Luxury Condo one block from beach with 100 Mbps

Located 20 minutes from Liberia airport or 4 hours from San Jose airport, nestled in an old fishing village, this spacious two bedroom two bath condo has vaulted ceiling and sliding glass door to a lovely balcony with built in gas barbecue and eating area overlooking one of the two pools. This vacation rental has air conditioning, in home washer/dryer, WIFI, HIGH speed internet and cable TV. This rental is in the Sombras gated community, the only luxury condo complex within walking distance (100 yards) to the beach. The grounds feature paths meandering through lush tropical gardens, free parking and security. This is a gated community with a 24 hr security guard in place.

The condo features a full kitchen with kitchenware provided. The open dining and living area is spacious with a vaulted ceiling and comfortable furnishings. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom with large shower. Both bedrooms have king sized beds, linens and towels are provided and separate bathrooms. There are also beach chairs and coolers for your use.

The beach town, Playa del Coco, has large supermarkets, diving stores, tourist tiendas, hardware stores, banks, restaurants, etc. In addition, next to the gated community is a small shopping center with realtors, a small grocery store, restaurants and bars. While the Main Street of Coco is with in walking distance (0.4 mile) and may get lively at night, this location is quiet and peaceful.

The condo was tastefully decorated and well equipped. The view from the balcony was beautiful and relaxing. The owner was very helpful. Within walking distance of the beach and anything you might need. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Comfortable stay close to the beach

A quiet and friendly place to stay in Playa Coco. Very conveniently located. Walking distance to the beach (5 min), restaurants, shops etc. The unit was well stocked with everything we needed. Lovely pool. We enjoyed our stay.

Costa Rican relaxation

My wife and I, along with a couple friends, stayed for almost two weeks. It was great! Very nice accommodations with a pool and real quiet. Located very near to town, restaurants and the beach. I highly recommend and would go back.

Incredible place

We absolutely loved this condo. The location was perfect…. So close to the beach and the perfect distance from town and there’s also a cute bunch of restaurants with a 3-5 minute walk.. The two pools on site were great as well. The hosts and property manager were also great. We look forward to returning.

Great Place

We had an issue with one of the air conditioners and the owner responded immediately and took care of the issue as quickly as possible. It’s a nice condo and had everything we needed. Very clean and close to our favorite places to eat. We’d definitely stay here again.

Nice Property!

The only reason I didn't rate them 5 stars is because this particular property was on the 2nd floor. Climbing stairs with a baby, baby equipment, beach stuff, and a cooler was a bit challenging. Also, it's a bit of a hike to the central part of Playa Coco where the shops and restaurants are. About a third of a mile. Otherwise, the rooms were very nice and spacious, and each room had their own bathroom. The condo was spacious in general, along with a balcony overlooking the pool. We often had breakfast or at least our morning coffee before starting the day. I would recommend certainly recommend Sombras!

Fantastic property

Everything was perfect. the unit is in a really nice development of only 26 units. there are 2 on site pools available. There is 24 hour gated security. The owner has provided everything you could possibly want in the unit. Great appliances, A/C, cable, super comfortable beds, super clean. It is not 100 yards from the beach, but rather a 5 minute walk, nbd, really. There is a propane grill on the outdoor balcony that was great for grilling steaks and chicken. The town is a little bit touristy, but the beach is great. Lots of restaurants and bars. Exiting the property to the right and down about 500 yards on the left is Cafe Playa which became our "home base" on the beach, great food/drinks/service, and excellent wi-fi. Loved everything about this property and would stay here again if it isn't already booked. Owner and property manager were super responsive. 10 out of 10 !!!!

