall jutting into Lake Michigan on the north side of the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal can make for a memorable experience and should not be missed. This may be the more photogenic place in all of Door County!
Don't miss Potawatomi State Park if you are looking for mountain biking, a boat launch, an invigorating hike (Hemlock Trail) or a challenging ski when there is snow.
Looking for a beach? Head to Haines County Park, just 2 miles away. The sand, sun, and water can not be beat here. This is a real Door County treasure!
Of course, you can always head north of Sturgeon Bay if you are looking for more shopping, dining, hiking, and beautiful shorelines.
Rileys Point is situated between Rileys Bay and Little Sturgeon Bay. We say “get to The Point!” meaning Rileys Point. Once you’ve been to The Point, you’ll understand what makes this area, and especially this property, very special.

About the host
Hosted by Scott Fuller
I have been visiting Door County as often as possible my entire life to visit family and to enjoy the special lifestyle here. I enjoy sharing my love for this special place and providing opportunities for others to experience a bit of that magic. This is our 2nd property available to rent in Southern Door county and I couldn't be more thrilled about this exciting journey. When I'm not working, you can find me biking, paddling, or enjoying a great meal with my wife or family in the back corners of the county.
Why they chose this property
Our family has always enjoyed "porch time" to relax, share stories from the day, and plan for the next adventure. We fell in love with this property when we first encountered it because of the west facing covered porch that's perfect for sitting to gather and enjoying the sunset.
What makes this property unique
We love this part of Door County with its slower pace and immense beauty. This house has been everything we dreamed it would be centered around the great room and kitchen. We are so excited to share it with others when we are not able to be there ourselves!
