About the host
Hosted by Stacy Stroia

Your host was born and raised in Plumas County and has always considered it home. We have lived in neighboring counties and out of state hoping for an opportunity to return.
This house was owned by a wonderful couple who were no longer able to live independently. Their son, a friend of ours, was tasked with selling it, needing lots of work to bring it up to market ready.
We met at the house one spring afternoon and agreed on a mutually beneficial plan to buy the house as is, before going to market. With the help of a great local realtor, the deal was done and we took ownership with optimism, excitement and some amazing friends and family ready to help.
Over the next year, we would spend long "work weekends" remodeling. Every 4-6 weeks, the group of 7 traveled from Texas or drove up from the Valley working 16-18 hour days completing the reno while staying in the house. Lots of air mattresses, sharing 1 bathroom, laughter, tears and only one trip to the ER. We have been lucky to meet some amazing new friends along the way who without whom we couldn't have done this. This house is very close to our hearts and we spend as much time here as we can. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!
