Wonderful stay over Thanksgiving

We were in town to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with our family that lives in Aiken. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this amazing downtown location. Beautifully decorated, fully stocked kitchen, and so comfortable. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Great location and beautiful home. Love the balcony overlooking Laurens St. Directly across from the Alley and walking distance to everything downtown We visit Aiken regularly and would definitely consider staying here again

Perfect location

Perfect location in downtown Aiken. Loved the balcony overlooking the street and it was within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Janice & Russell were perfect hosts. Definitely recommend and would love to stay again next we are in Aiken.

Great Weekend Stay

This is a fantastic apartment with antebellum southern flair. It made the perfect home base for a weekend back to visit old friends and family. Very clean, comfortable and secure. Would highly recommend!

Lovely apt. in a great location

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to explore downtown Aiken, as it's right one of the main streets. The place feels spacious and has a large library, which is fun to peruse if you are a book lover like me. The kitchen is well equipped and there's a table large enough to have 2-3 guests for dinner. Also, comfortable king sized bed. We would definitely stay here again. :-)

The Loft - Downtown Aiken

This is a great place. Very cool and its location is perfect. Right downtown so everything is just out the front door. Couldn’t have been better. Will stay here again for sure.

Great location, super cute apartment!

My friends and I loved this apartment! It was well appointed, a good size and set overlooking the heart of Laurens (Aiken’s main) street. So easy to walk to all the quaint shops and restaurants. Melissa and Jim were lovely to deal with. We’d definitely stay there again!

This was our second time at this property and it is our favorite.

It is extremely clean and has everything to meet our needs., down to ziplock bags. The bed is very comfortable. We loved the atmosphere of the loft including the many books. Checkin process was fantastic. We had no issues during our stay. We hope to come back every year for a nice getaway. Thank you for sharing the apartment.

Horsing around in Aiken

Beautiful property, this is my second stay here. I come down to ride my horse who is down in Aiken for training in the winter months. Everything is always neat and tidy, the apartment has a lovely homey feel, it’s light and bright and well kept. The stairs going up to it could be tough if someone has knee or leg issues, but it’s a lovely place and right in the heart of downtown so an easy walk to dinners and shops.

One of the best VRBO apartments we've had

I grew up in Aiken and was looking for an apartment when visiting family - this was perfect. Beautifully decorated, historic, comfortable, and right downtown, so we could walk to restaurants and shops. Janice and Russell were great to work with and provided so many extras - we really didn't need to buy any supplies. We have stayed in VRBO apartments all over the world, and this is one of the nicest. I have told all my Aiken friends for when they have family visiting and need extra room and would recommend to anyone. We enjoyed jazz at the Willcox on Thursday, polo on Sunday, and sitting on the balcony at night watching the world go by. Thank you Janice & Russell!

Absolutely Perfect!

My husband and I booked this apartment for the week of our wedding since we were getting married right across the street at The Aiken Center for the Arts. It was absolutely perfect!! We could not have asked for better accommodations! Since my family lives in Aiken we visit a lot, and I can easily say that this is the best place we have ever stayed. The owners have thought of everything and have gone out of their way to make this the ideal apartment. The entire place is beautifully decorated, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots/pans/dishes/etc., the bathroom is huge and comes with more towels than you could ever need. Staying here was easy and enjoyable! I know my husband and I will be back!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

Perfect and Charming!

My daughter and I stayed in this gorgeous, spacious apartment for two weeks while my younger daughter competed in Eventing in and around Aiken. We were centrally and conveniently located to enjoy the vibrant and historic downtown area's shops and restaurants, and it's just a very short and easy drive through town to groceries and pharmacy etc. as well as all the local Events and farms in the area. The apartment is so pretty. It's beautifully and comfortably decorated, spotless, and has a ton of historic charm. The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail which made our stay here so much more relaxing and fun than we could have imagined. Never having been to Aiken before, I'm really happy I chose this VRBO experience and this particular property. It definitely enhanced and added to great memories of the trip. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. We will hope to visit again.

Location is PERFECT!

My adult daughter competed at Bruce’s Field this weekend and the location was within 10 minutes (drive). So many shops and restaurants to walk to, which was so nice! Very close to a park with trails if you are a runner or simply want to walk in nature. Kitchen has the most variety of pots, pans and gadgets I’ve ever had in a rental, even though we didn’t cook. The address is different than what was sent to is, and we were not given information about checking in except for the door code, thus the 3 star for checkin….we were given very limited instructions for checking in, including not knowing where to park and where the actual location was:…thank goodness I recognized from the pictures there were steps up to the location. We never heard from the hosts, which some may prefer, but we thought this was strange and unfriendly, especially since there was the confusion about parking (on the street? Do we have to pay?) when we arrived at 11 pm. The doorknob on one of the bedrooms kept falling off, but otherwise, everything worked and we thoroughly enjoyed reading in the living room with the French doors open. Listing says the place sleeps 6, but two would be on the sofa bed and those two would hear the street noise traffic and music coming from the Alley across the street. We could not hear that noise in the bedrooms and the beds were comfy. Bed coverings were very comfortable as well.

Beautiful apartment with excellent location downtown.

There are so many wonderful things to say about this apartment I don’t know where to start. It is beautifully decorated and has the greatest vibe! The beds are comfortable, and the linens are nice. We did not use the kitchen, but it looked like it was well stocked. We loved to sit on the balcony out front to watch the world go by. Location, location, location!! It is downtown with lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The alley that has tons of restaurants is directly across the street. (Try vampire penguin. You won’t regret it. 😁) I was concerned about parking but we never had a problem finding a spot out front. We were there for a horse show at Highfields and it was about an 8 minute drive. Last but not least, I have to mention the owners. They are truly wonderful people to rent from. I had something come up and was unsure if we were going to be able to go on our trip. They were flexible and gave me options. That type of service is rare these days. I am glad we didn’t have to cancel. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Fantastic!

I grew up in Aiken and knew this location would be perfect for my husband, myself and our two grown children. We could walk to the church and walk to the Wilcox and have freedom to walk around town. The live music down the old alley on Thursday night was a surprise and delightful treat. This apartment is full of charm and comfort. The kitchen is well furnished for cooking anything you might cook on a getaway. The bathroom supplied with towels galore and spacious enough for all our toiletry bags etc. A bonus to have a small washer/dryer if you only brought a carry on, which we did. And the walls must be solid wood. We found we had to be in the same room to hear each other. The14+ foot ceilings might have helped with that. There were so many little thoughtful touches that it felt like we were staying at a friends and they knew exactly what we might need. I hesitated on this rental because of the one bathroom but this unit was so comfortable we had no problem making that work. My son slept on the fold out couch in the living room. The sun rises and comes in all those beautiful windows you see. The room is so beautiful that I can see why they have not added any window treatment, so no points off for that. He has children and can sleep through anything. The sun did wake him up but it was so pretty he got up and took pictures and then went back to sleep. Russell and Janice were so kind and accommodating. And they have other properties I hope I get a chance to check out sometime. All thumbs up for this property! Oh and that little balcony is dreamy. Lovely condo, great location, clean and well stocked. Highly recommend this condo for a downtown Aiken location. The condo is spacious and has high ceilings. Decorated nicely tooMelissa and Jim are great hosts and very responsive.
