About this property
The Dusk House - An Idyllwild A-Frame
The Dusk House is a serene and stylish getaway located in the Pine Cove neighborhood of Idyllwild. The all-black A-frame is entered via a bridge spanning a seasonal creek leading up to the wraparound deck. The cabin features double-height front windows with upholstered window seat, wood burning stove, two bedrooms with queen beds, full bath and chef’s kitchen. Located on a private road, the property encompasses the adjoining lot so you’re surrounded by nature on all sides.
Built in 1979, The Dusk House is a two-story A-frame, with a main level living room, bedroom, kitchen, full bath, and dining area, topped by a dramatic sleeping loft overlooking the living area.
The living room is defined by full-height windows over an upholstered window seat, brick hearth with wood-burning stove, and a vintage Percival Lafer armchair. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest, or unwind in front of the 42” Roku TV with Sonos surround sound for either music or tv.
The kitchen features poured concrete countertops, all-new Samsung electric appliances, 33” farmhouse sink, John Boos butcher block work table, Dualit toaster, microwave, and Chemex pour-over coffee maker.
The dining table seats six comfortably, while through the sliding glass doors there’s additional seating for four on the wraparound deck where you can spy Tahquitz Peak through the pines. Beyond the deck, the property extends encompassing the neighboring lot with no neighbors beyond it.
Both the downstairs and loft bedrooms boast queen beds with new Leesa memory foam mattresses and built-in closets.
***The Dusk House is located on a private road and though it is paved, it is not plowed or otherwise maintained by the county. The road is passable by most any vehicle in good weather except for a few days out of the year when there is heavy snow. During these times, we and our neighbors will park at the bottom of the road, about an 800 ft walk uphill to the house. If you book between the months of November and March, we encourage you to take this to heart. We will be in touch prior to your stay and can advise of the current road conditions, however we can't tell you with any certainty if your car will be able to pass. We are not responsible for any stuck or damaged vehicles due to road or weather conditions.
