From the owners of "The Yellow Cottage" (www.vrbo.com/849995), we are pleased to be able to offer our newest Vacation home, "Lake Affect". Read our guest reviews and book with confidence. We know you will love the quality & cleanliness of the "Lake Affect" cottage.

This 3 bedroom / 2 bath home sits on a large lot w/50' of Archer Lake frontage, complete with your private 30ft boat dock. Archer Lake is part of the 17 Mile Coldwater Lake Chain and is a short boat ride away from Marble Lake.

In addition to the 3 bedrooms with queen beds, we've also included two futon couches in the lower level and a pull-out sleeper sofa in the main level family room. This home is in stunning condition.

But it doesn't stop there! The huge yard and outdoor gazebo are sure to be enjoyed by the whole family. You'll love having your morning coffee while sitting on the outdoor deck complete with electric awning. Your kids will love jumping into the lake off the private dock or the stairs leading into the water for hours of swimming fun. All family members will love kayaking around the lake in the two 10ft Kayaks that are provided.

No need to pack up your house, we've provided everything for you. This house is fully furnished with everything you need, including a Weber Charcoal grill for the grill master in the family. All you need to bring are your personal items & family lake toys.

We also have a 22ft Pontoon you can rent that will be at your dock when you arrive. The pontoon rents for $850 a week and can seat 12-people. Ask about the availability of the pontoon when you book your reservation.

We were in Quincy for my friends son's wedding. Even though we were busy (in and out) ... We were able to enjoy our coffee soaking in the lake view and the sounds of nature. This was very healing to us. AHHH. Great place to stay. I'm sure if you are family that likes kayaking, fishing and the like - this is a perfect place to stay. Also convenient to stores etc. Every thing was well kept...clean and inviting. Thank you to all involved!

Peaceful family getaway

My husband and I rented the Lake Affect cottage and pontoon for a Christmas gift for children and grandchildren. We had a great time swimming, fishing and boating. We had a blast with the kayaks and corn hole and enjoyed fires at the end of the busy days!

We were in the area for the Memorial Service for my father. Wonderful Lake vacation

We had a wonderful vacation week. The house was clean, kitchen fully stocked, yard games available, plenty of linen and great fishing( we rented the pontoon boat). Douglas was very responsive and easy to work with when minor issues popped up. The down fall of the place was the basement had a musty smell but other than that it was great!

It was a perfect getaway to have my kids and grandkids together. Excellent spacing Teenagers could have space from the younger ones and still have adult conversation as well. Relaxing environment

This is the place to stay if you need to decompress and relax. The house is clean, the property is groomed, the neighbors are quiet, and friendly. The house is fully stocked with things to do. I highly recommend renting the pontoon, however, there is great fishing right from the dock. Save yourself a trip and grab your bait on the way in. We'll return for sure!

We had a great stay at this property. Everything was clean and we were able to find everything we needed to be comfortable. Plenty of linens, blankets, towels, and kitchen supplies. Our kids enjoyed the property and had fun staying in the basement area. The separate bedroom in the basement was nice for us to stay with our newborn. We also noticed the water quality at this property seemed better than other properties we’ve stayed at in the area. Doug was easily reachable by text message and very helpful with any questions. If we had to pick something to complain about, it would be that there wasn’t much beach area for our toddler to play. Otherwise, everything was great! Would definitely book again.

Beautiful Property, Thoughtful Hosts

We were in Michigan for our son’s graduation from Hillsdale College and decided to make it a small vacation. This property was a perfect place for us to have our home base. The owners have spent a great deal of time thinking of all of the little details to make it a convenient and fun place to stay. Fast internet, fully stocked kitchen supplies, having kayaks and yard games available, comfortable deck furniture, enjoyable decorations, and a nice fire pit with plenty of chairs available. The view is beautiful from inside the house and out! If we ever head that way again, I would absolutely rent this place again!

My wife and I rent a cottage on a Michigan lake every year. This cottage is by far the best rental we have ever booked. You do not feel like you are in a rental. It feels like home. The amenities are top-notch (no second-hand garage sale appliances and utensils). The owner was very responsive and had great communication with a small problem we had. Nice and clean. Dead tree limbs hanging over fire pit area were sketchy. Basement was freezing compared to bedrooms upstairs which were hot if doors were shut. The Grill needs replaced if it’s going to be able to be used. Spent an hour cleaning it.

Nice cottage on Archer Lake

This cottage was clean and nice. Plenty of room for my husband and I and friends. The beds were very comfortable. A list was emailed with what items the cottage provided and what items you might need to bring which was very helpful. We brought our own boat and there was plenty of room on each side of the dock. There was also a nice sized back yard for any type of yard games. We also enjoyed bonfires in the fire pit. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. There was not room in the driveway to park our boat trailer so Doug gave us the name and number of someone nearby who let us park our trailer on his lot for a small fee. We had a great week boating on all the lakes and will definitely return.

Well-stocked, comfortable home with limited shorefront

We enjoyed our stay at the Lake Affect cottage, with comfy beds, great linens and a functional kitchen. Communication with the owners was exceptional, including comprehensive lists of what they provide and what we needed to bring (take this list seriously, there is not even salt and pepper in the kitchen so bring your own and you're good). Meijer and Walmart are about 15 minutes away if you need anything. (If you go into town, check out Jeannie's Diner for wonderful old-fashioned service with a smile!) Do be aware that the steps down to the 70's bar and third bedroom are quite steep. We really appreciated the laundry facilities in the basement as well. Be careful on the multi-level back deck, as it is easy to miss a step. Neighbors are close on both sides of the narrow yard, and both had large dogs that were loose outside. The yard leads to the dock, and we highly recommend renting the pontoon boat during your stay so that you can get out on the chain of lakes. Fishing was just ok (end of July) but the boat is easy to operate and has a shade awning. A house on a lake that has good wi-fi, air-conditioning, and non-smelly water -- it's the best of all worlds!
