Quaint & Fun Blue Lake Springs Vacation Cabin in Arnold, Ca
My Father built the Sopinski Cabin in 1979 where my family spent summers, winters & weekends during my growing up years. This wonderful place provided for my sister and me a childhood filled with fun, activity, sports & memories that my family would like to now share with you.
Our cabin is located on a level lot at a 4000 ft elevation in Arnold, CA. We are within minutes from Big Trees State Park, Bear Valley Ski Resort, historic Murphys, Angel's Camp & Sonora. With a wrap-around deck surrounded by pines, our cabin provides an ideal spot to enjoy all the Sierra's have to offer without the hassle of too much snow, traffic or isolation. We are walking distance to many activities and only a minute's drive to many more. Our cabin is ideal for families, pets & adults who wish to go, go, go or just relax on the deck. Whatever your vacation's needs, you can find them here at the Sopinski-Waterman Cabin.
Thank you for your interest in our home and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We love this cabin, it has everything you could ask for and is so comfortable for our family! The host is very responsive and we hope to stay here again the next time we need a getaway!
The cabin is super cute, spacious, comfortable and in an amazing setting. Our group felt very impressed about how thoughtfully organized and stocked everything was. Steve, the host, was very prompt and helpful with all our questions. We are hoping to come back again.

We really enjoyed this spot! The back porch in the morning and evening was really lovely. It would be a great place to stay in winter because there are plenty of games and a nice fireplace.
Steve is a great host, fast at communication and has thought of everything you could need in the home. Really appreciated how thoughtful he has it set up, fun antique decor, stocked pantry, games, books, lots of stuff for summer activities and kitchen has everything you could need for cooking. Extremely clean home and spacious. We visited during winter storm when there was a lot of snow and this location is not that far from 4, they plow the main road this location is off of and the road the house is on so that was really helpful to access it. We appreciated the porch being enclosed for our little dogs. We hope to return during summer months to explore the area more and it seems like a beautiful spot for it. Thank you again.
This was a dream cabin for us!! It was clean, comfortable, family (and dog) friendly. The kitchen was better stocked than our own and we enjoyed cooking meals there. We spent a lot of time on the deck and ate all our meals out there. Bedrooms were very comfy and bathrooms were very clean! The neighborhood was quiet. The trees around the cabin were beautiful and felt like we had privacy. Thank you to Steve for making sure that we had all the info about the cabin and the area- everything worked out really well!

Great location! My children were very pleased and excited to be here. It was great playing board games by the fireplace. The reception nor Wi-Fi was the greatest if your coming for a work from home weekend but it’s just what we needed to have a nice relaxing weekend. Very cozy and comfy!

Awesome and accommodating Owner. Steve was very considerate towards our request for early check-In as we just had to drop our little dog in the morning as we were heading out to Bear Valley for snowmobile fun.
Great location and clean property. Kids had great time playing table and board games. This was my third stay at Steve’s cabin and all the stays have Been memorable and fun.
Thank you Steve for being such a great host.

Kitchen is a disaster.
Furniture worn out. Kitchen stove has 2 lopsided burners, needs a dishwasher, refer has old condiments, dirty old everything for cooking and eating. Outdoor grill is doesn't work. Carpet so stained and dirty, cabin needs a deep cleaning. Everything is very old and worn out. Great area surroundings, beautiful area This cabin is an over priced dump.

