MAJOR remodel and updates continue at the Happy Crab! New floors, new decks, siding, roof, windows, ceilings, interior paint and exterior paint. Brand new washer/dryer has been moved upstairs for your convenience. Fresh new decor and furnishings throughout and remodeled bathrooms. The "cook's kitchen" is now very well-stocked with a new fridge, microwave, pantry, and plenty of supplies for homecooked meals with your family.

Happy Crab is just 75 feet from the beach, even closer than many oceanfront cottages! The cottage boasts panoramic views of the beach from the deck and a hot-tub under the house for post-beach relaxation. Thru traffic is non-existent in this quiet, private ocean-side subdivision with only 15 cottages. You can relax without worries about the kids or the pets. There is a convenient ground level store-room for your beach gear and a hot & cold out-side shower for rinsing off after the beach. This house is cute, comfortable and well equipped and you are certain to make some wonderful beach memories.
South Nags Head is arguably the best location on the Outer Banks for a family vacation. It is a totally residential area enveloped by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore yet is only minutes from a variety of retail and recreational outlets (Jennette's Pier, the outlet mall, many restaurants). Families will find the quiet, low-traffic and non-commercial atmosphere relaxing yet appreciate how easy it is to drive to the grocery store, restaurants, the movie theater, or a putt-putt course. The large multi-use path that parallels Old Oregon Inlet Road for its 4.5 mile length and is great for running, biking, or walking. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is a full service marina with boat ramps and is just a couple of miles south of Happy Crab if you need a convenient location for offshore or inshore boating and fishing.

Relaxing

The property was very nice and clean I will definitely rent this property again My only complaint was the neighbors wind gongs Sounded like a blacksmith working all night Kinda made my dog nervous at night I have been coming here with family for the last 40 years and this area of the Outer Banks is my favorite

Great 2 weeks

The property was as expected, considering it’s one property line off the beach. The only things that I could see for improvement are to have house beach chairs and umbrella available for people renting the house. SMART tv’s for streaming services. The plug-in bug detectors are great but they take up allot of outlets.

Perfect Location!

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a short distance to the beach and the home had everything we needed. The area was quiet. Beds were super comfortable and the home is well cared for. We would definitely stay here again!
