Storybook craftsman cottage in the highly coveted Upper East or bungalow district, quietly situated down a meandering garden path and across a private footbridge. Walking distance to State Street promenade, theaters, restaurants and bars, and block away from local parks, including the Alice Keck Memorial Garden "turtle park" and the Santa Barbara Mission. Easy bike ride to the beach.

Sun-drenched and modern residence with mid-century modern furniture and decor, with the main floor boasting a beautifully-appointed living and dining area equipped with a 55" inch Smart TV and gas fireplace, and an open kitchen with updated appliances and expansive windows. Upstairs features a comfortable master suite in the mid-century style, with an adjoining office/lounge area featuring an executive desk (curved ultra-wide screen), and views of local landmarks and the Riviera hills. Primary bathroom recently updated with marble countertop and a walk-in shower. Lower floor includes secure parking in private attached garage, as well as spacious laundry area and guest bathroom.

Best stay ever!

From the minute I walked in I was so overjoyed! Just the most lovely home and it was so welcoming. The decor was very tasteful and I felt I had everything I needed. I was wishing I could move in permanently! It was close to State St so I could walk there daily. It was also a quick 20 min drive to visit my daughter in Isla Vista. I would book this again in a heartbeat.

Loved Every Moment

This VRBO is everything we hoped it would be and more. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished with interesting wall decor. We felt very much at home. Its location was perfect for us: a quiet neighborhood just a block from beautiful Alice K. Park Memorial Gardens and a few blocks away from the Old Mission and rose gardens. It’s also fairly close to the Santa Barbara Bowl. There’s also a small neighborhood market just steps away from the townhouse development. Kristen and James are perfect hosts: they seemingly thought of everything we could want including exercise equipment, bicycles, and beach chairs. The home is equipped with new appliances including a large washing machine and dryer. I particularly appreciated having an enclosed garage unlike many VRBOs that have only driveway or street parking. One caution: the townhouse consists of three levels with the bedroom and main bathroom on the third floor, the kitchen and sitting room and main entryway on the second level and the garage, laundry room and a half bath on the lower level. Since there is no bathroom on the main level, people who find staircases a bit challenging may want to take this into consideration. All in all, we so thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Storybook cottage that we heartily recommend it as a wonderful place to stay when you visit Santa Barbara.
