The Cottage was beautiful and well-appointed. We definitely felt like we were at home. It is located in a beautiful area, convenient to downtown. Every morning we were able to take a long walk through beautiful neighborhoods adjacent to downtown.
We all really enjoyed our stay. Red Top Cottage was nicely appointed, roomy, and the setting was wonderful. Best overnight business trip stay I have had in Aiken. We particularly loved the marvelous mid century modern oven!
Very comfortable cottage in a great location. Directly across the street from Hopeland Gardens and a 5 minute drive to downtown or to the Palmetto Golf Club and polo fields. Hope to return on our next trip to Aiken.
There was a bit of a glitch with communication, but the host quickly responded. The cottage was very clean. The location was perfect for attending the Masters. Very quiet and quaint.
Cute cottage in a great location. Looks smaller than it is from the outside but plenty of room for the entire family. Hopeland Gardens was literally across the street. Enjoyed an evening walk after the steeplechase. Cottage is close to downtown. Ordering out was just a short drive. Host was great. Would stay here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the red roofed cottage. The house is very well appointed and welcoming. It is located conveniently close to downtown. We enjoyed walking in the gardens next door. It was a very relaxing get away.
as soon as we walked in the cottage we felt at home. Everything about it was perfect. Location was across the road from Hopeland Gardens and two streets away from Hickory Trails which were beautiful. The cottage was also a short walk away from the polo grounds, horse racing training tracks, and breathtaking horse farms. Catherine and Bob, the hosts, were so accommodating and friendly. They lived on property and were so helpful, easy and kind. Can’t wait to go back.
Very nice property with period details. We stayed over Christmas visiting family in Aiken. House was decorated for the holiday. Bedrooms are good size with comfortable beds. Living room was bright. House is close to town and Hitchcock Woods.
This home was close to downtown and across the street from the gardens. It had everything you could've needed in it. Even makeup wipes which was a nice touch. The owner even had it decorated for Christmas and the tv on with Christmas music when we got there. It was very cozy and comfortable. The owner was very quick to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay.
Quaint cottage very close to Bruce's Field.
Kitchen barely gets any heated air, bedrooms get plenty!
Cleanliness was not quite up to par...several dead roaches on floors, and skillet in kitchen had something sticky inside the pan.Several coffee mugs were not very clean, and the coffee pot still had grinds from last use.
Comfotable bedding and nice towels in bath area.
Overall was a good stay, Hopeland Christmas lights were a treat , we walked out the side door right into Hopeland gardens. Easy, quick ride to show grounds.

We have stayed at the cottage a couple of times now, and it is always our first choice when searching for weekend rentals in Aiken. If you like historic properties, we highly recommend this little gem.
My wife and I had another couple who are friends decided to visit Aiken for the weekend. We enjoyed very much the little guest house. It was comfortable and cozy and met our needs completely. Would stay there again.
The host was very accomodating and very responsive to all inquiries.
The home was clean with high quality linens.
Kitchen could use some updates.
Good value for two couples to stay or for small family.
