Colorful, Sweet, renovated cottage with CHARM galore! Memorial Day Weekend just opened! Cool coral kitchen cabinets add cheer to your morning coffee and brings a punch of color to the cottage. Attention to detail throughout with all new furnishings and new comfy mattress! Patio sliders lead out to the small private, fenced backyard with a sweet patio and gas grill. Wonderful spot to BBQ and enjoy a glass of wine while letting the pets play! Location is second to none. So close to the beach, but still close to all Newport has to offer! AC units and blinds on windows and slider. (added after photos were taken) There is enough room for an air mattress in livingroom for guests. Parking for 2 cars and laundry in unit. Quiet and peaceful. You will hear the birds chirpping in the morning! The wineries are about a mile away, as is Sweetberry Farms where youcan pick up a fresh pie! The Polo matches are about 2 miles up the road and are a fun family event! The beaches are a bike ride away. Third Beach is less than a mile and is a calm family beach and Second Beach is less than 2 miles away....... waves, snack shack, and very popular! This location is ideal as you are so close to both the beaches and downtown Newport!

Lovely Time in Newport RI

Lovely cottage. Very quiet area, and just a 15 minute drive to town. Our nervous little dog was very comfortable here too.

Good But Not Great

While we enjoyed our stay at this little cottage, we did feel that it didn't quite match our expectations. When it says close to the beach, that is a subjective thing as to whether you are walking or driving, and whether you want a sandy beach or a stone covered beach. When you go away, you tend to think that renters will think through all the small details, which we felt this one did not. It was little things like there being no waste basket in the bathroom or any other room except under the sink in the kitchen. Also the fact that there were no curtains in the bedroom and even when the window blinds were pulled down, there were still gaps big enough for folks from the outside to see into. The bed mattress seemed to cause us to roll towards the middle and while there was a TV mounted in the corner of the living room, the only seating was a couch clear on the other end and it did not make for comfortable viewing since it was a good sized living room. But we spent most of our time in Newport so that was not a big issue either. Overall, the cottage was neat and tidy, and served our purposes of staying somewhere close (about 15 mins) to Newport. As far as the surrounding area of Newport, it is a fantastic place to vist as there is something for everyone. We enjoyed the sunset cruise, dining down by the harbor, and touring the historic parts of the area.

Home away from home

This is a good location only about 4 miles from downtown Newport. It was private and truly felt like a home away from home. Really appreciate the fenced yard having our dog with us! Bring your eye masks though because while the bright, sunny cottage is wonderful, depending on the time of year, the sun will wake you early! We loved our stay!!!

We wanted a compound in the Newport area, where we can host family and friends and spread out to have some fun! This fit the bill for us! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!

Why they chose this property

The location is what we could not ignore! Second to none! So very close to the fun and craziness of Newport, yet located in a quiet and serene location right down the road from some of the most popular beaches in Newport! The Peony cottage is located at the back portion of a 5 cottage property that sits on an acre. Each cottage is private and unique! While renovating the cottage, we decided to add some color to the kitchen cabinets to add to all the sunlight that just streams though out the property! It is delightful, charming and sweet! The bedroom features a queen bed and it you wanted to have 4 people in there, we provide a very nice air mattress for guests or kids! (can be set up in the living room and if you are going to use, please bring sheets for it) The cottage is fully equipped and can serve up to 6 people with wine and champagne glasses. Out doors is a private backyard that is partially fenced in. Patio has a dining table to dine alfresco! You are within minutes of beaches and about 5 minutes into downtown Newport!

The Peony Cottage sits on an acre parcel with 4 other cottages. If so desired, you can rent out the whole compound for small events such as family gatherings, wedding accommodations, corporate events or big celebrations! However the cottages are all private with their own outdoor spaces, parking and amenities. So they can also be used independently!!
