Really an exceptional 9-day vacation with our three children--kudos to the owners of the property and Stony Brook (the property management people). The home is massive, clean, and filled with higher-end furnishings (soft beds, couches, etc.). Our main priority in choosing a cabin was the view--and this cabin did not disappoint, being very high on the mountain, looking out, without obstruction. Beyond that, we like to grill, have a fire pit for smores and hot dogs, and have a swimming pool close-by. The grill, which is located on the main deck, allowed me to grill while spending time with the family and taking advantage of the view (the burners on the grill need to be replaced, though). The Stony Brook people made multiple check-in courtesy calls and were eager to come out immediately to fix both an air conditioner issue and a problem with the grill's grease trap being full. The community swimming pool is awesome--clean and VERY close (walking distance) to the cabin--the kids loved it. The fire pit was also great!The only thing that might not make this particular cabin perfect for a family would be the spiral staircases that are necessary to leave the main level (there are four floors) and the lack of bathtubs. Our youngest child is six--so we had no problems using the stairs or taking a showers instead of a baths--but families with mobility issues or little ones should be aware.We would 100% book next summer, if available.
