About this property
Cozy cabin retreat nestled among forest trees
The Marion Ridge Cabin is a two bedroom one bath gem tucked into the wooded forest of Pine Cove just outside of Idyllwild, California.
Cozy, and newly renovated, this 1930s cabin has the charm of old rustic cabin living with modern upgrades for all the comfort needed in a mountain retreat.
5 Minutes from the heart of Idyllwild, this cabin is close to countless hiking trails, great restaurants and art galleries while being far enough to feel like a proper nature retreat.

**The space**
LIVING ROOM
Our cozy living space is perfect for reading, snuggling in and ending a day of hiking in the forest. Books and games are available to help indulge in the comfort of the space and there is a Smart Roku TV and a Spotify Account with preset soundtracks for your cabin experience.
The living has both a wood burning stove and a wall furnace to help keep the house warm during our chilly Winter months.
BATHROOM
There is a newly renovated bathroom downstairs, equipped with a full shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a heated floor to keep the chill away on those cool nights and mornings
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
We provide a well stocked open kitchen made for cooking delicious meals. There is a dishwasher, microwave, stove top, oven and ample refrigerator. You'll also find several cookbooks to explore.
Morning coffee at the dining room table while looking out over the yard is a perfect way to start the day.
GUEST BEDROOM/OFFICE
We loved putting this room together! Light and airy, it's both cozy and spacious enough to sleep in and then use during the day to do remote work at the desk.
The bed is a new Queen hybrid foam mattress tucked into a wall frame that features two side cubbies that allow you to plug in phones or other small electronics bedside.
This room has a portable mini split that serves as both heater and airconditioner, extra blankets and pillows along with two small closets.
The L shaped desk provides you with ample room to work and aside from the high speed wifi in the house, this room also allows for an ethernet connection.
MASTER BEDROOM
The new Queen sized bed in this room is also a hybrid foam mattress nestled between two side tables and reader lamps for cozy nights and morning reading.
This is such a wonderful room to sleep long past early morning in.
There is a chair for dressing and a larger closet in this room, along with some storage cubbies for suitcases and the like.
This room also has a portable mini split that provides heating and air-conditioning when needed.
DECK AND PATIO YARD
The two wooden rocking chairs on the deck are the perfect place to sit at while the sun is setting. And our separate side deck provides you with comfortable seating and is a lovely space for dinner outside.
**Guest access**
The entire cabin is yours to use, along with the designated driveway as well as street parking.
NOTE: When there is snow, we have someone come and plow the snow away in order to keep parking accessible. There is also a shovel available that you can use in order to make the deck and walkway available for use.
**Other things to note**
Note that the property is about a 1/4 of an acre with two structures on it. The cabin you'll be staying in is on one side and the other structure is on the other half. Both structures are separated by a second long driveway and the quiet studio on the other side of the property is only used during daylight hours weekdays.

About the host
Hosted by Elena Rego

My husband Jon and I have been avid travelers from very early on in our relationship, about 15 years ago. Spending extensive time as digital nomads we have always loved staying a house stays and later VRBOs and AirBnB because we loved feeling like we were at home in a cozy environment that not only allowed us to relaxed into the local culture but also gave us a chance to enjoy host's gift for design and creating spaces of comfort for others. I had no idea how gratifying it would be for us to be on the hosting side of things and experience the pleasure of providing a relaxin sanctuary for guest to explore one of our most beloved towns in the world.
Why they chose this property
Pine Cove is a sweet little wilderness pocket just outside the 'hustle and bustle' of the town of Idyllwild, which literally has 1 main road and no intersection lights because it's a town of about 3500 people! The neighborhood is quiet, quaint and crowded with gorgeously tall pines, oaks and cedars.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin retreat is a perfect marriage of modern and rustic. We bought a cabin build in 1932 that needed a LOT of work and we were able to keep those pieces that made it hold so much character while adding smart amenities that provides you with comfort, ease and pretty much everything you need for your modern life living while tucking you into the forest for a quiet retreat to unplug.
