This is my 2nd stay. I enjoy the tranquility of this cabin. No TV which is a delight to disconnect from the world. Bring a treat for Fin he loves to visit. I look forward to other stays.
Time stands still with this charming 103 year old home on several acres nestled in the Gold Hill area. A great place to enjoy the outdoors and disconnect
Adorable house, amazing family renting the house, beautiful property with turkeys running around. Perfect space for my husband and I with our daughter and grandson. We will hopefully be staying here again.

We needed separate bedrooms, a stop that would get us through the snowy passes at the optimal times, a midway point on a long interstate road trip, calm and quiet, safe and away from noisy freeway or sketchy neighborhood s. I must have looked at 150 other options until this spot popped up.This little cabin in the woods, as the kids called it, was everything we needed. Great location,, lots of space and personality. Curt was very responsive and had a fire going in the wood stove when we came in! We liked it so much, and it suited our particular needs so perfectly, that we booked it a week later for our return trip. I highly recommend this spot. We enjoyed it very much, loved the local pizza and market in Gold Hill, and it made our wintry drive so much safer and restful. Thank you!
We had the best time! Cabin was great with the most amazing landscape. Everything was clean and well stocked. Location was perfect and we got to go up the road to see the Mystery House. Thank you very much for the memories and we hope to return in the fall for a visit!
Old house in good shape. Was comfortable at night with portable AC and window unit. Quiet area with deer and turkeys. Close enough to enjoy Crater Lake.
We enjoyed our stay. Nice and quiet. Beautiful area. Liked seeing the deer in the yard. Everything was nice and clean. Loved the dogs meeting us when we came in. Thank you Curt.
A lovely semi-rural setting with helpful/responsive hosts. The cabin is basic but comfortable with excellent beds. Hunting-themed art and trophies on the walls. Lots of natural light during the day, but would have liked reading lamps for nighttime use. Loved the trees, grasses, and birds.
We had a great time at this charming cabin. We spent the days white water rafting and zip-lining and the evenings sitting on the wonderful porch playing cards, watching wild turkeys and petting Findley (such a sweet doggy) and then falling asleep in very comfortable beds, to the sound of crickets. Wonderful. The host is very nice and accommodating. Everything was ready for us and air conditioning was on when we arrived! We felt very welcome. Curt was also was nice enough to leave the gate open for our late night arrivals. Excellent place to spend a quiet, relaxing few day. Thank you!

Property was nice & well maintained. The person emailing with me was very accommodating to my needs and the weekend was great.
This cabin is adorable and the property is gorgeous. It's easy to access, close to town, yet completely in the country. It is clean and well appointed with everything you need. We loved all of the history that is preserved, the deer in the yard and listening to the creek. It would have been nice if there was a lamp in the dining nook, and maybe a nightlight. But overall this place is exactly as advertised and a great country living experience.
I think my favorite part was our visitor. The dog would come check on us and make sure we didn’t need anything! The owners were very kind and courteous! I would absolutely stay again!
A quiet country retreat. The hosts live on the same property, and were there to greet us along with their 2 very friendly Golden retrievers. They all went out of their way to help us feel at home.
Thank you!
This property is the perfect quiet getaway. It’s nestled in the wooded countryside. The field (part of the property) is perfect if you are an astronomy buff. There’s a fire pit and chairs to use. The porch simply invites you to sit and watch the turkeys and deer that visit. The house itself is old and full of fun antiques. There’s a large wood burning stove. We slept in the larger bedroom. The bed and pillows were super comfy. Curt was very friendly and easy to talk with. If we are ever back this way, we’d definitely book a stay here again.
My daughter and I enjoyed a mother and daughter vacation. We had an amazing time. The cabin was more than we/one could expect. We slept very peacefully and actually slept in. The cabin had all that we needed. One of the best was not having a TV! Yes, no television was not missed it gave us the opportunity to spend quality time with one another. Finley and O'malley were a bonus. We loved their company. We saw deer in the evening. Turkies throughout the late afternoon to early evening. From the moment we arrived we walked into the cabin walked the grounds, sat out on the porch, played with Finley and O'malley, had breakfast, lunch and dinner, enjoyed the nature which all felt so surreal. We do look forward to return with my our family. Thank you for opening your door to us.
My 14 year old son and I stayed for four nights. We were looking for a home base for hiking adventures to Crater Lake and other nearby locations. The cabin is more spacious than the photos indicate - with the living area being very large. The beds were very comfortable and the linens/towels were high quality. The kitchen is modest and functional; has all of the essentials including a coffee maker, regular sized fridge, microwave, full oven, and enough pots/pans/silverware/other equipment to make meals. If you want to cook a fancy five-course meal and need lots of fancy stuff to do that with - perhaps look elsewhere. The property is quiet - both during the day and the night. Turkeys and deer abound on the property. If you need to have wifi - you'll have it. The signal was strong enough to allow me to do some work and my son to do some gaming during our down time. The cabin was clean and well-set for our arrival. The adorable dogs came to visit each evening - super cute. It's an "out of the way" kinda place - I'd recommend it for people looking for some down time. If you like "fancy" - this isn't the place for you. The cabin is filled with antique oddities including an "all in one" hand drier and drying rack, glass bottles of all ages and kinds, and other vintage items that my son and I really enjoyed seeing. We were looking for quiet, nature, and good hospitality - and we found it. Thank you, Curt. We very much enjoyed our stay!
We arrived late and our first instinct was to walk right back out of the door, however we decided to give it a try and what a mistake THAT was...The house has a funky smell that was overlaid with a strong chemical smell and you cannot open any window at all. (All windows are covered with plastic sheets that are nailed to the wall with wooden strips And behind them are lots of dead bugs. The floors are uneven and covered in a dirty shaggy rug. But the worst of all was that I had to kill a total of 3 spiders that were crawling out from under my bed...Two of them looked like the poisonous black widows. (Just read up on what a bite of them can do to you.) Did I mention that you have absolutely no privacy: the front door has a large glass window that faces the owners parking lot and house, also the majority of the windows do not have curtains. The one bathroom has no fan and you have to take a shower in the dark because there is not enough light to see once you close the shower curtain. Even so the place looks remote on the map, you hear a train whistle and drive by even at night. There is no TV at all in the house. We are vegetarians and the display of all the dead and stuffed animals hanging from the walls seemed more than creepy to us. We were on the phone at three o'clock in the morning and booked a hotel for the next night because we did not want to stay here a minute longer. The owner was nice and actually reimbursed us for the 2nd night we had booked because we had to leave.
