About this property

On the shores of Ducklake only minutes from Glacier Park, and Waterton Park park

HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED THE STARS IN MONTANA?
We have been in the valley for almost 50 years, love the land, the people and the entire park in general! My parents had a place on the majestic St Mary lake where we grew up in the wild every weekend and 2 months every summer exploring all the hidden gems glacier park had to offer. We built our getaway on Duck lake in 2006 for the fishing, wildlife and the utter beauty of the Montana rocky mountains just for our 3 boys to have the same upbringing I had. Now as they are getting older and moving in their own directions our place seems to be empty more and more of the time. We are happy to open up our piece of paradise to explorers of all types to experience a piece of life in Montana's wilderness.
The property is fully chain linked fenced keeping you safe while watching the boundless wildlife with views from all directions. over 100ft beach with clean weed free water (swear its the best fishing area on the lake) a dock, 2 fire pits one on the beach one in the trees for the windy days. The loft cabin we are offering is brand new. It is super unique, rustic and modern in every way. We have an assortment of kayaks, canoes and all kinds of water sports and fishing gear, welcome for everyone to use. Our main cabin is also on the property yet your stay will be quiet and relaxing, as were only usually there on weekends and for cleaning.
We just just added an inflatable air bed just to add a little more comfort for a larger group.

Abby and Anna were amazing hosts. The house was clean and well stocked ! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone visiting East Glacier. Only concern is the conditions of the road leading up to the house!

We loved our 3 night stay with Abby and Anna. The apartment exceeded expectations. There is a fabulous elevated patio with gorgeous views of Duck Lake and the mountains. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Location was fabulous to explore Many Glacier, St. Mary’s, Two Medicine and Waterton. Abby went above and beyond to provide important information to help us best enjoy the park. We would definitely stay here again! We felt so taken care of!

Couldn't ask for better!

We had a great stay! The cabin had everything we needed. We enjoyed the convenience to Glacier as well as the fishing and relaxation the space provided. It was great to get to know Abby and Anna!

The place was amazing, but the hosts were even better! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. Every little detail was thought of — they even brought up extra toys for my kids. I truly hope this rental is around for a long time, because we’ll stay here every single time we visit Glacier. I’m already having withdrawals from not seeing that breathtaking view each morning while sipping my coffee.

Follow the directions and be patient on the gravel road and you will be rewarded with a great starry sky on a clear night. Abby is as friendly and helpful a host as we have ever had. The kitchen has very modern appliances, easy to cook there, and a bbque grill we used on the deck. One proviso - it is a second story residence to climb and drag luggage up to, so those with mobility problems should pass on it.

This has to be one of the better rentals on east side of GNP. The inside is so much more beautiful than the pictures! It was also very clean and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed a morning kayaking on the lake with the most beautiful views! Evening stargazing from the patio was also a treat. Not far from the St Mary GNP entrance. You will appreciate having 4 wheel drive tho!

Our family of five greatly enjoyed our stay at Duck Lake. The condo unit was very nice, clean and offered all the amenities that made our stay comfortable and convenient. The location offered quick and easy access to the east side GNP entrances of St. Mary and the Many Glacier Area. After our long daily hikes we loved coming back to the property and relaxing on the deck or spending time by the lake. Abby and his wife are great hosts, he is a fun and very interesting guy. They were very responsive to our questions and anything we needed. We highly recommend staying here and we look forward to our next trip out to GNP.

Perfect!

We enjoyed our stay at Abby and Anna’s lovely loft so much, we plan to go back someday. They provide their guests with everything you can think of to make your stay fabulous- Even on our last day I was still finding surprises in the cupboards. It’s peaceful, secluded and there are beautiful views from every window. If you plan to visit Glacier or just want to fish and relax, stay here! Be aware the road is rough (out of their control) and you need to take it slow, But we managed it with a Honda Accord. Highly recommend!

Great time at a great location with great hosts.

We had a great stay. Abby and Anna were very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Our son had a blast fishing in the lake for rainbow trout and it was a nice bonus to be able to take the kayaks out on the lake during our downtime. Would recommend and would happily stay there again despite the rough road to get to the property.