My first Vrbo use

It was a happy accident to find this rental. I had another rental fall thru at the last minute. Forcing me to pick a new place. Not only was the host friendly and quick in accommodating my last second need. But it wound up being far superior to the first place. It is a first class property, the unit clean and fully appointed for all my needs . Kitchen reaources, and even everything I would need for enjoying the nearby beach, and the condos pool. Beach chairs, floats, fishing gear and tackle. The furnishings are comfortable and impeccably decorated. The unit has a wonderful view from the veranda of one of the two pools in the complex. Both are steps away thru lush gardens on the grounds of exceptional quality. I stayed over a month and enjoyed it thoroughly. I made friends with serval of the full time residents who we very friendly. The grounds secure, with guarded gate. I rented a scooter to get around, to see more of the town and neighboring beaches. But not necessary. They’re a small grocery maybe a 100 yards away, but there are also restaurants with music a block or two away, coffee shops, pharmacy and other resources. Downtown Coco is about 15 min walk away. With an assortment of cuisines and pubs. I fell in love with the town and property. I have already booked a return visit, twice as long for next year. I

Disappointing stay with multiple issues

Our recent stay at this property was a disappointment. Despite the beautiful location, we encountered a host of issues that made it difficult to enjoy our vacation. This is our seventh time renting in Costa Rica, and we have NEVER had an experience this chaotic. While the issues were eventually resolved, the delays, poor communication, and lack of basic preparedness left us disappointed. We arrived at night to find the outside light to the building was out, and the code we were given didn't work. The light wasn’t fixed until days later, which made navigating the stairs at night both frustrating and unsafe. The primary bedroom had no working air conditioning for most of our stay. We dealt with repair workers in and out of the unit on three different days but the issue wasn’t resolved until our 6th night out of 7. They had to replace the air conditioner. Internet was unreliable: While the internet worked in nearby units, ours didn’t work until Wednesday. Not ideal when internet access was listed as an amenity and was the only means of communication with the management company on issues through Whats App. There was no gas in the grill. Dishwasher stopped working during our stay. They did fix it. This would have been a great place to stay if there weren't so many issues. The pools and grounds were nice. We had others in our party that stayed in the complex in another unit and did not experience any of the issues we had. Hopefully we helped make the next person's stay better.

Great location, well maintained with pretty much everything you need.

I have been staying at rented properties for the past 15 years and am always apprehensive of "pictures vs reality". I can say without a doubt that this property is very very good. The location is very convenient to both a vacation that wants to be in the middle of fun and night life and to one that just wants to be laid back. The unit is spacious and well appointed. Plenty of dishes and pots, pans and utensils. Some other niceties that were there were beach towels and an assortment of beach "stuff" to use, chairs, coolers, etc.... All of the furnishings were up to date and in very good condition. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and I'm a big guy at 6'3" . We spent most of our time in the unit either in our bedroom or on the deck, very comfortable. The set up is perfect for two couples that want to vacation together like us and our friends, while one of the bedrooms is truly the master, the second is just about as big and features a private entrance to the second bath. The pool is very nice and kept clean multiple times per day. The guard station and walled "compound" add that extra sense of security that makes your stay that much more enjoyable. The grounds are really nice and very well maintained. The walk to the beach is maybe five minutes. The beach here isn't a beach I would say you would go to swim and hang out, it's not bad or anything it's just that there are some really nicer parts but given that I was on the beach every morning and it is safe and not overly busy. And, the walk to downtown Coco is maybe ten minutes. If you're looking on Google for the restaurants around and don't see much, don't be discouraged, there are dozens in the immediate area and many really good ones, a favorite was the Tortuga Bar. So now for the areas that could be improved: Better directions to the location, I saw it on Google Earth and thought I knew exactly where it was but the pin is not dropped right, it's actually about 200 yards closer to downtown Coco. So, finding it at night was a little challenging that first day. There could be some better lounge chairs by the pool, the ones there are bulky and a little uncomfortable. The lighting in the common areas of the unit - kitchen/living/dining is a bit dim with about a third of the lights burned out, easily resolved by opening the blinds. The safe provided is a bit clunky to operate. Not too many issue areas, All in all a very good place, and Nancy is very responsive.

This is the most modern and well kept condo complex in Coco and of the ones available for sale, this one had the nicest floor plan, views and furniture.

What makes this property unique

I prefer that it is second floor with breezes and in a gated complex with a guard and still very close to the beach. (100 yards)
