A great family destination, as you are minutes away from the Matagorda Bay Nature Park where they have bird watching, beach combing, mini-golf and kayak trips. Also, we have some of the best fishing, where the Colorado River empties into the Gulf. Come down and experience some of the best beach Texas has to offer.

Beautiful space!

Our group had a blast staying here! Beautiful view from the deck, clean and comfortable bedding, and we adored the record player! Such a nice spot for a group of friends or a family getaway. Very short walk to the beach as well!

There were a few minor issues….but, all was taken care of.Our host was very tentative. The a/c worked great. Everything you needed was there.We will definitely be back!

Texas Coastal Home

This property is about as close to Matagorda Beach as you can get. This is a relatively remote location on the middle Texas coast. I'm sure there are many issues with any property this close to the coastal beach and this one is no different with strong odors of mildew in the closed up house. These mold related issues ultimately forced us to cut our visit short by one day due to respiratory medical issues in two members of our group. Our hosts were easy to work with on a refund for the one day of unused occupancy.Our personal issues aside there is a virtually empty beach in your backyard, great shelling, and amazing dark nighttime star gazing from the elevated deck.

My wife and I live in Austin with our two kids. We love the beach and decided to make the move to have a second home for our kids to grow up in. We can't always be there, so we wanted to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

The proximity to the ocean along with the smaller crowds in Matagorda make this an ideal beach visit.

What makes this property unique

This is a family-friendly property and community including a great pool. Please no renters looking for a place to party all day and night. There are full time residents in the area and so we ask you respect them and the neighborhood.
