Thank you for your review… glad you enjoyed the place and the surroundings.
Kids had so much fun in the pool, the cottage is really comfortable and has everything a family would need . Sue has thought of every detail and gave us great suggestions for local restaurants and activities . Cottage Location was fabulous just between kingsville and leamington downtown with lots of beaches and splash pads driving distance. Pt pelee park is also close and we went a few times , kids loved it. The fresh produce at the local markets was also a treat !!
We had a great time exploring this area, and Sue’s poolside cottage was the perfect place for a home base. It is well cared for clean, comfortable, well stocked - we found it had everything we needed. Fun large pool - great for swimming, lounging, pool side reading. We visited Point Pelee, the island, enjoyed hiking, biking, birding, the winery’s - and the best thing relaxing. Great communication with Sue. Don’t hesitate to book this!
The house is clean, very accurate regarding the photos, if you have kids the pool has a shallow side that is very convenient and the host has a robot that makes cleaning the pool a breeze.
Barbecue and all related in the kitchen works and makes your stay comfy. We would return 100%
Backyard was a small oasis. We enjoyed spending time in the pool which is a great size. Short drive from supermarkets , stores, restaurants and winery. Very quiet area and people are so polite and accommodating. landlord responded to all communications very quickly. We had a memorable time and will definitely be back. Thanks Sue for making our family reunion a memorable one !

Mandy, it was such a pleasure hosting you and thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. Please do visit us again :).
Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Sue:)
I feel the price was way too high. Given the fact the pool was closed
There should be winter rates and summer rates due to pool advertisements.

Hello Richard, thank you for the feedback. As advertised, our pool is closed for winter and at the time of your reservation. Our off season rates reflected that. Thank you again for the 5 star rating. Hope you enjoyed our house and the area, and were able to take advantage of the free pass to Point Pelee. We'd love to host you again. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays. Sue:)
We were a family of six staying at this house and the house easily accommodated all of us. The check-in process was easy. When we arrived we were amazed by the cleanliness of the house. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to find everything we needed. We loved having access to the pool in the backyard. We spent many hours playing in the pool or lounging by it. We really appreciated the use of the family pass to Pelee Island National Park - this was an added bonus. Sue was a great host. She connected with us often and was very responsive during our stay. We are looking to book this property again.
Overall this property is a home run. The Peaceful backyard with a large heated pool, covered screened porch in back and lots of outdoor seating options were definitely the hit of this mini vacay, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and we miss the pool already.
Inside is surprisingly roomy and nicely appointed. The tv and a/c worked no issues at all.
There is a pass to Pelee Island Park for your use which we took advantage of.
The property location is literally minutes away from a grocery store, drug store, restaurants, tims etc.
Excellent communication with property owner from start to finish. Hopefully I can return at some later date. Glad we chose this place!

Sue's poolside is being very well received by all guests and we are hoping to see lots more people take advantage of our beautiful little property with all its mentioned perks!
Thanking everyone who takes the time to pause and give their review after a satisfying stay....
We are a family of four adults that stayed five nights in Sue’s cottage. We genuinely wish we could have stayed longer though, as everything was amazing. The house was clean and welcoming when we arrived, and equipped with everything we needed. You can tell this is somebody’s home by the quality of appliances, and there were a number of nice touches that added to the pesonal feel; A bottle of water and wine with the welcome note, and the ability to use the owners pass to visit Point Pelee National Park.
Thank you Sue and Rakesh for being great hosts, we’d love to come back again!

Our stay at Sue's poolside retreat
We enjoyed the cottage and particularly the pool. However we think the description has to be amended. We were expecting 2 full bathrooms but in fact there is only one (fairly small) "full" bathroom with bath + shower, toilet and basin. The other one was essentially a closet in one of the bedrooms with only a toilet and wash basin. It is also listed as having a gourmet kitchen but while the appliances where quite good there was a lack of cooking equipment (pots, pans etc.) The other thing that was disappointing was the fact that although we had specified that there would be 6 of us, the pull out queen bed we needed had not been made up and no linens were available to make up the bed. The owner was called and texted when we found the problem but there was no response until the next day. It is unacceptable not to have someone locally who can respond in a timely way to issues found in rental property. (In our experience of renting places, problems of some kind have arisen on a number of occasions.) We were however impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage and the space worked well for us. It is certainly a lovely area .

