Quintessential Lakefront Cottage with Amazing Views!

Long Pond is a classic Maine vacation destination! Ernest Thompson stayed on Long Pond while writing his 1979 play "On Golden Pond". Our property has one of the nicest views on the south end of this famous lake, and you can enjoy it all from inside our 12'x24' screen deck just 25 feet from the shore! This custom designed cottage offers all the privacy and amenities you are looking for in a vacation rental. Ideal for a couple, couples or small family looking for a relaxing retreat to kayak, fish or boat. We offer a tastefully appointed cottage with a bathroom, and three bedrooms with two queen beds and two built in twin beds, including the linens, dishware and cooking utensils. We also have a washer and dryer, WiFi, swim platform, your own large, floating dock to accommodate boats up to 18ft, and many miles of quiet tranquil roads to walk your pet or jog. We also allow most breeds of dogs for a modest fee, but PLEASE CONFIRM BEFORE BOOKING that your dogs age and breed are allowed. Long Pond offers nearly 3,000 acres of beautiful Maine waters with islands, pines, loons and bald eagles. More than enough for a great week of kayaking, boating or whatever your summer interests are. Long Pond is a deep, clear lake and great for swimming. Of all the Beldgrade Lakes, Long Pond is the least developed and most pristine. Drive or go by boat to the town of Belgrade Lakes for dinner or ice cream. A classic summer vacation area, Long Pond and the Belgrade Lakes area are sure to please. Approximately 3 hours from Boston.

What a wonderful house this is! The house is clean and well stocked with a gorgeous view of the pond. We heard the loons every day. Kayaking on the pond was so peaceful. We love to hike and there a dozen nice trails within 30 minutes. Our little beagle had fun too!

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our vacation getaway! It was very comfortable - nicely decorated, and the porch overlooking the lake was our favorite place to hang. The one small drawback was that the dish network was out (probably from recent storms) but that wasn't a big deal for us. We loved every minute of our stay!

Paddling vacation

The cottage and its location were perfect for us. We brought our kayaks and explored almost every corner of the large lake during our week stay. The lake is relatively calm, the water is crystal clear and great for swimming. The dock is a great place to relax and catch the morning sun. The cottage had everything we needed!

We enjoyed the serenity of the pristine lakefront property. Scott replied immediately to some minor issues, and overall everything provided in the cabin was practical and comfortable. We rented a small motor boat nearby and were able to dock it at the cabin. I even caught a good sized bass right from the dock!

Great Spot

Spent a week here with our three children and 2 dogs. The place was great, fishing was great...son caught a very large pike but I couldn't seem to upload a photo on VRBO. I was also surprised that the boat traffic wasn't too bad given the size of the lake. Would surely stay again.

Perfect Family Vacation

Have stayed at this house before, loved it then and loved it this time too! Perfect location! Had everything we needed! It was the perfect vacation! Day trips to all the "touristy" places and then returned to the peace and quiet! Our family had great success fishing and were able to moor the boat right at the dock in front of the house! Our family has stayed at Scott's neighboring property and it is equally perfect! Will definitely stay there again!

We were looking for perfect little spot on a quiet lake and this fit the bill! Adorable, well maintained and well constructed home with a cute cottage look. The best part was the location. We had a great time in Maine and this property was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly as described on Vrbo. We communicated with Scott the owner when needed and he was very responsive to our questions. The location was central to local shopping for groceries (Day’s). The property was also within 30 mins to other towns that were of interest. Nice weather allowed us to hike some of the local trails, and the views were over the top. We were able to see the northern lights right from the dock. Overall a great relaxing vacation and stay. Thanks

Tranquility and Serenity

This was one of the best places I have stayed. Two friends of mine and I usually do a girls paddle week at the lake. This year, my husband was with me for the first part of the week and friends arrived for second part. All was great! The lake, the kayaking (we had our own) and the peacefulness of Long Pond. Fairytale cottage with all modern comforts

Every corner of the lakeside cottage was adorable and charming, with every room having architectural detail and on point decor. Immaculately clean with a beautiful view and great dock with a swim raft as well. Air conditioning in every room! Super sunny charming bedrooms! Never had a kitchen well stocked with spices and foil/saran wrap, etc. before, what a treat. We and our dogs absolutely loved it! Can't recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful retreat

Loved every minute of our stay here. Crystal clear lake, beautiful view, cozy and comfortable cottage. Spent the majority of our inside time on the screened porch - great for reading, eating meals or just sitting and listening to the loons and the sound of the water lapping against the shoreline. Great lake for kayaking. We rented kayaks from Belgrade Boat Storage & Marine. They did a great job, dropped off and picked up several days later. Hoping to return next year. Lovely Family Retreat

We can’t say enough about this cottage. Tastefully updated. Private. Amazing screened in porch with panoramic views of the lake. Perfect dock + floating dock combo. Tucked away in a nice little cove with perfect temperate water and terrain for swimming. We’ve stayed at 5 different spots on Belgrade Lakes and this was our favorite. A bit of a drive to town but still worth it. If we could do over, would rent a fishing boat from Castle Island and that would negate the distance from town by giving a straight across the lake option for errands or dinner/ice cream. Would recommend to all!

This property had the best location we had seen on Long Pond, we couldn't resist the view, clear water and privacy.

What makes this property unique

The best thing about this cottage is that you are in 'real' cottage country when you are here. There are no long strips of overdevelopment on your drive to our place, and there no noisy highways, or large resort operations on this lake chain. We are at the end of a beautiful, quiet, country road, with great privacy. Best of all, the heavily forested shoreline of the lake means that when you are on the water, you see trees and loons, not cottages!
