This place was great!!! We had a good time at the lake and had everything we needed in the cabin. The sunsets were amazing and the calls of the loons never got old. We will definitely be back!!!
My husband, my daughter, family doggie, and I had a great time. The lake is beautiful with clean warm water. Gorgeous view from the leaving room and deck. Enjoyed front seats for the fireworks on the 4th! Would be nice to have a more stable table on the deck (the folding one is very flimsy). My family loved kayaking but only one kayak was in a good shape. Suggest switching places for toilet and washing machine. This will eliminate complains about toilet. Overall we enjoyed our stay and lobster rolls aplenty!
An excellent location and very enjoyable setting on the pond. Great place to sit outside and enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening.
Issues with the cleaning service need to be addressed. The path to the cabin was difficult to maneuver, rocky, down hill and tree roots etc. If the changes I spoke of to the owner are addressed, it would be a great place to stay.
The camp was rustic and had everything you needed for a great stay. Plenty of room for the family and was clean and comfy for everyone. The lake was great for swimming and fishing and was generally very quiet. We had a great week of weather so that was helpful. Really close to stores if you need food, ice cream, groceries etc..The only thing that was a slight issue was the size of the bathroom because I'm 6-3". The other thing is that the grill needs to be replaced because it is rusted and hard to light, but it does work. Other than that it was a great stay.
Very rustic and dated, though we were grateful for A/C. Not the easiest sloped walk into house (or up the stairs inside to the only very small toilet space) if you have any mobility issues. The massive amount of cobwebs and bugs on the house/eves/windows was off-putting, and we couldn’t actually get the door to lock at any point of our stay. The lake and location are beautiful. Beware lots of poison ivy if you walk along the road at all.

The location, right by the water, is great, as is having three kayaks to use. It was nice also to have AC. However, the only bathroom is up a very narrow staircase, and is basically like an airplane bathroom. Plus, to open the door, you have to step back down the stairs and this could be considered dangerous, especially for the elderly. The cleaners need to do a better job around the windows, which had multiple spider webs and mites. The appliances are ancient, but do work.
Our family rented this camp on East Pond in Oakland for 5 days the week of July 4th. Check in was easy, and the property was as described. Kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and cooking utensils. Camp included air conditioners which was great as we needed them on a few warm muggy nights. It took some back and forth to figure out the WiFi password but host was responsive. We loved the location, and enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing! My only feedback for improvements are the grill needs to be replaced as it is very rusted and was difficult to light. Also, you need to bring your own beach towels (the camp provided bath towels only). Lastly, the secondary door does not lock properly- metal plate in the door casing needs to be adjusted.
A bit hard to find at first. Don't trust Google maps. It sends you to the wrong house. The house is charming and well equipped. After contacting very responsive owner, we figured out how to get the heat on. The home has kayaks, life jackets, and a fabulous lakeside access and view. The unfinished path from parking area to entrance (esp. in rain), plus the steep and narrow stairs to 2nd story, are challenging for tall people or less sure-footed older folks. Bathroom is cozy with compact toilet and shower. I'd happily return, but not with my 85-year-old father.
We loved our short stay at this rustic camp. It was very well maintained, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the firepit and kayaks while we there and it was the perfect home base for our stay during a local baseball tourney (Little Fenway was 6 minutes away!) Highly recommend!
I have special memories of East Pond, and was able to add more on this trip. The house is on top of the pond, with amazing panoramic views from the living room. Lounging in the living room while listening to the gentle clap of the water again the shore was soothing. The call of the loons at night is magical. Caught a large bass off the dock, and watched the sun set from the middle of the lake in the kayak. I’m already thinking of my next visit to East Pond.