Lori, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the condition of our cabin. I am quite surprised since we have had a lot of renters, all with positive reviews. I would have appreciated a phone call or text while you were there as I could have had the cleaners come by to clean up. Also, on our VRBO site, we do not list dishwasher under "Amenities" and from the photos it is obvious that there isn't a dishwasher, so that shouldn't have come as a surprise. The carpets were professionally cleaned two months ago and I recently used the BBQ and it worked fine. At any rate, I wish you well in future VRBO endeavors.
Regards,
Steve
The house was perfect and laid back for our low key family. Everything you needed was at the house and the neighborhood was nice to walk around. Our kids enjoyed the deck and the extra family room. The house has lots of charm and lives bigger than the actual size. We would stay there again.
My husband and I were looking for a place we could stay with our dog but still be close to family, who were staying in a nearby cabin. The cabin has a quaint, older vibe and was immaculate! Super well-stocked for those looking for a longer stay, and I could see how a larger family would really make good use out of the space, especially those with kids! Communication with Steve was easy, and I really appreciated him giving us a heads up about the status of things re: fire season before we went up for our stay. Great for families, and a nice clean spot for those looking for a pet-friendly spot!
Enjoyed the ease of checking in, cabin was just like the pictures. Allowing pets was great as our dogs got to enjoy their time away. Big plus, was the deck being wired in, so the dogs could not run off and they could lay in the sun.
We’ve stayed at many cabins over the years, this is our favorite one so far! The layout was perfect for our family of 4 and I liked that one of the bathrooms was at the front so we didn’t disturb nap times. The beds were very comfortable and kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking and the bbq was in great condition and worked well. We also loved the large enclosed deck that we could safely let our kids play in the snow. We went for lots of walks in the neighborhood and all the cabins in the area are well maintained and felt safe. Will definitely be back.
House is very well maintained, very clean and with plenty of games and activities for kids. Location is great and owner was always there to answer questions.

Good and comfy cabin. Easy access and good communication with the owners. The only little problem was the dust found in the house, probably due to the recent fires around Arnold.
We loved this cabin! It is a well-loved, well-stocked comfy place to stay with plenty of room. It had everything we needed to cook, BBQ and entertain our boys ( Foosball, slack line and Netflix!) We would stay again in a heartbeat.
I stayed here with my mom and two sisters. I was a great place for a quilting/stitching weekend on your amazing deck. The weather was perfect, and we set up two machines, a cutting station and ironing station, and still had room for two recliners for the stitchers. We had plenty of room and even requested (and were granted) a late check out so we could stretch the weekend as long a possible. We love this cabin and plan to come back next year.
We enjoyed our weekend stay at the house. It was nice to have the patio fenced in so the dogs could be outside with us during meals. Also nice to have access to our Disney+on the TV. Clean, comfortable, easy to find, quiet. Would stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Steve Sopinski
Hello, my name is Steve Sopinski. My father, Ted Sopinski, built our cabin in the '70s when my sister, Amy, and I were young. We have been spending time in Arnold since we were born and have made it a very important part of our lives. My wife, Nikki, and I live in Rocklin with our three sons & dog. My sister Amy and her husband, Jeff, live in Santa Rosa with their daughter, and various pets. We visit our cabin whenever possible and hope you find it to be a magical place for your family too!
Why they chose this property
In the late 60s, and well before I was born, a salesman asked my father to come to Arnold to look at properties in the new Blue Lake Springs development. He and his best friend from Lockheed drove up to Arnold with their wives and the salesman. After spending the weekend in Arnold, they knew this was a place they wanted to spend time. My father and his friend purchased a lot together & each bought their own lots. They built a large cabin together for our two families where we spent every minute in Arnold we possibly could. After many years, our friends bought a business and moved up. We sold our joint cabin and my father then built the one we have today in the late '70s. We still love Arnold & the surrounding area as much as the day we found it.
What makes this property unique
The most wonderful aspect to Arnold is its peacefulness. It truly feels like a vacation. When at our cabin, we feel as though we are worlds away from the busy, every day life of home. We love the diversity of the area and all it has to offer. The activities are perfect for our family...some of our favorites are hanging out at the pool, lake and Stanislaus River in the summer time, visiting Columbia State Historic Park, shopping, dining and wine tasting in historic Murphys and skiing/snowboarding and sledding at Bear Valley in the winter. Our most favorite activity, however, is relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine working on a puzzle, playing cards, listening to music or exercising our brains doing cross word with the most perfect weather & serenity.
