About this property
Ouachita Mountains Farmhouse on 300+ acres
3 Bedroom 2 bath with mountain views
This beautiful home is nestled in the heart of the Ouachita National Forest. 20 minutes from Lake Ouachita, 5 minutes from biking, floating, hiking, jcrystal digging, hunting and fishing in the back yard.
The property is an outdoors person's dream. The home is in a working cattle farm (designated as an Arkansas Century Farm in 2018) which lies in a valley surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest and Muddy Creek Wildlife Management Area. Deer and small game are prevalent on the farm, with the occasional black bear on the property. Hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and boating are all within five minutes, and Lake Ouachita is only twenty minutes away. Fishing is only seconds away, as the pond just outside the yard is stocked with bass and bluegills .
Kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, bakeware and utensils, as well as sporting a gas range with griddle. This up-to-date kitchen lets you prepare meals as if you were in your own home. All bathrooms are stocked with towels, and linens are provided. One bedroom has a king bed, one a queen and the third a trundle bed with two twins.
The farmhouse was built in the 50's from pine timber on the farm. The living area offers two sofas, a flat screen 50" tv and plenty of room for relaxing or entertaining. No Wifi or cable.
This property is located in Montgomery County, Arkansas, which is one of the least populated counties in the state and is 82% National Forest. The scenic Ouachita River is less than five minutes away, offering fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking; call Ric Sharp at M&M Canoe and Kayaks for rental and shuttle service. Approximately 20 minutes away is Lake Ouachita, which is virtually surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest and has some 970 miles of Arkansas's most pristine shorelines. Boats, party barges and houseboats may be rented at a number of Marinas around the lake.
For hikers and bikers, the Ouachita Trail and Womble Trail (both of which are designated as International Mountain Biking Association Epic Trails) are within five minutes of the property, and Lake Ouachita Vista Trail is approximately twenty minutes away.
Montgomery County is also a hunter's paradise, with 82% of the county's 800 square miles comprised of the Ouachita National Forest and Muddy Creek Wildlife Management Area. Hunting opportunities include small game, deer, turkey and black bear.
