Ocean Front Cottage!! Beauty on the outside, Charm on the inside!

Beautiful, completely restored in March 2020 Beach Front home. Great curb appeal, but even better view from the ocean side. Private stairs to the beach. Full view patio doors in great room open to let in the sea breezes. Beautiful wood floors throughout. Great surfing right from the backyard. Several additional great surf breaks in short walking distance. Surf fishing from the backyard. Great kayaking. Volleyball area in the cove.

This home is a beautiful cottage built in the early 1900's and has been completely restored and updated with all of the creature comforts you need to relax and make this your get away destination. This is truly a great cottage, but there is no question that being on the beach makes all of the difference in the world! You don't have to walk the kids to the beach! They are there! The hot water shower is right there in the backyard, steps away from the beach. If you have stayed in a home on the beach, you understand! If you haven't, now is your opportunity!

The central coast is the up and coming wine region of California. Templeton, Paso Robles, Edna Valley and even Cayucos and Cambria offer many destination wineries to tour, taste and buy.

If you are not into wine touring, there are so many activities right outside your door. You may decide to park the car and just stay put for the week.

Nice stay in Cayucos

Nice cottage on the beach. Very clean and cozy. Two couples. We used this as a base camp to explore the area, Morro Bay, visited Hearst Castle, Ragged Point and Wineries and shopping in Paso Robles. Great views from den and back patio.

Perfect Trip!

I've stayed in many rental properties and this one is by far one of the best! It felt like home from the minute we stepped inside, and was very cozy. It's clear the owners take pride in the property, and make an effort to keep it in good shape. The kitchen is well stocked, and intended to be used. We will stay here again!

Cayuco’s best kept secret

“No detail gone unnoticed.” This is an updated, well stocked, and very comfortable, clean home. The upstairs loft area was a real bonus for our young children. The gardens in the front of the property offer a secluded get away and quiet space away from the beach. This is a beautiful place and the owners have put a lot of love and care into their property. We’re lucky that they are sharing it with us!

Cayucos Beachfront

Very nice rental property right on the beach! Landscaping and outdoor areas, both street side and beach side, are top notch and well maintained. Interior is functional and tastefully appointed. We were two couples, one stayed in the loft as it is more separated and it was fine (as long as you didn’t stand up straight!). All in all, a great spot. Considering the price, internet should be expected, but it was. Impossible to access, even after going through all the hoops of calling Charter, rebooting, etc., etc. The referenced network was never to be found. Same goes for the TV - again, considering the cost, cable or satellite could be expected as opposed to limited streaming options.

Journeys End Is Special!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Journeys End for some vacation time before the holidays. When we saw the property on VRBO, we could not believe how beautiful it was! However, in person, it was more amazing than you could imagine! From the front door, through the garden/courtyard area and into the home, there were so many special touches. The climactic moment, of course, is seeing the ocean and beach of Cayucos directly out the wall of windows in the living room area. There is even a perfect view of Morro Rock from the living room. The backyard then opens perfectly to the ocean views, a grassy area, seating, and dining area. We have three little kids and this property was perfect for them to experience the beach! Journeys End has a staircase directly to the sand. We probably spent 8-10 hours each day on the beach (we had beautiful weather in November)! Most of the time, we were the only group set up on the entire beachfront (which spans for miles!). The kids were able to head back to the house for bathroom breaks, lunch, or whatever needs that they had. One feature that was so great was the outdoor shower to clean the kids up before they went inside; it even had hot water! The kids also LOVED the upstairs sleeping area. It was their own special place with the low ceilings, plenty of windows, and charming touches. We highly recommend Journeys End for young families! Journeys End had everything we needed during our stay; dishes, luxurious towels, a great dining area, wi-fi, an amazing sectional couch in the living area, and more. The beauty of it all is the proximity to the beachfront! Waking up to the waves crashing is an amazing way to spend a vacation with the family. The owners were just a text away for any questions and were responsive to anything we needed. We are excited to return to Journeys End!

We had a wonderful time. The home is in such a central location to services yet right on the beach. The house is beautiful, roomy with lots of nice patio areas. Rooms were large and beds comfortable. Fresh flowers on arrival!

Fabulous Location!

Family Beach Adventure

We absolutely loved this cottage by the sea. The patio was perfect for watching the ocean and relaxing. The ocean was just a few steps away. Our five-year-old made sand castles while her parent took long walks on the beach. The town of Cayucos was within walking distance. I hope to return to this fantastic beach home soon. Betty

A week of R & R on the beach

The property was amazing, the outside gardens and fountains were beautiful spots to relax and get out of the wind if needed, the beach access was easy, so little preplanning and packing was needed. Beach chairs and boogie boards were available which was great because we didn't bring any. The house was unique and had the feel of a vacation get away.

A Special Place

This property greets you with a beautiful outdoor garden on your way to the front door. The house is small yet the quality of it is so nice. Beautiful wood floors, a modern kitchen, lovely unique art that all together creates a lovely ambiance to be in. The ocean front patio and the convenient steps directly to the beach were such a nice bonus too. Talking and texting with the owner was easy and she was very helpful and accommodating as well. Overall we absolutely enjoyed our week in this cozy cottage.

Beautiful view and comfortable cottage!

My family really enjoyed our stay at Journeys End. The views were wonderful and we even saw dolphins from inside the living room! The hummingbirds visiting the beautiful garden were fun to watch as well. The home was very clean and nicely furnished. We had everything we needed. Multiple fireplaces and space heaters as well as extra blankets ensured we were comfortable. The host was very communicative. We will definitely stay here again.

Journey's End, where we did not want to leave!

Our family of 4 (2 kids age 7 and 9) had a wonderful week at Journey's End. Lauren and David were super hosts! We walked into a beautiful, clean home with fresh flowers, snacks and a bottle of wine to great us upon arrival. The property was true to the photos and description, with a lovely view of the ocean for sunrise and sunset. They provided us with great local information as we wanted to explore the neighboring towns, mountain bike, hike and dine. Everything was spot on. Thanks so much! My mom grew up in this little coastal town and I always wanted a vacation home here. Fortunately my native Texan wife, opted for a vacation home here vs. the Texas panhandle. We love the place and enjoy it when it isn't being enjoyed by others!

Why they chose this property

Small town with a small town feeling. Great beaches. Great hiking. Great surfing. Beautiful central coast.

What makes this property unique

We walk to Morro Bay, about 5.5 miles to the south at least once a week when we stay here. We kayak and surf as much as we can. We walk 1 mile to the north to downtown Cayucos and hang out at Cayucos Coffee in the morning with the locals. Great dining at Cafe Della Via The Hidden Kitchen, right down town.

On a practical side, being right on the beach and having the private beach access with a great cove at the foot of the steps is a huge bonus. Cuts way down on the logistical issues of packing for beach activities! Hot water outside shower was probably one of the 'smartest' things we added!
