Guest Access:
The condo comes with a unique code which will get you entry into your unit. The indoor, heated salt water pool and hot tub can be accessed via a Pool Code on the North side of the Office building.

This is a 2nd floor unit, there are 14 steps required to access the unit.

This is a condo in a shared complex, and it's worth noting that from time to time, you might hear everyday sounds coming from neighboring units and common areas within the facility. The condo comes with a limited supply of complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer.

We were there for walks on the beach and to see the ocean and we were not disappointed. We had a comfortable stay and found the location to be an excellent base to explore the coast.

The location was great. Great amenities, fully stocked kitchen, and beds were comfortable. Easy access to the beach and clean. Interior needs improvements in bathroom & exterior needs improvements. But overall great place.

once upon a tide

This ocean front condo is amazing. Very comfortable and central to all amenities. Older decor but very functional. Last minute closure of the pool that needed cleaning because of too much sand was disappointing as it was closed for the entire 9 days. Would stay here again as the price point was very affordable.

Once Upon a Tide sleeps up to six with a sofa sleeper and queen bed in the living room and our property has our own beach access. Delighted to hear the unit was comfortable and that you find our oceanfront view as amazing as we do! It was unfortunate that the pool was not available for your stay. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding. Although not ideal, amenities can go out of order without notice due to mechanical and other failures. It is our top priority to have the pool or spa open as quickly as possible after being closed down, because we know how much our guests look forward to using them. Location!!!

We had no issues. The property is older. Everyone complains about noise in the complex- but we brought 2 fans and had no issues. The family had a great time and loved campfires on the beach at night.

Once Upon A Tide

The property on the outside and inside is kept very clean. The staff was out while we were there cleaning the stairways and parking surfaces and were pleasant to interact with during our stay. Inside everything was just like the pictures and had been cleaned and ready when we arrived. I loved the code entry and simple check in. We had no problems with finding a parking spot. The view was amazing and worth the stay. Loved being able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the crashing of the waves. It was just the rest and relaxation we needed.

Excellent Room and Stay

The room was beautiful, cozy, and very clean. We enjoyed the balcony and being able to open the door to listen to the ocean while lounging in the room. The heat and fireplace was a very comfortable atmosphere and regulated the room well. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking meals. If there was anything I could recommend for the room it would be better pillows. The staff were super helpful, kind, and friendly. The check in process is super simple and handled electronically and easy. You receive a door code by email that makes it hassel free with just getting to go to your room at check in time.

Beautiful Ocean View

I would have liked a little higher end furnishings in the unit. Like better furniture and quartz countertops, but that being said it was comfortable enough. Since condos are on the older side, there are no elevators. The outside of the condos are pretty tacky. Spider webs, peeling paint. The people working there were very accommodating if you requested extra towels or anything else. But overall, you can’t beat the access to the ocean and the wonderful view. And they are within walking distance to a few good restaurants.

Darryl, thank you so much for your candid review of your stay in unit 218, Once Upon a Tide! I'm glad you found our staff accommodating and the condo comfortable. Each of the 63 units here are individually owned, and we are right in the middle of a transition process that involves redecorating and remodeling these condos. We'll pass your comments on to the owner of 218 as they consider how they want to improve their own unit. The HOA is ultimately responsible for any major upkeep on the outside of the building, like painting, but we've hired a few more groundskeepers/maintenance to help out with things we can control like those spider webs. And we do advocate for the HOA to address consistent complaints about the outside of the building, so thank you for sending us your personal feedback! You're also right that our centralized location between Highway 101 and the beach in Lincoln City gives guest the best combination of amazing ocean views, easy beach access, and close proximity to several shops and restaurants. Or our condos feature kitchenettes and full sized appliances for any guests that want a dine-in experience ocean view experience. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review. As Good As a One Star Suite Could Be

Overall we were happy with the DSands Suite. It was clean, comfortable and relaxing. We were on the South end which brought a few annoyances but nothing we coudn't live with for 3 nights. Fires on the beach can bring smoke in your room and are right below the South End. Booking fees made the price per night go from $129 a night to about $208 a night, so pay attention to the final booking price. This was comparable to other places, so no big deal. The bedroom on the highway side can be fairly noisy with passing trucks but you can avoid it by sleeping on the ocean side. If you have two couples you could trade off or draw straws. Overall it wasn't bad and we would stay there again but try and book in the middle or North side units.

Unfortunately, VRBO does add on fees towards the end of the booking process, so you are correct that the final price isn't reflected in the nightly rate. I'm also sorry to hear you had some issues with smoke coming off the beach, but because our entire property is ocean and beachfront, it's not necessarily a South building problem. People can build fires anywhere on the public beach, but the North building is a little farther back, which can help some of the smoke disperse. And we are directly off of Highway 101, so there is some traffic noise, but you're correct that the ocean side is quieter and has that gorgeous view. Thank you again for the feedback of your stay. Fabulous location right on the beach

Loved the location, right on the beach! Excellent views and the balcony was nice, especially the day it was raining. Very nice to get up in the morning and have tea on the balcony.Easy to operate fireplace, simply put on the switch. Nice for night time. You can also have beach fires.The room was spacious and very clean. I appreciate how clean it was. The bed next to the large window facing the beach was comfortable to sleep in. Kitchen was clean, didn't notice that there was a lack of a dishwasher, which wasn't a big deal. Nice full-size fridge. Plenty of bath towels and beach towels are also provided. Quite for the most part, except for hearing little kids feet above our heads, which wasn't a big deal.Easy check-in and check out. These are the good points.I would have liked a better stocked kitchen. It had basics such as salt and pepper, pots and pans, kitchenware. However, it didn't have cookie sheets, measuring cups, or more than two dish towels. The main bedroom (which is the bed in it's own private room) was facing the street, which was quite noisy. We weren't able to sleep in that room at night, so we used it only for storing our clothes. The vanity is nice, but the lighting for it is very poor. Good storage in the main bedroom.Furniture is very dated, and bathroom needs some TLC. There is also a big flood light outside on the porch, which is way too bright at night.

The view was breathtaking & we throughly enjoyed our stay. My only advice would be: please itemize everything in each unit online so travelers can better plan as this place has no elevator & you don't want to overpack. Great Stay..Beautiful Unit
