About this property

Cozy chalet on Wintergreen Mountain

On a private, wooded lot, this chalet home is perfectly located in the year-round Wintergreen Resort. We’re less than a mile to the main ski lodge, restaurants, and market. In the winter months you can enjoy a view of the mountain ranges as you relax by the wood stove in the two-story great room. During warmer seasons enjoy a hike on the nearby hiking trails, a swim in the resort pool, or a picnic on the large front deck. New AC window unit in living room in July 2022.

The space
The house features solid hickory wood floors, new kitchen appliances, a custom concrete countertop, 50" flat screen smart tv, and wireless internet.

Sheets, towels, utilities and firewood are provided free of charge. Dogs may be allowed by prior agreement only; extra fees and deposits may be required.

UPPER FLOOR: There is a private bedroom with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower in the enclosed loft area. This room features a vaulted ceiling and beautiful views.

MAIN LEVEL: There are 2 private bedrooms and 1 full bathroom (with shower/tub) on the main level. One bedroom features a queen bed. The other has two twin beds.

Guest access
Guests have seasonal access to two resort outdoor pools and tennis a short drive away from the house (one on the mountain, one in the valley). If golf is your sport, you can enjoy a round of golf, which is located about a 15 minute drive away in the Stony Creek neighborhood part of Wintergreen. Lots of nearby hiking, including a trail right from White Oak Drive; the Appalachian Trail is a very short drive, as are many hikes along the Blue Ridge Parkway, just a few minutes away. Great breweries, food, wineries, a cidery, distillery, all within a half hour.

Other things to note

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow, ice, some foggy days, and some occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The mountain roads can be icy and could be dangerous in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and/or ice during these months. This means 4-wheel drive/AWD, good tires, and/or chains. We cannot give refunds due to weather.

Cozy mountain getaway

This mountain chalet is an ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends who like to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as be close to breweries, wineries, and the slopes. The property managers provided everything to make our family comfortable and to ensure a wonderful experience. We will definitely rent this “cozy” property again in the future.

Great stay for the autumn leave changes.

This was my first VRBO experience and it was an enjoyable one. Nice property with plenty of room. I was able to hike and get great seasonal photos from the area. The place was clean and had all of the amenities that were listed. I would revisit this place again. I experienced no problems with the cell phone service and the wifi was good.

Wonderful 32nd Honeymoon Stay!

Fabulous home, so comfortable for two couples and a furbaby. Amenities are spot on everything we needed. The front deck at sunset is so inviting and enjoyable. Never even had a need to turn on the tv! Perfect location at the end of the road so no street noise. I hope the next time we come up to Wintergreen this place is available. Lovely Cabin in great location!

My husband and I stayed here with our boys (4 & 6 months) and dog - the cabin was perfect for a little early spring getaway. Clean, well stocked, located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the woods with a great view and easy walk to the market. The wood stove puts out PLENTY of heat! Host was thoughtful, helpful, and very responsive. We had a wonderful time!

Perfect for our needs

We were looking for a place to stay in the mountains for 4 adults and 2 kids. This fit our needs perfectly. It was very clean and communication was excellent. The setting was great, with good views and near a cul de sac so no traffic. It was an easy walk to the main center so that’s a definite plus, not having to get in your car. We would stay here again.

Christmas Cabin Success!!

Visited this lovely cabin home as a quick Christmas getaway with friends and it was exactly what we needed! The cabin had enough space to feel secluded, but being integrated into the Wintergreen resort was a great convenience. Despite a wicked winter storm rolling through, the cabin and wood burning stove kept us toasty and the surrounding community provided plenty of entertainment (tubing, brewery, distillery, hiking, great views). Our dogs loved being able to hang with us on our trip and we couldn’t be more pleased with the accommodations and responsiveness of the hosts. We’ll be back!!

Very nice pace for friends and family

Great place and provide you privacy unlike many other places owned by the resort directly. Very short drive to the slopes, we even managed to walk there, check your heart before that though, walking in the mountains is challenging even for the people with high endurance level. The owners made it very easy for us to check in and were very responsive throughout the stay. we had an unlimited firewood to burn if you into that kinda thing, I know that is one of my simple pleasures in life (although, you cannot have a fire pit outside in that area, understandibly so, too hasardous with leafs on the ground). I think, my friend' s dogs had the most fun. Internet capability was also great, my friend had to work the entire time we were there and had at least 3 zoom meetings, and never had a problem (although, we din't have any extreme weather conditions while we were there). Advice for people who have kids/friends/family members who require 3 meals a day - bring your own food. I cook for a living, and the kitchen is adequately equiped for everyday cooking. There is a little market next to the slopes that is very convenient, but if you do grocery shopping there for the entire stay, you will pay a harsh premium, but if you just ran out of something, that place is good (and going down the mountain to find a grocery store does not worth your time, it will take forever). If you are into "fancy" coffee (I'm am personally not, I drink my coffee black for that I had a coffee maker at the property and they also have a one cup coffee maker as well), there is a coffee shop in the lobby of the Mountain Inn right next to the slopes. Overall, property wise, was a great stay for us. I definitely want to come back in the summertime as well if life allowes, I think it will be really pretty.

Great place in a great location

We went to Wintergreen really not knowing the area just for a golf weekend and had a great time. The cabin was awesome and in a great location on the mountain. The whole area is amazing and we will definitely go back.
