Fantastic

Just grand, perfect, hot tub on deck looking at expanse of green dotted with cows and sheep, private road to private lake for swimming with dock and little beach, on the ring of Kerry, stock up on groceries at Aldi's and relax at this house and do day trips to Dingle Peninsula, boat ride on lakes, hiking, historic castles, history, lively town with pubs and music. Highly recommend. Good for groups / families, Lots of beds and space to relax.

Absolutely stunning house and location

This house was incredible and the owners were so helpful. 7 friends stayed, would advise hiring car to get from airport, do a shopping run and enable day trips. The hot tub on the decking is brilliant with an amazing view. House is done to an amazing standard with everything you need, including a gas pizza oven outside. Beds very comfy, washer and drier great for costumes and towels. The lake is around a ten minute walk from the house, and freezing but beautiful 😂 Would stay again in a heartbeat. Just be aware it’s not in Killarney as the map makes it look like to begin with, absolutely not an issue, just pointing it out. Thank you so much Karen :)

Exceptional home amid idyllic surroundings

This home is stunning - an upscale remodeled cottage with modern decor and conveniences. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of cups, dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils. Beds were comfy and entire home was spotless. A full sized dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer contributed to our comfortable stay. If you are planning for a country get away, this is your home. There is a private path to Lough Guitane for nice stroll, there is a picture book view of fields with cows grazing - we saw 4 rainbows during our stay! Our host Karen was very communicative. A stuck window shade was fixed promptly the next morning. The home is about 15-20 mins from Killarney and we liked getting away from the hustle and bustle of town. Nothing better after a day of sightseeing than to sit in the hot tub and looking at the strikingly beautiful scenery or sitting in a chair in the dining area with a cup of coffee and enjoying the view through large floor to ceiling windows. My daughter enjoyed the attached yoga studio which she used practice dance while my mother did yoga and tai chi. Only thing that we had to navigate was having one shower for 6 people. We figured out a schedule pretty quickly and it wasn’t a big deal - the view and rest of home really overcame that shortfall by a lot. There is an extra toilet which was handy. We highly recommend this home! It’s is gem!

I live 5 mins from our newly renovated cottage I work as a nurse and now am mom to 3 Boys under 4!! I decided to starting short term rental as I enjoy meeting people and also to create a space of everything I would like to have in a property where I myself would like to holiday in

Why they chose this property

Muckross is s fabulous part of Killarney bursting with scenic views of Mangerton Mountain and the Lakes of Killarney . Along with our scenic views we have Muckross Park and Killarney National park at our doorstep where you will find our most famous animal here in Killarney the Red & Sika deer My husband and I are members of Muckross rowing club and absolutely love training at the weekends in our beautiful lakes I Also am an Irish Dancer and perform in shows here in Killarney and in the world famous Kate Kearney’s Cottage though out the summer and would love to invite our guests to come and see the show

What makes this property unique

Our cottage was built back in 1860 by Lord Kenmare as a cow house and was then converted to a dwelling house 2 years later where now 8 generations of the Buckley family have passed through these doors We have an outdoor hot tub where you can sit and take in the breathtaking views of mangerton mountain. The cottage itself is bursting with so much character with the majority of furnishings handmade and crafted by my husbands cousin Sean . We also have reopened the old road to the lake where now guests can either drive down or walk ideal for a swim and picnic
