About this property
Traditional stone house with enclosed, idyllic courtyard, near the sea
A former farmhouse in the listed upper village part of Nikiti, a shady vine arbor in the restored courtyard, an ouzo on one of the two balconies, away from the hustle and bustle and street noise: The view goes across the village to the west coast of Sithonia and over the bay to the opposite Kassandra, the western "finger" of Halkidiki.
The house is located about 1.5 km from the sea, on a hill in the old village part of Nikiti. From the two balconies you can enjoy beautiful views of the village and the surrounding, partly woody hills on the sea, on clear days to the Olympus.
If you fancy a relaxing bathing, reading and family vacation away from mass tourism, you are right in the "Spiti Moustaka" (the house of Moustakas, as the family name of the original owners was)! The house is suitable for max. 5 people. The pure living space (without yard and balconies) amounts to approximately 70 square meters, which are distributed on two floors.
Since it is an old farmhouse (built in the thirties of the last century), inside it is pretty noisy. But in the summer anyway the yard becomes the actual, spacious living room.
The neighborhood is quiet; Of course, there is the typical Greek village noise with barking dogs and in the evening during the season sometimes the generator of a nearby tavern, but no traffic noise, since the house is located on the outskirts. The neighboring house has been empty for many years.
With its large enclosed courtyard, the house is ideal for those who would like to be a little for themselves. If you want to throw yourself into the fray, you only have to go to the beach in the lower part of Nikiti - at least during the season the beach bars are well filled.
The house has two bedrooms with two beds and an additional spare bed in the fireplace room (this is only shielded by a woven carpet). The small kitchen is fully equipped with a spacious refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove with 2.5 cooking rings, mini oven, microwave, rich crockery, cutlery and cooking / baking utensils. In the morning you can have a look at the sun on the balcony to the east, while enjoying your coffee and in the evening changing to the south facing balcony to look towards the sunset. ;-)
It is most pleasant on hot days, undoubtedly in the enclosed courtyard under the shady vine arbor. The rest of the farm is partly overshadowed by a proud olive tree. And if there is worse weather, of course, there is also a large, massive dining table in the house. Maybe you would like to make yourself comfortable after dinner and use the bookcase - an extensive holiday library with tourist guides of the region and sophisticated fiction is waiting for you!
With the sanitary facilities you have the choice between two toilets and two washing places, each with shower. Garden furniture, some beach accessories and barbecue are also available.
In the village, which is located directly on the sea, there are numerous taverns that prepare delicious Greek food as well as supermarkets and shops of all kinds.
We invite you to enjoy the slowing down and the soothing magic of the solid stone houses and pretty hilly streets of the village - on a "get-away" holiday in the Spiti Moustaka in the old village of Nikiti.
TRIPS
Surrounded by wooded hills and olive groves a bit further south, numerous fine sandy coves invite you to swim.
Excursions by bus or boat, u. a. an Athos tour, can be booked in the tourist office of the village. Furthermore, you can rent cars and mopeds in Nikiti. To Salonika (Thessaloniki) leads a well-developed road, some expressway (total about 100 km), travel time 1 to 1 1/2 hour.
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. Our tip for a visit to the metropolis: park in the parking garage of Ikea and from there take the bus to the city center. From Thessaloniki also buses to Nikiti and continue in the southern part of Sithonia (bus stop in Nikiti: at the intersection diagonally opposite the tavern Aetos, the Eagle. The timetable depends).
Motorized offer many excursion possibilities in the area, z. B. on the west Kassandra or Athos in the east or on the islet Amouliani. The mountainous hinterland is ideal for walks and hikes - who likes, can also find climbing. There are always fantastic views of the sea and the other two peninsulas (Kassandra in the west, Athos in the east).
Look forward to your holiday in the holiday house "Spiti Moustaka" - pure relaxation in the village by the sea!
