About this property
A-Frame Style Modern Cabin
Located at 6,001 feet, ReWild Cabin is ideal for a small family or two couples looking for a mountain retreat - perfect for hiking and experiencing the fresh mountain air.
Plan a last-minute weekend! Just a 2-hour drive from San Diego or Los Angeles, Idyllwild is an ideal summer getaway!
** Please note - our cabin is not suitable for 5 adults. And, you will climb 40 steps up to the front door, see below! (It is worth it!) **

With our A-frame style, open layout mountain cabin, you’ll be well-rewarded with two-story windows affording breathtaking forest views from inside the cabin as well as the expansive upper level deck.
Wide window vistas amidst towering trees, a loft-like layout and wood throughout the cabin are blended with modern amenities. So make yourself comfortable on the deck, read a book, play a board game or just enjoy popcorn and Netflix.
HIGHLIGHTS:
* Huge windows with forest view
* Baby/toddler/kid-friendly toys, games and gear
* Well-stocked kitchen
* Comfortable beds
* Super fast WiFi
* Modern cabin vibe
* Vast outdoor deck plus shaded downstairs deck
* Pet friendly cabin (bowls available for food and water!)
THE LIVING SPACE:
* Open floor plan living room *
The cabin is Amazon Alexa-enabled to play all types of music, games or ask general questions about anything you can think of. In addition to a newly installed smart TV, which provides many free stations and Netflix, we offer our vinyl record collection for your listening pleasure. Numerous board games, toys and puzzles are available for use as well.
* The Kitchen *
View the majestic pines as you prep your meals from the well-stocked kitchen including:
- gas stove and small oven
- microwave
- small dishwasher + detergent
- coffee: drip coffee pot, French press, Italian espresso maker & coffee grinder
- water kettles (one electric, one gas)
- 4 slice toaster
- blender
- Crock pot
- many pots & pans and dishes
- sharp knives (be careful!)
- measuring cups and spoons
- cooking essentials: salt & pepper, olive oil and some spices/condiments
Seating is available at a live-edge wood dining bar and outdoor picnic table. We also provide a clip-on infant seat and toddler camp chair, available in the downstairs closet.
SLEEPING SPACES:
One private bedroom is downstairs plus an upstairs open loft, allowing for up to five guests. Please note, however, this space is not suitable for 5 adults.
* King Bed Loft *
In the loft is a slightly firm California King bed with a new 2" memory foam topper, along with a small work station overlooking the living area. It also features its own private outdoor balcony overlooking the back yard and a half-bath. The loft is equipped with a luggage rack for easy storage. There is a small dresser in the loft for longer stays.
* Queen/Twin Bedroom *
Ideal for the kids or 2 adults and a child, the lower bedroom has an eco-friendly, soft and comfy queen-size bed with an XL twin bunk overhead, a television and is next to the full bathroom. Please note - the top bunk has a weight limit of 150 lbs. This room is the only bedroom with a door. We also provide a travel crib suitable for your little one under age two, as well as folding camp cots for older toddlers. You may wish to bring your own bedding if planning to use these items, but some sheets and blankets are provided.
FOR THE KIDDOS:
As parents, we know that traveling with kids can be especially challenging. That's why we have provided:
- a baby gate for the stairs (in the downstairs closet)
- numerous books, games and toys (available under the bunk bed and in the wooden chest under the living room TV).
- a small potty for your toddler who is potty training
- bath toys and baby bath soap and lotion for their sensitive skin
ReWild Cabin is an ideal place to stay for a young family! Please let us know if you have any questions about any of the baby/toddler gear.
ABOUT THE OUTSIDE AREA:
A beautiful, large deck is perfect for sipping complimentary morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. We also provide yoga mats and blankets to enjoy your sun salutations.
The lower deck is shaded, ideal for the summer months. There is also a sizable backyard (fenced on 2 sides) that is fun for the kids to explore.
PET POLICY:
We welcome up to two pets in our dog-friendly cabin (dogs, cats, guinea pigs! but no puppies, please) for a nominal $50 cleaning fee per animal. Please let us know at booking to approve your pet(s) and modify your reservation. You may also include your animals in the head count when making your reservation; include a description of your pets when providing details of your stay.
Please note that the back yard is fenced only on two sides and there are many wild animals in the area including bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions, raccoons, squirrels and foxes. The top deck does have a gate that closes, but otherwise we highly recommend keeping your pet on a leash.
THE 40 STEPS!
Yes, we counted...there are 40 steps, some of which are cobble stones, from the driveway up to the cabin; please keep in mind the physical capabilities of your traveling crew, especially with the altitude (6000 feet) in mind. Take your time and breathe in the mountain air as you acclimate! In the rain and winter, the steps can be slippery and uneven so please go slowly. In the winter, we provide salt to assist with navigating the stairs. Please note that due to the stairs, the cabin is NOT wheel-chair accessible.
PARKING:
There is a small driveway at the bottom of the steps, suitable for 2 small or 1 large car. Parking on the street puts your car at risk of towing and our permit at risk of being revoked. Please refrain from doing so.
LAUNDRY:
For stays longer than one week, we can offer laundry access, so set up your "home office" or spend summer camp at ReWild for a break from the usual scene! With our work-from-home loft and super-fast WiFi you won't miss a thing.
If you have any questions prior to booking, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to having you and your family at the ReWild Cabin!
FINE PRINT:
Riverside County Permit # 002046.
Maximum occupancy: 5 (including children)
Parking: 1 large or 2 small vehicles. No street parking, please.
Riverside Occupancy tax of 10% (on nightly rate and cleaning fee) will be charge separately after your booking.
