The home and the 56 acres were absolutely Shangri-La. This was a perfect vacation in a beautifully furnished and well kept home on gorgeous grounds. In addition to the home and grounds every amenity was provided, including lifejackets. kayaks, paddle boat, golf cart, fishing rods, etc. the gym has a treadmill, an elliptical and a stepper. We loved the pool and ping-pong tables, and also the air hockey table. Our every need was attended to even down to boxes of tissues in every room. The hosts were beyond accommodating in every way.
Everything about this house was perfect for our family, from beginning to end. The hosts were incredibly responsive, helpful, generous and friendly. The house and property were perfect for out 3-generation family vacation. The house has an amazing kitchen - we had every meal for the 13 of us at the house over the 9 days of our stay and it was never a problem in terms of space or kitchen tools or anything else. The indoor and outdoor activities (especially the fishing) captivated our 6 grandchildren (all under age 7). There really isn't a single suggestion I could offer about how to make this a better experience.
We had a great time at Jacks Place. Was convenient to two mountains. Plenty of bedrooms beds bathrooms for a group trip. House was very clean spacious. Kids had a blast with the game room! Todd was a pleasure to work with.
This was our second stay. We get together for our annual cousins trip and have done this at several properties looking for a permanent spot. We got so lucky last year when we rented Jack's Place. There is always something to do and its perfect for us. The owners are so caring and attentive and the property is clean and comfy. We can't wait until next year
We had the most wonderful time at Jack's place. Everything was clean and gorgeous and well-maintained. The lands were fantastic for our group of kid explorers. The kitchen was especially well-stocked. We can't wait to return!
The property was a great size and had all the amenities we needed for the group. The kitchen was also very well stocked and perfect for cooking for a large group. We only wish the pool was available in the winter but we would stay again.
Highly recommend this gem of a property. It was a magical week with the entire family. Secluded but accessible to all your needs. Priceless memories were created.
Check- in was seamless. Very easy and quick. Nicole and Todd couldn't have been more receptive and accommodating! Their meticulous care of the of house and property made our stay a wonderful experience. There were twelve in our group ranging in age from 4 to 86. Everyone felt the layout of the house was perfect. Each of the four family units had its own separate 'quarters' with bathrooms off the main kitchen/dining/living area. Lots of fluffy towels were supplied (beach and bath). The kitchen was amazing. It was amply stocked with dinner, glass, cook and flat ware. There are small appliances, large stove, two ovens and refrigerators, and a nice size outdoor grill. All nice quality wares. The downstairs game room was especially fun for the younger guests. The indoor pool was nice, but all agreed, an outdoor pool or swimming access would have made the house even more enjoyable. Fishing at the pond was a huge pastime for all. There were poles for all. Almost everyone caught a fish! Kayaking and the golf cart were also a big part of the stay. One of my grandsons said a cart ride around the property felt like he was in "Jurassic Park". The outdoor sitting areas are in excellent condition. We've stayed elsewhere and these amenities were in poor condition (splintered decks, unclean chairs,etc.). And, there was enough seating for everyone. All in all, thank you for making our stay a memorable one for the entire family. It was, perhaps, our best!
We were here for a tournament and this place and experience brought us all together to feel like one big family. We came from several states across the US and it felt just like home! Thanks for everything!
This is a wonderful property for getting folks together and not having to negotiate who is staying in what room together. The indoor pool and coverage from the decks meant I really didn't have to worry if we'd have to hang out in bad weather.
A bunch to do both indoors and inside for all ages!
This is the perfect spot for our family to meet and enjoy our time together. We hiked, we walked, we fished, we kayaked, we cooked and ate way too much food, we laughed and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. This is a great getaway for all ages! Todd and Nicole are wonderful to work with. 100% recommend. We will be back.