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed the cottage. I have updated the property description to provide more clarity on the 2 piece washroom (powder room) in one of the bedrooms. We’ve also ensured linens and kitchen items are placed in designated areas for easy access. We do respond to inquiries in a timely manner, so apologies that this didn’t happen with you due to our limited access to the network. Looking forward to another opportunity to wowing you again next time.
We had a wonderful time at this property. Really enjoyed the pool. Highly recommend visiting Pelee National Park. We came at what seemed to be the end of Mayfly season. One of the local residents said it lasts for about two weeks. You may want to keep that in mind when booking your stay. This is a lovely property. Sue was always great about responding to any questions we had.
This is a spotlessly clean upscale property that is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and has many upgraded amenities. It is located in a lovely area of Kingsville and is just 12 minutes from the gate at Peele National Park and is right on the doorstep of the wine route and great restaurants. The backyard is very private, well maintained with a heated pool
and lots of areas to sit and relax. We will definitely be back.

Thanks Charlotte for taking the time out to provide your review. I'm so glad you enjoyed my place and the nearby attractions. You left the house as good as you found it. I'd love to host you again anytime.
Place is well kept and clean, lots of room for everyone. Kitchen well equipped. all appliances are high quality and suburb working order. Dishes / glassware / utensils / cookware all available and high quality.. do not have to bring a thing from home because it is there. Owners respond quickly to messages so you feel tended to and you get the answers you need on the spot. due to time of the season - did not use the pool so can not speak to that, however did spend time in backyard and was well kept and inviting. Definitely would recommend this property, everyone in my group would also. we had a great time, it is conveniently located near shopping plaza so getting the last minute grocery item is not a problem. so your stay is worry free...

About the host
Hosted by Sue (Sucharita) and Rakesh Kirtikar
We’re urban city dwellers who fell in love with the slower, quieter rhythm of lakeside living of Kingsville — so much so that we decided to create a little retreat here and share it with others who crave the same escape.
I spent over 20 years as an early childhood educator before retiring in 2026, and this home has become my happy place. When it’s not booked, you’ll usually find me by the pool with a good novel, a glass of wine, and the soundtrack of robins and red cardinals in the background. It’s peaceful, restorative, and exactly why we love welcoming guests to experience it for themselves.
Why they chose this property
Kingsville offers a practical mix of quiet residential living, strong local amenities, and easy access to the region’s most popular attractions. For guests, it provides a comfortable home base close to wineries, restaurants, parks, and the lake, while still being within driving distance of larger urban centres like Windsor, London, and Detroit.
The neighbourhood itself is peaceful and well‑maintained, with mature trees, and very little traffic. It’s designed for people who want a quieter environment without being far from conveniences. The area is primarily residential, which means guests can expect a calm atmosphere throughout the day and evening.
Kingsville sits along the north shore of Lake Erie, and the lake is one of the town’s defining features. The waterfront is only a short drive from the house, giving guests easy access to lakeside parks, walking paths, and public viewpoints. The lake also contributes to the region’s mild climate, which supports local agriculture and outdoor activities for much of the year.
One of the strongest reasons we chose this location is its access to the EPIC Wine Country (Erie–Pelee Island Coast). Within a short drive, we can reach several well‑known wineries and craft breweries.
Kingsville has a strong local dining culture for a town of its size. The property is only minutes from downtown, where guests will find a range of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and bakeries.
The neighbourhood is well‑positioned for guests who want to explore the region. Notable attractions include Point Pelee National Park (approx. 25 minutes), Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens (indoor gardens, activities, dining), Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary and Local conservation areas and trails.
In short, it’s a location that balances relaxation with accessibility, so guests can spend the day exploring the region and return to a calm, comfortable home environment.
What makes this property unique
A standout feature that truly differentiates this property is the seasonal 16x32 ft heated saltwater pool. Available from May through October, this pool offers a luxurious and refreshing retreat for guests, combining the benefits of saltwater with the comfort of heating. It provides a perfect setting for relaxation, exercise, or social gatherings, extending the enjoyment of outdoor living well beyond the typical swimming season. This amenity adds a unique touch of resort-style comfort that enhances the overall guest experience and sets this home apart from other properties in the area.
Beyond its location and the seasonal pool, the property itself is thoughtfully designed to enhance guest comfort. Spacious living areas, cozy bedrooms, and modern amenities create a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a true home away from home. Whether guests are enjoying a quiet evening by the pool or gathering for a meal in the well-equipped kitchen, the space supports both relaxation and connection.
