We had a wonderful glamping experience. The host thought of everything. Our kids were so happy and enjoyed every minute! The trails with cute painted rocks, the swimming hole, the toys, the hammock, the teepee...it was so much fun! Thank you, we'll be back!
My family and friends loved our stay here! We arrived very late, in the cold, after a long trip through the mountains, and the wagons were so wonderfully warm and inviting. It was just perfect. We slept comfortably, and awoke in our wagon (soooo fun) to this beautiful property on the Applegate River, and a lovely tour of the farm, gardens and animals from the hosts Sean and Evellyne. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
This was such a fun place to spend the night! My family loved all the attention to details that has been put into setting up the wagon and surrounding grounds. The only bummer is that is was cold while we were there, so we didn’t get to play in the river - so now we have to come back in the summer to enjoy it again. Really - I can’t say enough how great of a stay we had! Thank you!
I absolutely recommend this amazing experience to anyone who wants to disconnect with the hussle & bussle and CONNECT with eachother!
Sean & his wife are incredibly gracious hosts, who have taken so much time, care, and Pride in the guest experience, that there is little left to do but relax & enjoy! You'll need to bring far less than you think...
Treat yourself and take a trip to this Homestead Oasis! You will glad you did!
I rented the wagons for friends from the bay area that came to help us pick our grapes. As soon as they arrived they started taking pictures to send to their friends as they found the setting and wagons exceptionally charming. One guest mentioned several times how much she enjoyed the setting and the llamas, the icing on the cake. The hosts have thought of everything to make this a uniques, charming and special experience. And they are fun and easy to work with.
Our family did a southern Oregon experience trip over the summer and staying on this gorgeous property was definitely a highlight. The covered wagon itself was well laid out and huge which was surprising. The bed was comfortable, a king size and with the AC/heat combo it was always the perfect temperature. The swimming hole was tons of fun although cold but that didn't deter the kids. The area is gentle enough for toddlers and interesting enough for preteens. We had brought our stand up paddle board and there is a great little that you can take through the cattails. It feels very Alice in Wonderland and unlike anything I've done before. I had also messaged with the hosts before our trip and arranged to meet the animals on the property. There are goats, sheep, emus, a pig, bunnies, birds, chickens, a turtle and I'm betting I forgot a couple but clearly there is a very happy menagerie at the Rustic Sundance Homestead. They also have an orchard on the property, it's really a slice of paradise the owners have created.
The only thing I missed was a fire pit which given the forest fire situation in southern Oregon in the summers I can see why they don't have one. They do provide a gas fire pit but I do miss watching the bright red logs at night. Be sure to bring bug spray, the path into their forest had a good amount of mosquitoes.