We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday at this property and it was perfect for all age ranges. There’s enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. The house was CLEAN, and the ease and comforts of the place made it enjoyable for all. Kitchen has enough for those of us who wanted to cook. We used the pool, hot tub, kayaks, paddle boat , golf cart, and of course — the amazing game room. It’s also a good jumping off spot for visits to Hudson, Rhinebeck, Olana, and more. Would highly recommend and we are already talking about going back.
We got together for a long weekend at Jacks Place with six couples with whom we attended college about 50 years ago. I think we all had some anxiety about living in such close quarters for three days . Thankfully Jacks Place provided the perfect blend of privacy and shared living space so we could eat, talk and watch tv ( mostly sports), while reliving the good old days. We used the kitchen facilities for most of our meals and also availed ourselves of the hot tub and ping pong table. The grounds are magnificent and I would highly recommend this for any large group gathering. Todd and Nicole are very responsive hosts and we even had the added bonus of randomly meeting them in person At the Hannaford in Red Hook when stocking up for the weekend.
This home was spectacular! We had family from all over together to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. House was immaculate upon arrival.
Loads of space and amenities galore with something for everyone! From the game room, multiple fire pits, hot tub, indoor pool (saved our sanity since it was a rainy week), fishing pond, golf cart, in home gym and walking trails, no one could be bored! The beds were comfy, the towels luxurious, and kitchen extremely well stocked. With a group this big, we appreciated the 2 full sized fridges, and the wine fridge. The homeowners were very promptly responsive to questions. I highly recommend this home for your large group gatherings!
We had a large party at Jack's Place from age 7 to 77, traveling from all over the country. Nicole and Todd were helpful at every turn, providing a wealth of information about the property, the amenities, the nearby highlights, as well as nearly instantaneous followup via text/app about questions that we had.
Our stay could not have been more fun - the onsite things to do list is lengthy - hikes, golf cart rides around the property, fishing, indoor swimming, hot tubs, grilling on the giant deck, campfires next to the pond.
The area is full of wonderful restaurants and wineries and breweries and farms for picking fruit.
While we were there Todd and Nicole kept in constant contact making sure we were aware of any maintenance they'd perform and checking that we were comfortable.
My family had a week we will remember forever and we're grateful to have had such a lovely place to stay.
The house was spotlessly clean. Kitchen, which had enough cabinets and drawers for a small army,
was easy to navigate as mostly everything was labelled. The local beach in Taghkanic State Park, just a few minutes from the house, was perfect for sitting in the shade of a tree, baking on the sandy beach, or picnicking with charcoal grills. Can even rent boats there. We also visited the charming village of Rhinebeck, about a half hour from the house with restaurants galore and a vast array of boutique shops. Don't miss the Elizaville diner for breakfast. Back at the house, there was so much to entertain everyone, from scouting the property on the golf buggy, fishing, boating, indoor swimming, board games and, of course the game room. The kids (10 and 13 yrs) loved it down there. So did the adults! There was one thing we all wanted: TWO MORE DAYS. That would have been perfect to add to our five day stay. Thank you Nicole and Todd for putting such effort into making Jack's Place a wonderful place for a family vacation.
Jack's Place is absolutely wonderful. It is welcoming, clean and you want for nothing, as the owners have anticipated your needs and preemptively filled them. The rooms are spacious & well appointed, the beds are very comfortable, and linens are high end quality. Every detail has been taken care, items are clearly labeled, and instructions are clear. Activities are plentiful with an immaculate pool & clean hot tub with a view of the huge private pond. The pool is incredible, a respite from a long day & appropriate for all ages with safety measure in place. There are multiple decks, filled with lounging chairs, umbrellas and BBQ grills, homeowners have included all accompanying necessities. The home is very secluded & quiet with opportunities to hike their many private acres, or fish in their pond or take out a boat, all items are provided and readily available. Chefs will be thrilled to cook in their oversized kitchen filled with many state of the art appliances & dishware & oversized table. Homeowners are extremely accommodating, and it is very apparent that they have vision toward accommodating their guests & have stopped at nothing to make you feel welcome and valued. We are looking forward to our next stay there, it would be a privilege.
