Our family built this house in 1971 in the beautiful, quiet Dollar Point neighborhood. It is a very well-maintained home that has a renovated kitchen and upper level bathroom. This is a quiet, residential area that will make you feel like you're at home. Yet you are minutes from town, ski & board mountains, trails, water, golf, shopping and more. The house is built on a hill so you will always have a view of beautiful Lake Tahoe. Not to mention great sledding in the winter. We are partial to 'Old Tahoe' ways and enjoy restaurants that have endured the times like Jake's on the Lake. There is a reservoir across North Lake Drive about a 1-mile walk from the house. This recreation area meets up with the Tahoe Rim Trail for endless hours of biking and hiking. If you're into geocaching, there are some fun caches there - including ours called 'Dogpatch'. Paved bike path by Dollar Point entrance that is easy ride to town, along West Shore, or to Olympic Valley. Keywords: spacious, comfortable, public beach, hiking, and biking. 15 minutes from most ski hills. 3 miles to town.

Really great location, some lake views from many parts of the house! Stocked with everything we needed, good communication, really good hangout areas for two families!
Classic mountain cabin/home with great location. We had lots of space , great dining area to accommodate the whole family . We really enjoyed the location and the view from the front deck.
Absolutely amazing property! View of the water, nice backyard, and plenty of space for all of my friends. The living spaces were amazing for our board games and just relaxing in between activities.
The home was very cozy and spacious for a group! We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed snowboarding at Tahoe. The owner was very kind and communicative
The home was warm and clean, and located in a quaint, lovely neighborhood. It's a very short walk to see the lake and I did so each morning as a lovely wake-up ritual. It's close to many of the activities to do on the north side of Lake Tahoe, as we had to drive less than 20 minutes for any/all of our excursions. We had a wonderful experience here!
The cabin was great for my friends and I to have a ski trip with friends for a weekend.Andre was communicative and friendly.Definitely would stay again.
We had a great time at the property. It was beautifully maintained and was a perfect getaway for the entire family. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable cabin experience. Property was neatly maintained and had all the essentials ranging from kitchen to bathroom supplies.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood in Dollar Point with access to a small private beach and a pool. The house had everything we needed and tons of space.
We had an absolutely amazing time even with all the rain we got. The cabin was beautiful, the outside area was so nice to hang out and spend time together. All in all our family loved being there and we’d go back soon! Thank you so much.
Beautiful property that is well-cared for and very comfortable. Kitchen is very well-stocked; make sure to bring your own soap for the bathrooms. Very communicative and kind owners who were very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!
Perfect cabin for our two families to get away by Tahoe City. Lots of space, and many kid friendly features like furniture with rounded corners, board games, a game room, and toys. The driveway could be tricky if icy. 360 cameras and 4wd helps.

Hi Serene,
Thank you for the review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay and that it was kid friendly for your families.
I have a plow service that comes whenever snow accumulates more than about 4 inches, but they can't do much about ice on the driveway surface. Yes, best to exercise caution and get a running start!
We had a wonderful stay in Andre's beautiful and cozy house. Andre was exceptionally responsive & helpful in addressing questions. We hope to return for another stay next year. Thank you Andre!
Our party of six enjoyed a five night stay at this family home in the peaceful Dollar Point neighborhood. The listing was exactly as pictured and described. (Note that the beds are very firm, which was loved by some and not so much by others.) The house was clean, well-appointed and in a great location for our Lake Tahoe adventures. The front deck was our favorite spot to eat meals, play games, relax, and enjoy the view of Lake Tahoe.
We had a great stay. The house was amazingly well stocked with every supply you would ever need. Towels, paper products, enough dishes for everyone for multiple meals, spices, foil, pots and pans. Even coupe glasses!
The house was also very clean and comfortable. The upstairs did get warm (June) but there are fans and a ceiling fan so we still slept comfortably.
Location is great and the evenings were nice and quiet in the neighborhood.
We would definitely stay here again anytime of the year.
We had a great time during our stay. The house was in a beautiful neighborhood and had a nice view of the lake. Our family enjoyed nights together on the deck and eating dinner and playing games in the kitchen and living rooms. The two little kids enjoyed it very much as well (there was a pack n play and booster seat provided). The house itself has a rustic mountain feel to it that made it feel genuine. The area is a great central location for summer activities such as the beach, hiking, biking, golfing, boating, etc. There is a delicious coffee shop/bakery nearby. Tahoe City is a nice little town. Overall highly recommend.
Great location; perfect accommodations for our extended family with two king rooms and two twin rooms. Our kids loved the game room in the garage and the basketball hoop in the driveway. The kitchen had everything you could need! The upper rooms were a little warm in the August heat so we ended up using all of the provided fans. Perhaps a small ac unit would be a nice addition for summer stays. Plenty of linens were provided and they were very clean. André was an excellent communicator and very helpful! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Great Tahoe Stay
Very well layed out Tahoe home. Lots of room for multiple families to hang out and play. The kids bunk room was wonderful. The game room was fun for the kids. Well stocked with kitchen needs and extra linens. Good location and wow, tons of snow this visit! Owner was excellent to communicate with throughout the process, even with some minor issues when we were there. Although I do wish that we would have been notified of those issues before we arrived, so we would have been aware. The bed linens could be updated, some basic toiletries would be nice to have included. Maybe some better outside lighting and house numbering (it was very hard to arrive at night during the snow trying to find the right house). But all in all, a nice place for large groups to gather and enjoy Tahoe. We hope to rent again soon.

Yes, the snow has been incredible this year! So much and piled so high that house numbers in two locations are obscured from the street. Sorry about that. I'll see about some additional locations for lighting and house numbers. The snow and rain has also caused some minor flooding in the garage and resulted in the garage door becoming damaged. This has since been repaired.
Brand new flannel sheets are now available for all the beds which are welcome for winter nights. Although soap dispensers are in each bathroom, I will think again about small hand soaps and shampoo. I appreciate the feedback and hope to see you again!
About the host

Built by my parents, this cabin has been a family vacation get-away for many, many years. We call it "the cabin" but really it is a house, with all the rooms and amenities.
Why they chose this property
This is our family cabin, comfortable, spacious and fully appointed kitchen. It is not fancy. If you are looking for granite countertops, high-end range and lux appointments, this is not the place. However, many couples, singles and families have enjoyed its quiet location, amenities, and ease of access to many North Lake Tahoe locations.
