This was a 100% great experience. We loved staying here. This cottage made us feel so welcome. It was generously supplied with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable. I wish our stay had been longer and we hope to stay again in the future.
Super convenient location, spotlessly clean, cozy, comfy beds, and the most well equipped VRBO we have ever stayed in. The host thought of everything!I loved being able to stroll across the street to the beautiful park with the dog while hubby played golf.
We have stayed at the cottage a couple of times now, and it is always our first choice when searching for weekend rentals in Aiken. If you like historic properties, we highly recommend this little gem.
My husband and I loved this cottage so much that we extended our stay! The cottage was much bigger than I thought and every room in the cottage was lovely. All VRBO hosts should be this thoughtful....there was coffee, snacks, a binder of restaurant recommendations as well as a bowl full of information about SC. I loved little touches like books placed in every room. One of our favorite mornings was when we drank our coffee while sitting in white rockers on the porch just chatting and watching the rain. This Historic Cottage is a must stay and whenever time allows we will be back!!
There was a bit of a glitch with communication, but the host quickly responded. The cottage was very clean. The location was perfect for attending the Masters. Very quiet and quaint.
The cottage is adorable and very convenient to the horse show grounds. The neighborhood was great for morning and evening walks. Overall it was a great weekend. We plan to be back soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Historic Cottage at Homeland Gardens. The home is larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything that is needed for preparing meals, dining outdoors, and enjoying time with friends and family was found at this property. We would definitely recommend and we look forward to booking this stay again when we return to Aiken!
The house was clean and well appointed. It was dated but in a charming way. The owner made things very easy regarding check in and check out. They even placed drinks and snacks in house for us!
as soon as we walked in the cottage we felt at home. Everything about it was perfect. Location was across the road from Hopeland Gardens and two streets away from Hickory Trails which were beautiful. The cottage was also a short walk away from the polo grounds, horse racing training tracks, and breathtaking horse farms. Catherine and Bob, the hosts, were so accommodating and friendly. They lived on property and were so helpful, easy and kind. Can’t wait to go back.
Aiken popped up as a middle location between friends in Florida and Virginia so we decided to meet there for a 4 night stay. The Cottage was PERFECT as we each wanted our own bedrooms! The layout was spacious with a lovely outdoor sitting area. The kitchen was great and we appreciated the waters, snacks, coffee available. We were a very short drive to the historic downtown area and walked, and dined, and danced to the music in The Alley Thursday night. The Trolley ride on Saturday (book in advance!) was so fun and we learned so much about the history of Aiken. The point of departure at the Train Museum was perfect. All communication with the hostess was prompt! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The property was BETTER than described! It was perfectly appointed and comfortable for our group. The Property Manager was amazing! The quintessential Southern Hostess! We will be back!
We have actually stayed in this cottage multiple times because it is so wonderful!
Clean. Convenient. Well stocked. Across the street from the beautiful Hopeland gardens. Lovely hosts who communicate directly.
We plan to return in the fall for steeplechase.
We stayed July 5-7 to see if we would like to retire to Aiken. The cottage is perfectly located across from Hopeland Gardens. We walked our German Shepherd there several times. It is lovely. It's also only a mile drive to get to a Hitchcock Woods entrance to walk there, and it's only a few minutes from the adorable downtown.
The cottage was immaculate, and the kitchen was well equipped. We were also able to do laundry, and that was helpful after driving cross country.
We would happily stay here again.
