About this property

The Cabin Skowhegan

This is a lovely, cozy and comfortable log cabin includes high speed fiber optic WiFi and the main floor has living area, kitchen and dining area, as well as 1 queen bed, a daybed and trundler bed. Loft contains 2 twin beds. There is also a couch that could be used as a bed, full bathroom. Has no kitchen sink but has a kitchen area with microwave, air fryer/convection oven, fridge/freezer, toaster and coffee maker, iron and ironing board. Also has TV, Blu-ray player, a large selection of DVD's, gas BBQ, as well as a picnic table, with benches and an out door fire pit and firewood is supplied.
The space
Lovely log cabin in a rural setting, on same property as main house, though completely separated. One large room with split loft, modern 3 piece bathroom, with large walk-in shower, gooseneck faucet (perfect for refilling water bottles and a high toilet. Both the water heater and furnace are new.
Guest access to the entire log cabin, as well as the yard surrounding it and a parking area. Bedding is supplied, but please bring your own towels, unless requested by guest. Dish soap, dish towels and sponge as well as hand soap are supplied, as is toilet paper, but don't forget the toiletries, food & beverages including coffee, tea etc.

The location was great! Close enough to town to be convenient and far enough out to have a remote country feeling. We most likely will return. The cabin was rustic, which had it's charm.

Excellent quiet mountain cabin getaway

Quiet and simple cabin in the Maine woods. Host is very personable and polite, accommodating and nice. You wont be diasapointed to stay at The Cabin.

Quaint Cabin

Larry hosted us for a week with our dogs while we were on a house-hunting expedition. Larry was a perfect host; very attentive but allowed us our space. The Cabin is very cozy and while there is no kitchen sink, the property details disclose this so we were prepared. It was a wonderful stay!

Cabin was beautiful and simple. Sitting in the rocking chair and looking at the stars at night were the best parts. It was needed to destress and get away from the busy city life. Nice and quiet area.

Lovingly Appointed Cabin

In an age of "Live Laugh Love" vacation rentals -- every property a generic flip, done up in neutral tones and mass-manufactured message art -- it was so refreshing to enter the Cabin Skowhegan, where everything seemed like a real live person had put it there. The photos of local sites, sometimes captioned. The worn-in but sturdy and inviting furniture, arranged for comfort. The quirky mug collection, clearly someone's pride and joy, hanging around the dining area. Supplies and provisions exactly where you need them. This cabin is no frills but so lovingly appointed. I would definitely come back.

Wonderful Log Cabin

The Cabin consists of one large room that includes a queen size bed, a trundle bed, a TV/lounge chair and couch, and a kitchen area with microwave, air fryer, coffee maker and fridge. The air con works great and the cabin was fun. The on demand hot water heater works great for the shower.

I am originally from northern New Jersey, though I did live in New Zealand for over five years, but have resided in Skowhegan Maine for now thirty three years now. In the twelve plus years I have opened my cabin to the public, there have been over a thousand visitors and hundreds of wonderfully positive reviews, from guest from all around the world.

I have always felt lucky to live where I do, not only because of the wildlife which abounds, or the countryside view from the backyard, but to have all this, but at the same time be only a few short minutes from town is truly having the best of both possible worlds.

What makes this property unique

This is a sprawling property, in a very quiet neighborhood, where children and dogs can play, parents and relax and have their own space, whether its sitting on one of the rocking chairs on the porch, enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee on the couch, while using the high speed fiber optic network, or sitting by a campfire, beneath a star filled sky at night.
