The property name is inspired by the Native Americans who called the lake Soo-Nipi or "Wild Goose Waters" for the many geese that passed over the lake during migration. From an arial view, Lake Sunapee’s shape also resembles a bird/goose in flight, with the bird's head as the harbor.

Disappointed
The WiFi did not work at all. I reached out multiple times to the owner to have her call the internet company to fix it but the property owner never responded the whole time I had booked for 9 days. Very very frustrating and do not recommend staying here because if there’s any issues there’s nobody to help resolve them. The bed in the master was a pull out sofa with another mattress on top was very uncomfortable and the twin bed was very thin and uncomfortable. Even though the location was very good , the lack of WiFi and no cell service made it impossible to communicate or do business ( this was a business trip for me) . Another person who was going to stay backed out because of lack of internet.

Location
Great location, and equipped with all you could need. The beds weren’t great, and the shower is tiny. Other than that, nice little spot.

My family has lived part-time in Newbury and enjoyed Lake Sunapee for 75 years. Discovered by my Grandfather on a train trip North from Boston. He purchased one of three parcels of land on Bell Cove Road, and quickly convinced two friends from Wakefield to do the same. They enjoyed many years together along with their children (my Mom). As a child, my parents would bring us to Sunapee and leave us for the summer to stay with my Grandparents. We had the most amazing experiences and continued memories of that time, running free, exploring the woods and brook, swimming from sun up to sun down and making life long friends with our summer neighbors. The Lake Sunapee region continues to be a beautiful place to make memories with all kinds of mountain, water activities, hiking, biking, exploring, antiquing, visiting unique museums, gardens, discovering interesting restaurants, shopping or just resting and enjoying the spectacular views.
