Buchanan Layton House

The Buchanan Layton House features some of the most picturesque open water views in the continental United States.
From the extravagant dock that provides safe harbor for any avid boaters needs, you will look out into the infinite turquoise sea and find peace at last.

Allow yourself to be born again after soaking in the scenes of palm tree covered oceans, that come with a dip in either the 2nd story pool or spa (no jets).


When you’ve finished, retire to the 1000 sqft. master captains quarters and find that the stunning views go along with you. A bed fit for a king, marble bathroom with tub, large shower, and water closet all constitute the 2nd story master suite.

Head down stairs and find panoramic ocean views that encompass the first floor living area. As well as a fully stocked kitchen & dining room that can provide for the entire family. Washer & dryer are also located on this floor.

Lastly but not least, find yourself enjoying a cocktail at the 3rd floor bar, overlooking the captivating bay waters. You may also enjoy some time at the card table, play a game of billiards, or lounge watching television in the home’s second living area.

Boasting over 4,400 sqft of interior living, and just under 17,000 sqft of property, you won't ever feel cramped in this enchanted keys villa. The home features 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, an expansive loft & sleeps 10 comfortably.

Amazing stay

We had an amazing stay! It was just the two of us adults so place was waaaaay big and would be perfect for a large group. Loved the privacy of the spot, game room was perfect, and kitchen was well equipped for those that want to cook but also close to several restaurant options if you want to dine out. Some kayaks would’ve been a great addition to the place but nonetheless a truly amazing place and well worth the price!

Amazing home in Layton

This waterfront home was beautiful and we had a wonderful time relaxing on their beach and by their pool. The home is immaculate and has great large spaces for gathering and game playing. There is a great restaurant within walking distance and many additional places that aren’t too far of a drive.

Stunning Home with Amazing View

This house did not disappoint. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. The views from the house were stunning. We enjoyed cooking many meals at the house and sitting together at the large dining room table. There were 7 women in our group. We also saw a lot of wildlife from the dock that we would have never seen otherwise like sea turtles, manatees, nurse sharks, and a variety of beautiful fish. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding and the pool and hot tub were used daily while we were there. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer at the house to wash clothes and towels. This house was just amazing and we wished that our vacation didn't have to end.

Outstanding property and location for 5 brothers from different States to get together and enjoy the Florida Keys. Plenty of room for sleeping, cooking and relaxing. Amazing dock/pier for fishing, swimming and watching sunsets! Looking forward to returning.

We enjoyed our stay at the home very clean, beautiful place to rest and relax. And obviously go fishing. The best part was the home and the pier or dock. Every night we enjoyed our sunsets on the dock looking out and doing a little pier fishing and relaxing. I would recommend for anyone for a great place to stay.

Awesome home

This home is awesome. We were two families. Cousins. We had space for all to be together and enough areas for one-on-one bonding. The outside areas are just as accommodating: the dock and the Adirondack chairs area. The house is extremely well equipped. We lacked nothing. Our host Bert was informative and available. I highly recommend this property. We will return.

This house supersedes all of your expectations. Absolutely amazing,spectacular. Pictures and descriptions are on point. But even more incredible in person. My 6 grandkids enjoyed everything fishing off the dock, swimming snorkeling under the dock. Seeing turtles, nurse, sharks, stingrays , paddle boarding and more. Upper deck pool is so amazing to be able to look out at that incredible view and get the breeze. Anything you need is in the house. Burt the host is top notch. There was no issues with the house but with check in and check out for any suggestions he was on point right away. The location is about an hour and 25 minutes to Key West. We did other excursions in the area seaplane ride flying out to the Tortugas,nite kayaking with LED lights in Marathon but you really don’t even have to leave this majestic place. I give it 5+ ⭐️ And would definitely highly recommend this to anybody or will return.

House was sparkling clean. Grounds were in great condition. It was perfect for our group (four couples). Everyone had room to spread out, and the gathering spaces were large enough we could all congregate together when we wanted. There was plenty of peace and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay

The property is absolutely stunning! I highly recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful, peaceful ocean front rental. It was so nice and private, peaceful and the sunsets were amazing. We saw and caught all kinds of fish. The pictures dont do it justice. We were all amazed at how beautiful everything was. Everything we needed was there. Everything we wanted to do was within a hour drive. The host was great, response time was immediate everytime. We hope to be back next year!

Beachfront Paradise!

Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Layton House! The house is spotlessly clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you could ever want and then some. We took full advantage of the kayaks, grill, pool floaties, and fishing poles! Our adult children had a great time staying up late and playing pool in the upstairs loft.Our favorite spot was the lighted dock, where we fished and saw sharks, manatees, HUGE stingrays, sea turtles, lobsters and even GLOW WORMS one night!! Three days was just not enough, we'll be back again soon!

The house and property are amazing! The view is unbeatable and the privacy is great. There were stocked items available that were helpful and so many unexpected amenities (fishing poles, water toys, etc). Communication with the management was great!

Privacy, setting, and plenty of space!

We were blown away by the stay at the Layton House. The rooms were huge, the property extremely private, and the kitchen was super well equipped! We all slept well, had so much space to spread out in (great for all the introverts) and we had every kitchen gadget we could ask for. The pool and hot tub were a huge bonus, and we enjoyed the sunsets from the dock with some amazing photos. Also loved that we had access to the kayaks and floats to get out on the water, and felt like this property had way more than other short term rentals we have stayed at. The location is a bit remote if you want a grocery store or a coffee shop nearby, but we couldn't beat the views and space. We also didn't realize it was bordering a swamp, but to get our own peninsula was worth it. Our host was very responsive, and we were grateful for the help with the issues that came up. We highly recommend this to future guests, especially a bigger group who want space, amenities, and fun!