Great stay

It is a beautiful property - and everything about it appeared like it was just built! Inside there were so many little things that might be needed stashed away and ready to be used. Easy access to the lake, with everything you could need for fishing is ready to go. The hosts were great as well. I would like to go again

I can’t recommend this property enough. It was truly an experience. I went to MT with my 17 year old son. We wanted an authentic MT adventure and this property fit the bill perfectly. We drove the Going to the Sun Road and stayed 2 nights here. This is the perfect location for exploring the Many Glacier section of GNP. We loved the cozy vibes of the cabin, the fully stocked kitchen, the amazing beach with kayaks and the stunning views. It’s down a long gravel road but that was part of the fun. Cows are wandering everywhere and the sunrise and sunsets are amazing here. The hosts met us at the main road and we followed them to the property the first time we got there, which was extremely helpful. I know we would have doubted ourselves if we drove it alone - it’s far but wonderful. We had a rented Camry and it did fine on the road. Separately, I highly recommend the Grinell Glacier trail on this side of the park - simply breathtaking! If you want to feel away from it all, in a gorgeous setting, book this property today. If we ever come back to GNP, this would be the first place I reserved.

New friends for life!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Abby and Anna’s cottage, they are such very sweet people! The cabin feels like it’s brand new, made with high end materials and unique design features and immaculately clean. We look forward to more time wetting our fly lures in Duck Lake next time we visit this corner of Montana.

Beautiful loft on Duck Lake

This was the perfect property for our vacation to Glacier National Park. It was close to the east side of the park but far enough away to be peaceful. The loft was beautiful and it felt like staying in a log cabin but with all of the amenities. There were so many little touches to make our stay amazing. We also loved meeting one of the owners. Abby is super nice and we loved talking with him. I'd definitely stay again and suggest it to my friends and family. It was the perfect size for the three of us.

What a place

The loft was a perfect place to stay for our visit to Glacier National Park. It had all the amenities one could need and then some. Abby and Anna very beyond accommodating. They messaged us a few times and even stopped in with cake for us since they came to the main house for the weekend. My son really enjoyed the paddle board and couldn’t wait to come back from the park every night to get out on it. We will stay here again when we return!

East Glacier Paradise

Abby and Anna’s loft by Duck Lake was a perfect home base for our family to explore the east side of Glacier. They have everything you need for a comfortable stay including quality cookware, state of the art appliances and well stocked kitchen and bathroom. They allow guests use of various watercraft for fun & fishing on the lake. Doesn’t get much better than fresh caught trout! Abby and Anna went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Best Eastside glacier national Park homebase.

Abby was the best!! His place is as advertised. Perfect for my wife and I. Stayed on both sides of GNP and staying at Abby’s and Anna place was definitely better. Easier access to the eastern glaciers and not as congested as the west side. Abby left tackle and bait to go fishing and gave me some tips. He was very accommodating. Not many places to eat out so bring foodstuffs. There is a nice little kitchenette to prepare meals. Abby is awesome!!!

Excellent hospitality with excellent views

We had a wonderful stay at Abby and Anna’s! The cabin was perfect for our family of 3 to use as a base as we explored Glacier. The road to get to the cabin is a little rough, but if you go slow it’s not too bad. One of the days we went for a hike and got completely soaked due to a rainstorm. Abby and Anna were kind enough to allow us to use their washer and dryer in the main house so that we didn’t have to find places to hang out sopping wet clothes. There are plenty of amenities inside and outside the cabin. My husband LOVED the convection cook top and my step-daughter had fun trying the paddle board on the lake. Abby and Anna were very friendly and even gave us some tips on when and where to spot some bears. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a base camp on the east side of Glacier!

Such a cute place, and extremely clean. The bed was super comfortable. Shower was great, and loved having the little kitchen. The road to get here is gravel, with some decent potholes, so just be aware. We had an SUV and had no problems. Abby is super friendly and location is beautiful. One note-if you’re traveling with a third person like we were, the bed situation for them isn’t amazing. There was an inflatable mattress which was too soft, and the couch that folded down has a really hard centerpiece that forces you on one narrow side or the other. A regular futon would work perfectly. But that was our only (very minor) issue. Otherwise for 2 people, it’s perfect. We would definitely go back!

Great l’il spot off the beaten path but still super close to Glacier National Park. Loved all the lake toys! The place is small but has everything you need to be comfortable and great use of space. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Hosts were unbelievably friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
